I've uninstalled the drivers of my laptop's integrated keyboard (although I do still get occasional glitches where random keys will fly up) and I strolled on into town today to pick up a USB plug-in one. Pending further problems, I'll open up the casing and physically disconnect the laptop's keyboard entirely. The touch-pad mouse is still a little jumpy, but I think this works well enough as a temporary fix.

So it seems I posted a thread for an indefinite absence and resolved it in under twenty-four hours. However, I will take a moment now to mention that this computer is still FUBAR. Certainly isn't what I paid £400 for in January. I'm gonna disappear for a week at some point in the next month or so, hopefully before I go to uni at the end of September, when I send this heap of crap back to the shop and put the warranty to good use.

I am suspicious that this computer's gonna do something stupid again soon, so I'll just bump this thread on my phone if anything bad happens. But in the meantime, hey.

We think it's some kind of delayed reaction to minor water damage sustained several weeks ago, which I assumed had been dealt with. If that's the case, it won't be covered by my warranty, which bites balls. Tried to get the casing open to check the HDD and motherboard for damage, but some of the screws seem stuck due to poor assembly. I can't even disassemble properly.

So I'm not really sure what to do here, guys. This might be a while.

I've dug up my brother's old desktop PC as a temporary measure until I either get the laptop repaired or purchase a suitable replacement. Given that I have my birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, I shouldn't be in any shortage for funds with which to do so when the time comes, but in the meantime I'm making do with this old girl.

I have Skype and I'm on it and I'm torrenting WoW onto it as we speak, but given that my smartphone loads things more quickly than this, I can't guarantee how much I'll be able to be in-game. :P Still, this is far better than nothing, and at least I can keep in touch with you guys until a more permanent solution arises.
