First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I'm a storyteller first and foremost- I've been the DM and ST for pretty much every game I've ever been a part of, so when I get a chance to actually just play, I like to dive headfirst into the story and see what others have come up with.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
USA, so English!

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I started WoW a few years ago as just "something to do", but was quickly awed by the sheer size of the world.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I found this site after playing a number of years on a private PVP server that did not offer an RP option. After speaking with a number of friends I've recently made who are interested in WoW but really want an RP server, I did a quick google search. You guys are ranked number one for "Private WoW RP Server"!

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
As a fan of improvisational theater of all kinds, I enjoy any roleplay that helps develop a character and tell the story of that character's passing from point A to B. As the Dungeon Master for my D&D group and the Storyteller for the local Vampire: the Masquerade LARP, I tend to get to see a lot of stories from the top down, so when I get to play, I like to play characters who don't know anything and learn it as they go.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
The Blood Elf speaks to me as a person, because of my own proclivities; I'm a fairly learned person, and I like to play learned characters. In terms of pure roleplay potential, the Warlock comes built in with its own constructive conflict device: mastering that which makes others cringe in fear or turn in disgust.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I hope to learn a lot more about the lore of Azeroth- I admit my own knowledge of the subject is somewhat lacking. I also hope that I'll be able to get myself involved in some interesting plotlines that'll keep me and my friends coming back. Mostly, though, I want to tell the interesting story my friends and I created for a set of characters all connected to each other.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The requirement to prove Lore and story-telling ability before even getting on the server. I know that when I log in for the first time, I will be among like-minded individuals... And that I will never ever have to deal with K3wL_N1nJ46969 begging me for gold while I'm trying to explain the finer details of the sub-etheric matrix to a common warrior!

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

Hey. You there. Yeah, you. You look new and dumb. Got time for a story? Whad'ya mean, 'Why am I in the sewers'? This ain't the sewers, it's a drainage ditch, and nevermind why I'm in the drainage ditch.

No? Fine, sod off then. See if I care if you live or die.

Oh, now you wanna listen to the voice from drainage ditch. Well, good. If you're gonna be muckin' around here, you might as well know the score. So, you're a vampire. Whoop-de-doo. You may or may not know this, but us blood-suckers tend to belong to one of two groups: the Camarilla or the Sabbat. I'm not gonna go into details about what they are- mostly 'cause you ain't got nothing to pay me for it- but you stand in the pretty unenviable position of belonging to neither of these. You're what's called an Anarch.

No, that doesn't mean you go around espousing chaos and setting buildings on fire. I mean, some do, but try to have a little class.

So. You're an Anarch. Or maybe not. Maybe you're a Cammie Spy, or a Sabbat Priest come to eat my soul. But if ya ain't one of these two things, then you're probably an Anarch, and you're probably wondering why you should care.

Well, here's why: You mean absolutely nothing to anyone with any real power, and that includes everyone who isn't an Anarch. Usually that means you gotta stay wherever the the big boys tell you to stay. For some reason, that ain't the case here in San Marcos. I don't know why- or maybe I do but, again, nothing to pay me with- this land is your land; belongs to you losers and no one else. Your own honest-to-goodness slice of paradise and you get to do whatever you want with it.

But still, you ask, what does that mean to YOU?

It means you got a shot at bein' someone here. You could be a big dog, or puppet master, or whatever else you want to be, because the Elders with all the power and the money? They ain't here no more.

It's your city, now, and it changes based on what you do with it. A city-territory, domain, whatever- is more than just a handful of buildings and the bloodbags that populate it: it's a livin', breathin', THING and it'll do to you what you do to it. It's a City of Resonance, and every step you takes gonna resonate one way or the other.

So, yeah. That's all I got for you right now, so you can go ahead and do whatever stupid thing you were about to do.

Why am I helping you? Well, I wouldn't really call it helping.

More like, making it interesting...

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

The above excerpt is taken from a short story written for the V:tM LARP held in Texas. I edited it for content, but apologize for the slight off-topic-ness.

Hello! I'm flammos200(Just Flammos is fine too.), and it's my pleasure to welcome you to CoTH!

Now, be sure to read up on the Rules and Policies if you haven't already, and if you need help Creating a Character, you can find some on the Wiki, or take a gander at some of the Profiles there, to familiarize yourself with some of the people you might meet on CoTH.

Other than that, trust me when I say I've known the path of the DM for a while now, and the going can get tough if you haven't the right people or the right skills. Thankfully, I've been blessed with the former - I've only a subjective opinion the latter, and those don't count. It's nice to see someone that enjoys the World of Darkness - Oh, and you'll find no shortage of BElf RPers around - and there are some exceptionally good ones around, hear you me...

As for the Lore, we're all constantly learning. Our own Articles and Guides forum may be of assistance in such endeavors, but much information can be gleaned even from IC posts. Also! Thank you for the story! It doesn't matter what setting it's written in, just so y'know. We're just looking for writing skill. /nod

But hey, if you need any more help or have any more questions, feel free to PM a GM or Forum Helper like yours truly. Seriously. PMs never killed anyone... yet.

See you around!

That depends; Did that person die or not?

I dunno, you'd have to ask Xigo. Haven't heard from dude in question in a while, though.
