Fist of the Vanir

Fist of the Vanir

"I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers' flames.
Their denizens fading without so much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and raised in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart, devoid of emotion... of empathy. I... have... felt... NOTHING! A million, million lives wasted. Had they all held within them your tenacity? Had they all loved life as you do?"
-Algalon the Observer

Purpose

"Never injure your pride by substituting your axe for a smith's hammer."

The Fist of the Vanir are a force of craftsmen, archaeologists, soldiers, priests and magic-wielders, with a common interest in the discovery, protection, research and preservation of Titanic artifacts, ruins and creations and the protection of Khaz Modan and its affiliates. Funded by the House Ironchest, the Fist is ready for military action against corrupted Titantic corruptions and those who would threaten undiscovered ruins or artifacts.

Combat is not the only option. Craftsmen of all kinds are recruited for their works. House Ironchest has gracefully filled their stocks with metals, hides and cloth with all the materials needed for a craftsman to improve his skills and to have work. Whereas those wishing to explore, will be able to find new dungeons and amazing artifacts, deep within the earth. However, cave diving is not without its dangers.

Which is why many of the fist are strong warriors, able to protect themselves and their comrades from danger while traveling in these dark dungeons.

Headquarters:

"Home is where the hearth is."

The Fist of the Vanir operate out of their main headquarters, a decent-sized dwarven bunker in Loch Modan, just by the Valley of the Kings. From there, the Fist has easy access to Ironforge and Stormwind. Which allows them to travel to Kalimdor and to Northrend without concern for personal well-being.

Recruitment:

"Certain as Ironforge still stands..."

House Ironchest wants to make sure they are getting what they are investing in, therefore the Fists of the Vanir have opted to select quality over quantity. Craftsmen are asked to bring forth a piece of their work and so forth. The Fist accepts only Alliance members, primarily dwarves.

OOC: Any Alliance member can join, but there will be a mini-event for us to do so that our characters can meet and the formalities done.

Upon induction into the Fist of the Vanir, the aspirant is given a Tin ring.

Ranks:

"Discussion gathers no gems."

Thane: Thane Munin Ironchest, the mountain king, is the leader of the Fist. More of a judge than a leader, he listens to the word of the members before making a decision.

Thorium: Thorium is a well respected and very powerful metal. As such, those with thorium encrusted in their earring are well respected members of the Fist and are considered more knowledgeable than any below. They act as officers and both oversee the Fist and advise the Thane.

Mithril: Mithril is a very popular metal in dwarven culture, due to its strength and surprisingly light weight. Those with mithril encrusted in their earring act as experts in their field.

Bronze: The Vanir were bronze-skinned titans, tougher than the very earth itself. This acts as the veteran member rank. Upon reaching this rank, the member is given the honorary Bronze Hoop Earring, a trophy and a gift of thanks for their work so far with the Fist.

Copper: Copper is one of the materials required to make Bronze. The standard members of the Fist who have not spent enough time with the Fist or are inexperienced. They are given a Copper Ring.

Tin: Tin is the other material required to make Bronze. Brand new members are placed here until they have completed their first expedition or work. They are given a Tin Ring.

Aspirant: Someone who wishes to join but has yet to be tested. These are people who have spoken with either an officer or the thane.

Rules:

"Between the pickaxe and the rockface..."

The members of the Fist are expected to follow the laws of the lands where they are staying. They are also expected to be as peaceful as possible when traversing Horde lands... But accidents happen.

Since the Fist of the Vanir is not based on military organizations, any command from the Thane is subject to change. Therefore, votes may take place if others find the orders to be immoral or improper.

OOC: Obviously, all the server rules apply!

"Perhaps it is your imperfection that which grants you free will. That allows you to persevere against cosmically calculated odds. You prevailed where the Titans' own perfect creations have failed."

Saving for future stuffs!
