Gnomish Expeditionary Unit
Formed by Charmian Manaweaver, due to the lack of funds within the Gnomish Treasury, it is not an official branch of the Gnomish Military. Due to this, all subjects who are under the rule of The Grand Alliance are allowed to join. Most funding will be coming from donations, and if the G.E.U. does not raise enough in donations they will seek out investors who may want a cut of what they find, so if you want to be involved, but not accompany the G.E.U., then the latter is for you. Volunteers will be accepted first, and if not enough join then payment may be given to those who demand it.
Goals:
The goals of the G.E.U. mainly to be searching for anything to bring glory to Gnomeregan, the primary goal is to find anything to bring either technological advancement, new found knowledge, or a form of payment/income for the Gnomish Treasury. Of course, these interests are also in the interests of The Grand Alliance regarding the gnomes' future capabilities in fighting The Horde.
Ranks:
G.E.U. Overseer:
Charmian Manaweaver being the main commander, and organizer of the G.E.U., others of substantial commanding abilities are also sought out if the numbers grow too large for Charmian to command alone. Gnomes are preferred, but other races may be given such a rank.
Chief Engineer:
The Chief Engineer of the G.E.U. will be second-in-command, especially over the other engineers who are accompanying the G.E.U. If the Overseer(s) are gone for anytime, the Chief Engineer is given command over the rest of the unit and their doings. There is only one Chief Engineer.
Record Keepers
The Record Keepers aren't in any position of power, but they are important to the documentation of any finds uncovered by the G.E.U. They are also expected to ensure that the necessary funds and supplies are maintained in order to keep the G.E.U. from being disbanded. Any race can apply to be in this position.
G.E.U. Operator
G.E.U. Operators are the various engineers, tinkerers, gadgeteers, gyrocopter pilots and whatever other professions others have. Anyone who operates machinery, is skilled with operating a mechanism or vehicle is placed in this branch of the G.E.U. They do not always have to fight on the front lines, but it is desired for them to be able to operate some form of machinery to provide offensive fire.
Unit Members
A regular unit member being a part of this ranking, they are the foundation and largest sect of the G.E.U. With any Alliance race able to join, it is compromised mostly of gnomes and dwarves. Engineers, Footmen, Scouts, Magi and all others are considered to just be Unit Members, there is no real advancement beyond this rank.
Exploration Areas:
With the primary funding being from donations and/or investors, the 5 largest investors/donors will meet with Charmian and discuss where the G.E.U. will deploy to. The options being within Northrend, it will be whether the investors/donors want to explore Titan ruins, or search for forms of income and profit.
