It hurts, a lot. This is the first time I've ever had one and I had no idea it would have me writhing and moaning on my bed for three hours at a time, even after I've taken some strong pain medicine and some Flomax to break it up. Since these spells of pain can strike at any moment and put me in shockingly excruciating pain, I won't be roleplaying until the darned thing passes through my ureter. This could be a day or it could be another week. Nonetheless, I'll come back when my stone finally completes its journey to my bladder and in the mean time keep up on the forum.
Also, sorry to the players I promised some RP with, I didn't expect the pain to hit me this badly.

I caught two miniscule shards- one yesterday and one today. After drinking a lot of water with pure lemon juice in it and taking Flomax I think I've successfully broken up this stone. I haven't experienced another wave of extreme pain in almost a day. I'm going to the urologist tomorrow so I think I'll be back in action very soon.

I had to post here and say good luck. I've had 'em, and so has my wife... my wife has had two children and swears that kidney stones are way worse than childbirth.

Went to the urologist today and they said the ct scan of the stone I'm passing was 4.5 mm, which is why it was so painful. They couldn't see it in the x-ray today, which I hope means it was broken up. I'm not feeling any horrible pain anymore so I think that's what happened. They did however, say that I had two more stones in my kidney that were about 1-2 mm each. I have to get some tests done to find that other stone soon, but since the pain is gone I should be back into RP by the weekend hopefully.
I'd have to say that after this I'm definitely going to drink more water every day.

But kidney stones aren't amusing. Hope your agony ends quickly!

Damn, that sounds awful, get better. It's a terrible feeling. There is no better relief in the world though once you're done with it, it's like getting a new lease on life.

Haha. I'm feeling a bit better, even though I still haven't passed it. I'm catching a lot of fragments so I think I'm still breaking it up as it makes its way into my bladder (according to the radiologist). They told me I have to drink like...two liters of water a day to prevent stones from forming. That's a lot of water.
Anyhoo, after I run an errand and do a few chores I'm going to jump back into the RP world this evening.
