Spoiler:
I would like to thank Reigen for her remarkable work on beautifying the guild post and muhaha8's contribution to the content of said post.

"This is not for idle hands, nor prying eyes. Information must not be lost. But it must not be used unwisely. Stay your hand, friend, or proceed - if you know the way."

Who are we?

The Echo of Antonidas is a group of magi with a focus on knowledge and education. The future is upon us, and we must be prepared to educate those in our art who would otherwise have no one to teach them. We bring in those from all branches of society, with mentors and apprentices alike grouped together. We take in anyone and everyone who wishes to learn, as a symbol of our beliefs: Arcane is a tool for all, not just the privileged.

What do we do?

The Echo spends half its time studying, training and aiding each other in the pursuit of a higher level of understanding of the Arcane. They travel to all corners of the known world, seeking out artifacts and anomalies to aid them in their goals. However, only half the True Path of the Arcane comes in the gathering of knowledge; the other half comes in exercising the knowledge one gains. The Echo chooses to exercise its knowledge in the defense of others, acting as stalwart defenders in this broken world we now inhabit. We are not afraid of blood and war, and do not hide in our tower, only to watch the world around us die. We fight to protect it and its inhabitants, as it is the only way to finish ones journey down the True Path of the Arcane.

Where are we located?

The Echo has taken up residence in a tower along the mountainous region of Azshara. Said tower has been restored to liveable conditions and provides students and teachers alike a place to live, should they choose to, while they go about their daily tasks. It is equipped with a plethora of useful features to aid in the education of its inhabitants.

How do you contact us?

You may send a letter to Edgar J. Barlton or Meradeth J. Bertram or visit us at our Tower in Azshara if you have any inquiries or if you wish to join us.

Ranks

The ranks in the Echo are as follows, from highest to lowest:
  • Librarian
  • Index
  • Dusty Pages
  • Open Book
  • Open Mind

The Librarian: The head of the Echo, the Librarian looks after the guild as a whole and has final say in all matters relating to the guild. Current Occupant: Edgar J. Barlton

The Index: The right-hand to the Librarian, the Index is in-charge of inter-guild relations and student discipline in extreme cases. They are also given the same rights and duties that the Librarian has, should he or she be absent. Current Occupant: Meradith J. Bertram

The Dusty Pages: The veterans of the institution, the Dusty Pages were once mentors and teachers who have taught their students all they can. They are predominantly the researchers and field operatives, seeking out ancient artifacts and continuing their studies in topics that interest them. Anyone who is much too skilled to be a student, and whom is not teacher material may sign on as a researcher under this rank.

The Open Books: The teachers, mentors and instructors of the Echo, the Open Books are assigned an apprentice to share their knowledge with. While an Open Book usually only takes on one apprentice, they can be assigned two if the need arises. We believe that this one-on-one style of education gives our students full attention and devotion.

The Open Minds: The students of the Echo, the Open Minds are just that: sponges who are there to absorb as much information as possible from their assigned mentor. Being studious, ambitious, and devoted to their training will put an Open Mind on the right path to Arcane perfection.

Rules:

Respect is key to a functioning student-teacher relationship, or any relationship for that matter. Be respectful to all members of the Echo and you won't be reprimanded.

Open Books are expected to train their assigned students to the best of their ability, and the Open Minds are likewise responsible for putting in as much effort as possible into your studies. Failure to do so will result in a discussion with the Librarian and Index to decide if punishments are to be given.

Duels must be supervised by either an Open Book or one of the higher-ups. Should one or both of the participants show clear signs of intentionally attempting to cripple, maime, torture or kill the other, the guilty party will be put under investigation and will potentially be expelled from the school. No exceptions.

The practice of warlockery, Shadow magic, or necromancy will result in immediate expulsion. The subject will be handed over to the proper authorities. No exceptions.

The intentional destruction or defilement of Echo property by any member will result in a monetary fine and a meeting with the Index for any further punishment.

OOC Rules

Of course, all server rules apply. Anything you cannot get away with on the server, you cannot get away with in this guild. No exceptions.

Nope!

EDIT: But! Of course, one of these individuals -could- technically apply to the Echo under the guise of a mage. But should they be found out, the above rule shall be followed. We also only teach the Arcane at this time.

Necromancy is Arcane, but it is banned as a forbidden magic. Considering this school is public, they too also ban necromancy.

Edited the main post. Changed the 'Dusty Pages' rank description for those researchers who would like to join the guild.

A big thanks to Loxy for reminding me to edit the post.

Question! Do you accept pyromancer's as students? Because I have a lovely person who is looking for a school of magic, she is also interested in learning Arcane but is proficient in pyromancy. It's a trait she gets from her brother.

I believe they accept most anyone who practices or otherwise wants to learn more about the Arcane arts as a student so long as you apply to either of the two "leaders" and complete an interview (usually, though I'm not sure if they interview everyone). Just contact Edgar/Reigen to set up something in-game (as they play the two higher-ups).
