Dew's introduction

First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:I'm the sister of Rem, long time avid gamer and artist. Call me De. I love games so much there’s very few I wouldn't play at least once, but there is something about MMO's and role-playing games catch me the most. Games that make you feel apart of a different world with its own progressive story. When you stick role-playing, “Mass multi-player online”, and fantasy realism together with an awesome story (like WOW) I can't resist it.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:I come from the land of "Usa" and speak "'Mercan". Also known as America and English.

How did you get into Warcraft?: I've heard about Warcraft, but only played on the original servers for a little while after "the Burning Crusade".
By a little while I mean a whole week. My computer died and I had to go without PC games and videos from the interwebs on a decently sized screen.
What little I played of WOW had me hooked, and it sucked I didn't get to play it. A few years latter I was given an old computer from my aunt and I thought it
was pure, glorious, hope incarnate. I later discovered it ran WOW like it was stop-motion photography. Skip ahead to the present and I'm back for a thrid try.
This time on a laptop that runs Warcraft perfectly.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?: Caught Rem playing late one night and she spoke highly of the server.
We share the same love of RP games and I trust her judgment. I had been talking about finding a good game to play and having watched Rem play a few times
I knew I had to join too.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:There’s no kind of role-play I wouldn't enjoy if it was done well. The great thing about role-play is there are so many possibilities. I enjoy making characters and "feeling" out what kind of person I think they are and role-playing them accordingly. I love Open-RP where anyone can join, and I like playing my character progressively. Each IC encounter has the potential of affecting the way I evolve that character. Maybe my character stops liking magic after she watches a mage abuse his power, or develops some other odd quirk or mindset.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?: You can't make me answer this question. It's cruel to make me pick just one. I really do love all the races, and
I've not played all the classes yet to properly choose one of those.

What are your expectations of this server?: I don't have any, really. That might seem odd, but I like going into something with no expectations. It makes me all the more excited when it turns out to be awesome.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:Respect is by far the winner. It's not something you see on video games very often, let alone on the internet, but I feel it's the most fundamentally important. It is intrinsically connected to every other rule and can be the easiest to break – not just on video games like this one, but in real life as well. I suspect the overseers of the server feel the same as it’s not only listed first, but is explained with fervor. Bravo.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!: In a quaint grove, framed nicely by mountains and hills sat the small town Andrew called home. It was the kind of settlement without a name; kept running only by the labor of its inhabitants. Andrew, a young kid of a mere 10 years old, was spritely and willing to help. Each day he’d wake and do the choirs his mother gave him. This beautifully clear day was no different, but the choir was his favorite; Mushroom hunting. Armed only with a worn, hand-me-down pack and the branch of an old oak tree Andrew took off after one of the many caves dotting the mountain face careful to keep an eye out for any tasty fungus along the way.

He reached the first small cave, some distance from town, and plucked quite a handful of mushrooms. Pleased by such a promising start Andrew left for the next cave, eager to find more. Upon reaching this second cave little Andrew was surprised to see not fungus, but the remains of a make shift camp. Curious, Andrew dropped his small bag of mushrooms outside the cave and went in to inspect the camp. It was left in a hurry, and seemed to have accommodated only one person. The fire was burnt out, not snuffed and there where empty mugs scattered about. Andrew, having an uneasy feeling, knew the sun had already begun setting and he’d better get home and tell someone about what he found.

As he turned to go, he paused to see a faint light bouncing round outside, coming from a source he did not yet see, and the sound of light foot steps slapping rock. Assuming his father had come to find him Andrew called out “I’m in here! Come, come see this!” The pace of the footsteps picked up and the candle finally reached out to illuminate the cave with its flicker, but it was not his father standing there. Instead it was an old, gangly little Kobold holding the candle with a wicked grin “Me see you!” it said before taking a few steps inside. “We get you, make nice candle from fat like before!” it added with glee before flinging itself at the boy.

(Well, do you have a better explanation on how Kobolds make their candles?)

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?: Yes. I’m a bit of a nooblet (Noob just sounds better when you stick a few letters after it. Like “Noobling”.) As such, I’d like to apologize for not knowing a great deal about the game. I’m a quick learner, though!

Howdy, Dew (or De!), I'm Caravan and I'd like to welcome you to Conquest of the Horde! Thank you for your story -- I'll add "being turned into a candle by Kobolds" to my list of possible nightmares ;). I like your stance on progressive RP -- should be a goal for most to create dynamic characters that grow and change with each RP session!

Don't worry about being a nooblet or noobling -- we all had to start somewhere! Just make sure you take a gander at our rules, policiesand these "swelltastic" guides as a way to get a feel for our server.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to PM me here on the forums. You can also usually catch me lurking in-game on Cara or Xanthe. But, really, you can ask anyone else on the server (particularly our fantastic GM and Forum Helper staff) as we're all usually free and willing to help!

Also! Don't forget to /join chat (for general communication) and /join barrens (for all the sillies) when you get in game! If ever you need to find a GM, .gm ingame is a very handy In-game command! Tickets also work.

:) Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy your stay~!
