Mithos Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
There is really not much to tell, I am a fellow who practices many different skill-sets and does odd-jobs, I enjoy video gaming more than I do most real life activities and I like to meet new people and get to know them.

I've been gaming since I was three, if that is at all of interest, other than that im a pretty plain individual.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
America/English

How did you get into Warcraft?:
When I was young I watched my uncle playing warcraft I, so when it was first released I bought Warcraft II and began playing it -- since I have been a fan of the series.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
My friend Night. And yes, Roleplaying -- I used to be a part of the Ultima Online roleplaying community, but unfortunately some of us are having to accept our player-base has dwindled to the point we have perhaps 200 players amongst all the UO:RP servers, and about 10-30 individually. I just want to be part of a large RP community again.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
All kinds! However, my favorite tend to revolve around a conflict, since if I intended to relax I have a couch for that. Though I also enjoy tavern-RP and exploring the worlds' story as it changes.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
For WoW? None. This is because the particular combination I most prefer does not exist within WoW, however I feel a paladin might fulfill my interests quite well despite this, as for race I enjoy ones that are under-dogs.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Truthfully, I would like to see this server possibly diverge from the path that Blizzard is presently on -- specifically because LIVE is not made for role-play. Your character nor any characters upon it are special or change-provoking and it wasn't arranged to consider that possibility, so seeing the story take a different direction and Arthas play a more significant role could be of great interest.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?: Staying in character.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

((This is not his full history but a brief summary, I felt that would be better than a story. :3 ))

... A hundred and forty two, it had been -- the more recent decades having seemed even more chaotic and filled with strife and change than his entire first century of living although during that time his watching the rise of the horde as a younger elf he believed it would surely be the most eventful thing he had seen in his life... he had been wrong.

Time passed and the second war between the alliance and the orcs had begun and Mithos served his people, and the alliance, once again in battle wielding his blade as a warrior for his people -- but the course of the war was and is commonly known history, his own proved different and in some ways similar than the well recorded documents of better known soldiers and men.

Mithos had a unadorned childhood, working beneath a blacksmith of Quel'thalas to aid in forging arrow tips, and very rarely blades, for use against the much despised Amani trolls.

During this time Mithos' only chance for training martial-skills was in private by using techniques he'd notice being used by quel'dori who were duelling or sparring; his first opportunity to prove his ability in combat came when he was a young age of 54.

Mithos was delivering some supplies to a barracks and found it to be under attack by invading trolls, he had narrowly avoided one of the amani's thrown axes -- stealing it from the tree it became lodged in and waiting around a corner for the amani to come looking for him only for the troll to be met by Mithos lodging the axe he had taken into the right side of the troll between it's ribs, remaining out of sight with the dying troll until the guards were able to quell the other threats and receive their supplies receiving him a commendation on his stopping the troll, albeit only one.

The commendation would be enough for Mithos to be allowed to train alongside the guards from time to time, gaining the opportunity to formerly hone his combat skills and this would serve him well when he eventually joined as a young albeit matured elf at the age of 121 in the battle against the horde in the first wars as a rookie-soldier; managing to gain much experience and first-hand knowledge of warfare during the battles when the orcs pursued the humans north to Lordaeron, Mithos being among several of the elven soldiers used in the battle.

A major turning point in Mithos' life would be during the battles against the daunting death knights and ogre magi of the horde after his people had lost the rune stone; the human soldiers claiming to 'Serve the way of the Light' intruiged Mithos, and during a brief meeting during the battle of Darrowmere, Uthers' impression upon Mithos would prove considerable the young quel'dori would begin studying the path of the light to protect the weak and needy of his own people -- but with the destruction of the mystical portal Mithos' would be called on to act as a mentor and guardian for Quel'thalas during the times of the Alliance invading the Dark Portal.

As peace eventually befell the lands Mithos' spent a number of years working within the Order of the Silverhand aiding to quell the threat of rogue ogres, stray daemon from the old wars, and to hunt remaining death knights.

Mithos would return to aid the Order and to try to fight against the scourge but with the destruction of the Sunwell he would retreat into fasting to control his lust for fel powers, trying desperately to suppress the hunger; his retreat into such resulting in a loss of physical strength as a consequence and leaving him in a difficult situation where he must steel himself if he hopes to walk the path of light properly and seek to prove that not all of his Sin'dori brethren are as lost within the darkness as many view them to be.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Not particularly, I apologize if my story isn't too well done, im better at active RP moreso than posts because I have nothing to respond to when writing a story from just history.

A belated 'Welcome'! I know we talked a bit on IRC, but feel free to review the Rules, FAQs, and rest of the Wiki if you're still in the process of installing the game.

There's a few other useful threads in the Server Info and Policies forum, though a bit of that information is also on the Wiki. For quick reference, the Connecting to the Server global announcement has a lot of info as well, though I know you've already taken a look at that.

Again, welcome!
