Nysette's Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I guess I'm all about the stories and the people. I love the social aspect of WoW, and never really paid much attention to end-game stuff.
Other people's characters fascinate me, the way they've built them, where they started, why they chose what they did. It's like they're all little puzzles.
Finding the bigger, more complex puzzles, and trying to see the whole picture, is what I like to do best.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm Danish, but I've lived in the UK for about six years now, so I suppose I'm bi-lingual, although I rarely speak Danish anymore.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
When WoW was still teething and in the testing stages, I heard of this awesome new MMO and I applied to get into the Beta. Joined the Final Beta with my partner, and was hooked ever since. I have, however, had some time away a couple of times, mostly due to monetary issues.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
A couple of friends of mine recommended CotH, and looking up private RP servers now (a couple of years later) it popped up again, and I figured this must be the best there is.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I'm mostly a 1on1 kind of girl, but I do enjoy larger gatherings as well. I don't like stories on rails (predetermined story-lines), as I find them too restricting and mostly a bit over the top, if that makes sense. I much prefer to just go with the flow, sticking to preset guidelines, such as a character's likes, dislikes, phobias, experience etc.
Letting my character guide Me, rather than the other way around.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I'm a rogue at heart, there's no point denying that *grins* I'm a bit of a hoarder, and I like sneaking around.
As for race.. Although I don't feel, that I have a favourite, I always seem to end up as Human. I guess it just feels most comfortable.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I expect RP. I hope I'll find something that suits me, but I don't expect it to just drop in my lap. My character will be built around seeking it out.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
"do not make a character that is 'more powerful than everyone else.'"
I have had way too much of that on the official servers. Really looking forward to a place where people have a little bit of common sense.
It'll also be nice to be in a place, where I can actually understand people (Keyboard Skills). I'm perfectly fine with people misspelling things, but I always disliked abbreviations.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
This will be the beginning to my character on this server, if approved of course.
I'm not really a writer, but she will be. Hope it's okay.

Nysette knew it was getting late, not that she could tell by the light; It was always slightly dingy in the back rooms of the Hall of Explorers, where she sat copying ancient books and tablets for public use. Her concentration was waning and she was getting irritable. She'd accidentally knocked over an ink pot, and spoiled her copy of "Kel'Thuzad and the Forming of the Scourge", which had taken her longer than usual, as she kept cringing and shuddering at the thought of necromancy and the faces of the dead.
Rushing to stop the flow of ink from reaching the originals, she'd gotten several new stains on her robes, and her hands were black as the Earth Warder.
She had had to start all over again. Not even one page could be salvaged from the mess. She was cursing her misfortune, as she walked towards the storage room to find a new stack of parchment.
Nysette rubbed her forehead and yawned, crossing the hall without really paying attention. She'd lived in Ironforge all her life, and the Hall of Explorers was more home to her than her modest accommodation above one of the nearby shops. She spent every waking hour here, and knew it so well she could walk around blindfolded. So, she didn't expect anything to be in her way, let alone a large round boulder in the middle of the hallway.
The next thing she knew, she was lying on the floor, looking up at a scarred and grinning face.
"Are you alright girl? That was one hell of a maneuver. Where'd you learn that?"
Nysette couldn't believe someone could be so rude to find her tumble amusing. Although, now that she could remember what had happened, it must have looked rather interesting, the way she had somersaulted over the boulder.
She groaned and sat up, with the help of the still grinning woman.
"I'm alrigh' yeah. 'S tha' yours then?" Nysette said and nodded towards the big rounded, oddly egg shaped... "Yeah, isn't she a beauty? It's a Devilsaur egg."
The woman walked over and stroked the egg as she spoke.
Nysette's eyes widened and she stared at the egg and the woman, trying to take it all in. The egg was balancing on a metal stand, and looked like a large, greenish, egg-shaped lump of granite, with patches and lines of white and brown.
The woman wore tight leather leggings, a simple, sleeveless shirt, a harness and a belt with a lot of pockets and satchels attached. She had a big knife in a scabbard by her thigh and a grubby piece of checkered cloth hanging around her neck. Her arms and face were covered in scars, and she could see a particularly large one reach from her left shoulder and down across her back, disappearing under her shirt.
"I didn' kno there was any Female explorers. I always wanted ter be one" She said, still wide-eyed and now extremely alert.
The woman chuckled and turned to look at Nysette with a glint in her eye.
"Well.. what's stopping you?"

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
The Wiki is pretty comprehensive *smiles* I think I'm okay.

Hello! I'm flammos200(Just Flammos is fine too.), and it's my pleasure to welcome you to CoTH!

Now, be sure to read up on the Rules and Policies if you haven't already, and if you need help Creating a Character, you can find some on the Wiki, or take a gander at some of the Profiles there, to familiarize yourself with some of the people you might meet on CoTH.

Other than that, I can safely say you'd be a brilliant addition to the community. Your conceptions of character-centric storylines, the bigger picture formed out of puzzle-like bits and details and 1-on-1 roleplay are ones I admire and put into practice as often as possible. I couldn't approve more, regardless of how many green stamps I were given. And, thanks for the story!

But hey, if you need any more help or have any more questions, feel free to PM a GM or Forum Helper like yours truly. Seriously. PMs never killed anyone... yet.

See you around!

*blushes furiously* Thank you so so much. I was really nervous... worried that I might not fit in, but it seems I'm in luck. This is the most amazing welcome I've ever gotten anywhere. Thank you ❤

Hi and thanks to you too WingedReaver. I'm sure we'll bump into each other soon enough *smiles*

Welcome to CotH, I'd be pleased to offer you an RP as well!
Hand me some feedback!
Spoiler:
Quote:I don’t want you to protest,
I don’t want you to riot,
I don’t want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write.
I don’t know what to do about the depression and
the inflation and the crime in the Streets.
All I know is that first, you’ve got to get mad.

You’ve got to say:
I’m a Human being God damn it !
*MY LIFE HAS VALUE!*
