Michelle's Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Well, I'm Michelle. I've been roleplaying very seriously for about three years now. You can mainly find me back on www.thestarwarsrp.com, but now that I've upgraded my computer to play some of those popular titles out on the internet I've migrated from the typical forum roleplaying style.
I am a very serious person, but I can be fun whenever I feel like it. Simply put: 'Roleplaying is srs bizness, mkay?'

I don't cyber, I don't do romance arcs, and I don't play that 'bad b.' role. I like to have fun, and I like to develop arcs that delve farther than the simple 'what happens next' routine.

I try hard to get along well with others, and I do expect for people to extend the extra effort to get along with me as well. I am human though, and sometimes I run into people that I simply do not like. We all do. If you happen to be one such person, then I will most likely let you know honestly and straight forward. I will not be rude to you, and in the instance that we may be paired together I will most certainly work hard to get along with you.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I am from the united states, FL to be exact. I speak both English and French.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Back in the summer of 2008 I simply had nothing better to do. It stuck pretty well actually.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I really wanted to find a good server that had two things, and that would be a community that roleplays and a server that did have the level boost without the custom item crap and the item malls.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I enjoy any kinds of roleplay, however I do not enjoy every role. As mentioned above, I do not do romantic plot lines but if I were to be in one indirectly then I wouldn't have a problem.
I personally love simple things. I will work hard on a story arc, but small things really bring a roleplay to life for me.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I personally have always had problems deciding on this. I absolutely love the blood elves because of how beautiful they are, but sadly I am for the alliance (sorry hordies). I suppose I'll be a night elf or a human on this server, assuming that I can only have one character.

When it comes to class, I like to consider myself pretty classy. But maybe I just have to much class, because I surely can't figure out which one I love best. I know that I honestly don't do well as either a paladin nor a shaman. Hunters are okay, and I honestly love archers but just not in the world of warcraft setting. Priests were my first love, but again- they aren't my favorite. I can play as the warrior magnificently, and that goes as well for the warlock (affliction) and druid (restoration). I haven't really had much experience being a rogue nor a mage but I find them both fascinating and great character types with a lot of potential.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I expect to have a nice little homey server and site to come to whenever I'm not focused on my last year of high school. I hope to develop some great arcs and a great character(s). To make some friends, and to enjoy roleplaying again after being burned out on the forum-style roleplay setting for so long.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Respect.
I am a firm believer that you must give respect to earn respect, and since I'm currently the noob I expect to be shown respect regardless of my standing on the site as a newcomer, because I will surely be showing respect to anyone who comes my way.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

Quote:Though the second sun had barely risen past the horizon line as the beads of perspiration began to form on her upper lip. This was the life, the humble adventurous life that it truly is, disguised by sand and wind. It got to you eventually, and it usually started with the sweat and moved on to the sand and dirt that got beneath your fingernails and bothered you until you just couldn't take it anymore. Besides the heat and sand, it wasn't all bad though, considering that mos eisley was once noted as the most wretched congregation of scum and villainy ever... Or something along those lines. The place was a beauty, that's for sure, especially the rodians- now they knew how to party. Well... As far as rodians fixing up parts went as partying. The various shops and sands selling everything from salvaged speeder parts all the way to fruit and vegetables from the local irrigation farmers littered the sides of the road to the point of encroaching upon the people, forcing them to get so close as to be caught by some of the wares sometimes. Tattooine's rough ; Tattooine's hot ; but above all, Tattoine's where you go to get experienced. See, the biggest pit of wretchedness in the galaxy doesn't just get by abiding laws and regulations, fair game and sport; it gets by with experience, the wisdom, the street smarts, and the social darwinism that was basically forced upon all. The hard work was where it was at, too... The harder you had to work, the more you'd have to do, and the more you'd have to do the more you'd learn.

Clementine had headed here for just that reason- to become a seasoned techy / engineer, and not just a scientist. She wanted to learn by experience; trial and error, hands one. Not just theories and questions. Clementine wanted her hands to become the best...
Twin suns made it worse though, and intensified the longer lasting effect of hard work left on the body. But it didn't matter, Clementine didn't care nearly as much as she was actually bothered by the heat, which was far less than most young woman, especially those around her age. It was an upbringing of sorts, at least to her it was, here in the mos eisley junkyard. The heaps and heaps of scrap heated by the day stunk of rusted ironworks that was carried on the winds. Beyond the disgusting field of desert and dead machine that seemed so trashy lay a pool of life and of energy, just waiting to be brought up from their place as unwanted, obsolete garbage. Her hands worked hard while her mind was far off in another realm. Her hydrospanner was enough to get most of it done, but there were just some projects, and I mean the really big ones that required the large wrench. Luckily, she'd already gained sort of a reputation around mos eisley as a technical prodigy, or at least, the best damn engineer to grace this rock. It was an exaggeration, of course, but it still brought in the curiosity around town.

"Goddammit, Oranges!", Clemenitne had been occupied by a broken speeder turbine after putting it off for about a week now, and it was really beginning to wrack her nerves. "The stupid thing burnt out another capacitor. There's something wrong with the wiring, so I'm probably going to have to strip this thing down now and redo all of that too...", she said while standing up off of her knee and kicking the nuisance. As her boot came to hit the side plating of the turbine, she let out an aggravated grunt. "Ugh!"
The droid floated upwards, and semi-orbiting her coming back down to eye level, its center light flashed on and off along with squeaks and beeps.
"Oh yea... That's really funny, huh? Almost as funny as a hydrospanner between your cognitive motery core and your phase capacitor.", she was joking of course as she turned to make her way through the junkyard and back to the front of the place. She'd set up a special section of it for herself alone with all of the tools that she could need within the middle of the place beneath the shade of a broken freighter fuselage sticking halfway out of the ground. As she passed by, she tossed both the hydrospanner and the large wrench onto the table. "Alright, Oranges. Looks like we're heading out to get another capacitor... Bloody rubbish."

Heading into main street where the shops and stand were, she passed by and by the people of the day. Most of them stunk and were too dirty for words to describe, but it seemed the there technically was a small percentage of the people that regularly bathed like she did. She made her way fast through the people, knowing the right direction to go as she'd seen a few capacitors here and there over town recently, but not too many as to be spread out everywhere. Oranges struggled to fly above everyone and follow, knocking too and fro into people as it made pace to keep up with Clementine, but finally coming to a slamming halt into her as she stopped in front of one of the salvage tents. As the droid tumbled through the air all lopsided, it quickly made its balance back before hitting the ground though.
"Ah. Looks like the heat's getting to your cognitive chip again, huh? Don't worry, we'll head back home in a little bit after I grab some capacitors. Maybe a bite to eat..."

The tent owner wasn't barely pleased though, as his Ithorian grumbling didn't barely seem as offensive as his hand gestures, throwing his arms into the air as he shouted. He spoke ithor-basic, which was really just a derivative of the language with a bunch of ithorian sounds but Clementine seemed to make out what he was saying pretty okay despite the fact. "What do you want, Human girl? Your droid seems lopsided and funny, and I don't need him around my tent. People all around, probably think that you bought him from me!"
Raising her hand, Clementine halted, "I'm just looking for a couple of grade-9t capacitors and I thought I saw some here the other day. I guess not though, so i'll probably try that rodian down the way, sorry for looming."
It was a play, really, but Ithorians bought into things pretty easily as far as her own experience went... And her experience proved right this time too.
"No, girl, wait. I have grade-t9s, we can bargain."
Without any further words, Clementine threw him a chip- it was a three hundred credit mark which was probably more than enough for the big oaf's capacitors. "Thanks.", she finished off, taking the capacitors from the table, right where she knew they'd be anyways.

As she turned from the tent to continue down main street, she turned her head to Oranges, who'd seemed to cool down in the shade for a moment and was flying correctly for the time being.
"Geez... This town's just slap full of sour-puss."

That opening post came from my old site,
It contains an old character that was fun to roleplay but never really worked out for me in the end. Here is the link so that you can possibly read the entire thing. The ending was abrupt because of the person that I was roleplaying with. They wanted to finish up quickly so that they could leave the site due to some drama with others.

Howdy, MaccBear (AKA Michelle!), I'm Caravan and I'd like to welcome you to Conquest of the Horde! Thank you very much for your story -- never got the chance to do Star Wars RP myself, but I'm a big fan. Glad to welcome another Florida CotHer -- I, myself, am a Floridian (Southwest Gulf coast!) and we have quite a handful lurking around here.

Despite the name, Alliance is welcome :P and you are not bound to playing only one character at a time. (Indeed, if you fill up one account, you may petition (ticket) the Administrative Overlord Kretol for a second one).

Just in case, make sure you take a gander at our rules, policiesand these "swelltastic" guides as a way to get a feel for our server.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to PM me here on the forums. You can also usually catch me lurking in-game on Cara or Xanthe. But, really, you can ask anyone else on the server (particularly our fantastic GM and Forum Helper staff) as we're all usually free and willing to help!

Also! Don't forget to /join chat (for general server comm.) and /join barrens (for all the sillies) when you get in game! If ever you need to find a GM, .gm ingame is a very handy In-game command! Tickets also work.

:) Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy your stay~!
