First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Hello there. My name is Fordred (Not irl, obviously), I'm a 16 year old ex-video game enthusiast (I Guess that's the hip and cool way to say I used to be a huge PC game nerd ^^). I'm fairly new to the WoW scene compared to most people I know and I've seen post here, never actually set foot inside a legit WoW server, so all my experience has been in private servs with friends.
What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm from Romania, so my first language is obviously, you know, Romanian. My English is quite good, or so I like to believe, so won't have trouble communicating with people imo.
How did you get into Warcraft?:
A friend and I really got into role playing on another online game, but that kinda fell off, so we looked at other games to try to roleplay in. We tried many, many games, until we settled on Warcraft 3, which was a game he really was into and I was meh about it. So I started playing it again, finished it, absolutely loved it. We kept roleplaying on maps I made or modified for many months, had a blast (I highly recommended) so I fell in love with the warcraft universe; WoW seemed like the natural next step.
How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
Google search; I settled on this one since it's the only server I see that is actually still active, whose players and staff seem mature, and that's set in WOTLK instead of Cata.
What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Having RPed with that one friend for so much, we started making these grandiose stories, that affected the entire universe our story was set in, since it was just us and we could afford to do so, which means I like my roleplay to be really story-driven, preferably have a lot of action and, most of all, character (psychological) development and exploration. That stuff's fascinating.
I won't write myself as Arthas' long lost son though, and I'm not ignorant to "tavern RP", I've had plenty experience with that.
What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Humans, because most other races are very cliche, whilst humans can be honorable, can be no good thieves, can be arrogant mages, power hungry independent warlocks and it wouldn't seem out of place for their race.
I don't really have a favorite class, but my first real character (And the one I'll be playing here most likely) was a mage, and I've written a lot about him, kept changing and retconning things about his story, and have come, in the process, to really like the magi mentality and culture.
What are your expectations of this server?:
I only really need people to interact with who are able to balance putting themselves in the spotlight, and hanging back letting others take the lead in certain stories and such. I expect to be treated right, since I'll try to do so to others.
Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The one about respect. What bothers me the most in real life, online and anywhere else are people who are douches for no reason/just for funzeeez, since that kind of attitude can ruin stuff. Won't go into too much detail, it's a good rule.
Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
((Not to sound too snobby, but this is a small bit from a story I wrote (and lost) about a character a while ago. sorry for the tl/dr-ness.))
Finally, somewhat back in control of his breathing patterns, he slightly cracked the closet door to see if the slaughter had stopped. The loud thumping and screaming still pummeled at his ears, but he was fairly certain the monstrosity that broke into his home had long since searched for new flesh to devour.
He slowly opened it and walked outside, only to have his heart nearly stop in place; his family all lay on the ground, eyes and mouths open, flesh disgustingly bitten from their bodies. The young man barely stopped himself from throwing up on the remains of what used to be his little brothers right beside him.
After what seemed like an eternity, he got back control over his body, and quickly jumped towards the door. His path was blocked by a wooden beam that fell over, too big for him to squeeze out besides it; he had to push it out of the way.
Searching for a position to do so, he heard a heavy moan. Father? Could it be..? Could he have survived the grotesque invader? But how? He had half of his head taken off in one bit, and the res--
Blinking, he saw what lay before him. A travesty of all that exists, an ugly stain on the fabric of the universe, a sight impossible to look at.
His father.
Or, what was left of him.
Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I just wanted to know what the curreny timeline is. Is the Lich Kind dead, has the human expedition barely arrived in Northrend, has Anub'Arak been finally defeated in TOC etc.
Otherwise, sorry for the extremely long answers ( I tend to get carried away, and I didn't really know how to shorten them. I'm really not that up tight, just couldn't find a way to say what I wanted to in a shorter form.), and hope to see you all in game.
