Wealth or Death
#1
[Image: 2ekt6k2.png]

Wealth or Death, a simple choice. To the Gladiators, it’s a life story. To win in the arena means eternal glory and wealth. To lose... Well, let’s just say they will have another choice: Last meal?

Ranks in the Arena:

Arena Master (Grandall) - Organizes and watches over the battles. Orders the killing blow, and gives out the prizes. He is the head of the organization, and if challenged, would gladly accept. Though, there are many to replace him if he is struck down in battle.

Arena Guard - Guards the entrance to the arena, and makes sure the entering gladiator or audience member has an Underground Pass. (Underground Passes are in the pockets of all guild members). Arena Guards can also be persuaded in the ways of gold (IC Currency) to allow people in.

Gladiator Vet - Those who have won at least one (1) arena match or tournament. They are usually wealthy, due to their wins, and wise in the ways of the gladiator arts.

Gladiator - New entrants to the gladiator ring. They paid the price of entrance: The risk of their life being taken brutally from them.

Audience Member - They has a Underground Pass, and can watch any game for free. They enjoy watching others die... How cruel.

Arena: Gurubashi Arena will be the arena that this guild takes place. This is due to the fact that it is the only arena with good seating. Even if this is more of an ‘underground’ guild, the arena is still Gurubashi.

Prizes: The winners of tournaments will get amazing benefits. Guild Rank, IC Currency, and some items. The winners of matches will get Items, and a Guild Rank.

RULES:

Roll Type: /roll 100, No crits, No counters, 10 HP. (5 HP for tournaments).

Character Warnings: 100% Character Warnings if it’s a 1v1 match. For tournaments, you will only be knocked out, due to so many players entering. We don’t want a blood bath.

No cheating: So... Yeah... Don’t Metagame, Powerplay, anything like that, obviously. All OOC / IC CoTH rules apply!

REMEMBER: Do not create throw-away characters. This is against CoTH rules, and is not tolerated. Basically, only put character in this guild if you don't play them anymore and don't really care if they die.

Gambling In The Arena:

Whispers of high stakes are exchanged in the tavern, aboard ships and even amongst the nobility. Whispers of gold to be had... or lost. The chance to take part in the deadly action, to share in the victory of your favorite fighter. The chance to become wealthy without breaking a sweat.

The rumor bears a name.

"Raloesh."

Alright as you likely have already surmised, in addition to the arena combat, characters can also place wagers on their favored fighters in the form of IC currency. All wagers will be collected prior to the match and I will personally be keeping track of the spread to insure that that winners are paid correctly. A ten percent house cut is taken from the winner's WINNINGS (The initial wager is returned intact.) We will be starting with wagers ranging between one and five silver and may increase the max wager depending on the audiance's preference as well as the number of participants. Anyone can participate in the gambling with the exception of the current fighters to insure fair play. (Honestly it wouldn't matter because they are roll fights but it just seems wrong. They could in theory make their wagers through a proxy :p) Anyone who wishes to get involved should seek out Raloesh prior to each match.

I am using a standard spread to organize the math but there may be special events or tournaments where either the stakes are higher or I utilize a different spread. I will notify of any changes when an event is announced. Also if anyone else is interested in my method, just shoot me a pm and I'll send you the write up.

I'm just gonna one up this guild. I had a gladiator a little while ago but didn't really use him since no one wanted to fight him.. So I turned him into a Blood Knight. Too bad, really. Nice guild!

I'm interested in this. I did something along these lines back in 2009 but they were illegal dogfights. More specifically I already have a method for handling Large scale IC wagers if you would like to see gambling at the events. Otherwise, I'd still like to get some characters involved. I love the 10hp for 1vs1 thats awesome.

Gabril would gladly fund tournaments and events so long as he gets to keep 20% of the winnings.

Though I'll probably end up tossing someone in the tournaments. Could be fun to have Kirolan engage in bloody battles.

Awesome, my ledger just got more complicated lol. By the way, the spread method should be in your PM box. I decided a guard role would be best for my character as adverse to an audience member.

Sweet. I'm glad that people will be joining. Everyone add 'Grandall' and whisper me whenever I'm online with the character you want to put into the Guild. I'll be on in about an hour or two, and hopefully we can get a few gladiators welcomed. (:
