Yet another original intro

First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Forever young in heart and spirit. My life has been always filled with stories and doodles of other worlds and magic. Role playing was not actually introduced to me until I was "on my own" and newly adult. It started with the role of dice and character sheets and loads of Dungeons and Dragons reference books. After a couple of years, and great new changes in my life, I decided that role playing games were not the "grown up" thing to do. I have since realize that "grown up" is overrated (I explain further in the questions below).

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I am in the United States and speak only English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Well, a long time after I quit RP games (OK I'll admit, 15years) my daughter was in the practice of finding games to play online and, uncannily, was drawn to role playing games (genetic?). I watched with interest and when she introduced me to a new game, World of Warcraft, I found myself even more interested. We started playing on a free server first and I was hooked. The stories from every character type, every class, each new land and region. The whole world of Azeroth set me back in a fantasy land where magic flourished, fantasy was reality and you could become whatever you aspired to be. Was this the grown up thing to do? I still shied away from telling my friends or peers that I role played online but then I decided that there was a happy middle ground between "grown up" responsibility and maturity and youthful imagination and fantasy.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I've looked for "free" servers to play on but it seemed that the only ones out there were PVP/instant 80...I am NOT into PVP play. Frustrated I typed in "...RP servers" and CotH came up.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Like I said, I am NOT into PVP play; I prefer to get into the story and to earn my way to the high levels.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
After trying out every race and just about every class I've found my favorite characters were a Human/warrior on the alliance side and a Blood Elf/rogue on the Horde.

What are your expectations of this server?:[/b
I expect a respectful, mature company of players and the ability to quest and role play without harassment or constant requests for dueling (ugh, some people don't know when to stop asking)

[b]Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

Well, I personally liked the rule about humility, having played with many attention starved players. I appreciate the rule about keyboard skills as poor communication is an annoyance to me but only because it seems so lazy. Come on...how hard is it to make a complete sentence?

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
(IC:human/warrior) My father was a stalwart and daunting fighter when the need arose but preferred a quieter more harmonious life. Yet decades of war, fighting for the Alliance cause and liberty have left him with more scars than peace in his life. Unlike many of his comrades who hoped for and prided themselves in fine, strong sons to carry on their legacies in battle, my father was grateful that he had none to follow in his footsteps. It was a harsh and disheartening life. The battles he was called away to never seemed to end.

His only and brightest hope was in his beautiful, precocious young daughter of whom he hoped would never know the horrors of war. Every call he answered and battle he fought to keep it from ever reaching home. Yet war came and in spite of a fathers protection, she saw. They came in numbers too daunting to count. They struck down my father in his valiant defense and in desperation my mother locked me away, begging for me to be silent and ran out to draw them away. I never saw her again nor heard tell of where she went.

I remember that day as do many others like myself, Children, left to fend for themselves and each other. In the moonlight a shard of light reflects off the broad blade of the sword in my hands. Sharp and cutting like the reflections in my mind. This sword of which my father would disapprove of. A continued legacy of battle that my father would bemoan should never be the role of such a beautiful, elegant young daughter.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

Howdy, Domesticgodess, I'm Caravan and I'd like to welcome you to Conquest of the Horde! Thank you for your story~. As a note, there's usually blood elf RP (it's quite popular on the server), and there are quite a few human storylines/guilds popping up lately that might be of interest to you!

Don't forget to /join chat and /join barrens (for all the sillies) when you get in game! If ever you need to find a GM, .gm ingame is a very handy In-game command! In addition, you can open up a ticket for the GMs.

Also, though I'm sure you already have, I suggest taking a look at our rules, policiesand these "swelltastic" guides as a way to get a feel for our server.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask. you can ask anyone else on the server (particularly our fantastic GM (Or Trial GMs) and Forum Helper staff) as we're all usually free and willing to help! You can also usually catch me lurking in-game on Cara or Xanthe; PMing me here on the forums works, too.

:) Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy your stay~!
