Chaosfire116's Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
My name is Austyn and I'm from California. I like to stay to myself, but when in a group I think I can be quite humorous. I am a great fan of role-playing in games and have been doing so for years.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I come to Azeroth from The United States. The one and only language I know is English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Well, I started playing WoW six years ago when my brother showed it to me. A few years later I came across role-playing and it soon turned out to be one of the funnest things about the game. Since then, I have only found one Role-Playing server that I actually enjoyed, however it was taken down a long time ago. So now I have decided to search for a new server to quench my thirst for role-playing and I think I may have found it.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I was on a different server for Wrath of the Lich King and looking around Northrend and that brought back a lot of nostalgia for role-playing. From there I logged out and searched "World of Warcraft RP Private Servers". You guys were the second link, but your name caught my eye so I went with it.

Now I am here and so far I am very interested based on the fact that you require these introductions in order to be accepted. This way of selection really drew me to the server because I know that if I am accepted, I will be with experienced role-players and not your average, "i just stabbed u in teh face and killed you cuz im the bad guy/king and i can do wut I wnat".

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I am a huge fan of Role-Play that involve mysteries to be solved, yet are still in a sort of "WoW-medieval" fashion. I also enjoy the king of role-play where people go out and adventure/explore instead of sitting in a throne room discussing what the merry King should have for his dinner. Overall, no matter what type of role-play it is, I will enjoy it if it has an adventurous feel to it, yet it is still relaxing.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
My favorite race would have to be Blood-Elf. I am a fan of Blood-Elves because Elves are my favorite mythical beings and they, unlike the Night-Elves, tied in a great deal with the lore of Arthas (Also, who doesn't want to be on the Horde? :) ). My favorite class is most definitely Death Knight for two reasons and two reasons only. 1, when played correctly they pull some of the most dps in any raid, and 2, they are so intertwined in WotLK lore that it hurts (But it is a good hurt).

What are your expectations of this server?:
My expectations of this server are that I will welcomed happily by a wide number of experienced role-players, and I will be a part of some of the best role-playing experiences I have ever been in before with people who are just that; experienced.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Humility definitely stuck out to me. I cannot express enough how much I hate it when someone goes around acting like they are the main point of the entire role-play scenario. That being said, I can't help but be annoyed when someone does not care for my story, but if they don't, they don't, and you mostly likely are not going to change their mind, so don't try to be the center of attention as it will only make them hate it more.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
(This is the first chapter of a book that I am currently writing.)

Friends? Maverick never had any friends.
Fun? Training is the only thing his father called fun.
Family? All were dead but his father, Grand Battle Master Dragen Ambermor: Warden of the private knight’s academy in southern Albre.
Maverick lived somewhat alone in his own private sector on the grounds of Ambermor Academy. He was forbidden to leave the grounds for any means without his father’s consent. He was age fourteen and had only been past the borders of The Academy’s walls seven times, and of those seven times, only remembered leaving the Wood of Albre twice. Once he left when he was seven years old with his father, surrounded with the finest able knights as escorts, to select a horse from King Zeras III’s very own stables to call his own. The other was at age ten to acquire training equipment made specifically to suit him in an Elven village near the coast.
Dragen was so intent on making sure his beloved son was properly trained and focused on his academy work that he did not allow Maverick much to do in his free time. He was to spend most of his time in training, or studying. His father was in fact so focused on his training that he scarcely attended actual academy courses with other students and instead had his own personal trainer. As Dragen hoped, his son grew into an excellent warrior and by age fourteen, he could best most of the top rank students at the academy, but the effects of his rules were not all as he intended.
Maverick, being as trapped as he was in the academy, was always searching for ways to get out, though he was almost always caught before he left the academy grounds. Spending most of his life inside the walls, he knew almost every tower, corridor, room, or crevice there was, but having designed the labyrinth of a school, Dragen knew more. Secret passageways lined the insides of the walls and hidden tunnels led escape routes from almost every room in the school. Knowing how eager Maverick was to leave, Dragen only shared enough knowledge of these passageways to keep him safe in an emergency.
As the last semester of the year came to an end, Maverick’s father was rarely seen out of his study not going over applications. The academy was one of the finest in the continent receiving thousands of applications a year, though a meager limit of twenty students per grade were accepted. Dragen grew up poor, and therefore the amount of money required to join the academy was exceptionally low as long as the applicant showed a higher level of skill than others, and usually about eight of the twenty students in each grade were from a poor family.
The academy had five grade levels: Beginner, Apprentice, Squire, Knight, and Elite. One may apply as a Beginner at the age of ten and each grade took two years to pass. Because Maverick was son of the Warden he began as an Apprentice and in short time proved that he belonged there advancing to Squire, and now awaiting his new year as a Knight.
It was one month before the first semester of the new year began and Maverick was atop the academy walls, watching as the newcomers were slowly led to the entrance. As usual he counted each of the students to see if there were exactly twenty in each grade and as usual, there was. Except in the Knight category…
He counted again, switching sides of the walls as the new students went under the gate and on to the split pathways where they would be directed to their grade’s section of the school.
Seventeen… Eighteen… Nineteen… Twenty… He thought. Must have miscounted.
But there! One student was left behind!
He watched as the last student, hooded on horseback, slowly drew up the rear and stopped at the guide to ask for directions. The mysterious person turned to the right and started down the pathway for Knights and Elites. Maverick started to walk along the walls in their direction to see if they would go left to the Knight’s Quarters or if they would take another right to the Elite’s Quarters. They came to a fork in the road and paused for a moment. They looked around and before choosing their direction, removed their hood.
What Maverick saw made his heart stop.
First was the hair, long and mixed with gold and silver, but second were her ears… She was an Elf! Maverick had never seen a girl let alone an Elf at his father’s academy before. In fact, he had no idea that Dragen even permitted girls to attend the school!
He gave himself a few seconds to take in what he had just seen then bolted down the staircase leading off of the outer walls and off toward his father’s study.

* * *

“Come in,” Dragen called before Maverick had even come in contact with the door.
He entered to find his father looking over documents that littered his desk. “I suppose you’re wondering why there is a young Elf in the Knight’s academy aren’t you.”
Maverick stood silently for a few seconds before asking, “How old is she?”
“She is three and a half months older than you.” Dragen replied.
“So… She is an advanced student like me?” Maverick wondered.
Dragen did not answer the question but instead replied with another. “Would you be interested in being a guide for the Elf?”
“A guide?”
“She is the first girl I have ever accepted into this academy and I don’t believe she will have a very nice stay surrounded by all male classmates. Besides,” He said with a grin. “I think it’s time you are rewarded with some type of excitement after all these years of training.”
Maverick still looked confused. “So what exactly would you like me to do for her Father?”
“I want you to fetch her from her dorm before she gets comfortable and bring her to stay at the guest housing in your quarters. After she is properly reallocated I would like for you to give her an appropriate tour of the grounds.”
Maverick stood still for a moment then looked up and replied, “Yes Father” before leaving the study on his way to the Knight’s Quarters. He slowly walked down the spiral staircase from the tower until he came upon the usual split stairway. To the left was the restricted library which was full of thousands of books Dragen had collected over the years. To the right was the exit of the Grand Spire. He turned to the right through a short hallway then took a left and walked forward until he was standing at the entrance of the school where the split pathways lay. After taking the right path and then a left to the Knight’s Quarters, he shortly arrived at the housing section where he found the Elf’s dorm. He finally knocked on the door.
What do I say to her? He thought to himself as sounds of hurrying feet came from behind the entrance. Damn! I don’t even know her name- The door opened.
She was just about the same height as Maverick and their eyes, both a pale green, met without moving. He eyed her up and down. Her hair, a mix of gold and silver, was even more vivid up close. In the back it fell just between her shoulder blades. In the front, it rested on her shoulders, curling as it passed her neck.
“Hello?” She asked.
“Eh…” Maverick paused. “Are you done unpacking?”
“Not quite…” She responded. “Why? Is there something wrong?”
“Not quite.” He echoed. “My name is Maverick, son of the Warden. I’m a Knight like you, but I train separately. I have been told to escort you to your new home.”
“New home?”
“Aye. My father thinks it wise to move you to a more… Private location.”
“Why? What’s wrong with this dorm?”
Maverick responded with a wide grin. “If I were you, I would take the new one. I will call some assistants to move your few things, so you can leave them here for the time being. Now let’s be on our way.” He took a step back and gestured for her to pass. With a still confused expression she shut the door behind her and they left the Knight’s Quarters.
“I never caught your name.” He said as they maneuvered to the northern academy grounds.
“Laura Whitedawn.” She replied.
“Well Laura Whitedawn, I’m to be your guide for the next few days.”
She gave no reply so they walked in silence until they finally arrived at a rather large gate with guards posted on either side.
“Lamarck, would you please open the gate? My companion Laura Whitedawn will be staying within these walls. She will be granted entrance and exit to these gates whenever asked unless stated otherwise by me or my father.”
There came a grinding sound as the gate slowly rose. The two strode forward into one of the most guarded areas in the academy. This section of the school was Maverick’s own living quarters. Until now, he and Dragen alone were the only people permitted to enter the area. After about a minute of walking, yet still in silence, they arrived at the center of the abode and were faced with an assortment of different large houses, all connected to each other in a different way.
Maverick turned to Laura and asked, “Well?”
“Well what?” she was still confused.
“Pick one.”
“One of the houses?”
“Aye. Unless of course you want to go back to your old dorm.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You are the only girl to ever be accepted into this academy. You may choose to go back to your old dorm where you will live among twenty other boys, all wanting to get to the only girl on school grounds, or you can live here with me where you will be in full privacy and under the second strongest security in the entire academy.”
Laura stood still for a few seconds before nodding and turning to the maze of red-orange and gray structures. They were all magnificently built. After all, the academy had been constructed in four years by the highest skilled Dwarves Dragen could hire. After staring at them for what seemed like forever, she finally chose the second highest in the cluster of buildings.
“Wonderful. I live in the house right above yours.” Maverick told her. The sun was beginning to set. “I will be giving you the grand tour tomorrow. It’s been a pleasure, Miss Laura Whitedawn.”
He turned, gave her a gracious bow, and entered the maze of dazzling structures.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I just want to make sure, but my username (choasfire116) won't have anything to do with my in-game play will it?

Hello there, chaosfire116! Welcome to Conquest of the Horde!

Your username will be just that; your username. You make characters in the game with unique names so your username will never be involved unless on the forums or if you introduce yourself by your forum ID in the game so people get an idea of who you are. :P So, the only relation it'll have to your in-game play is the fact you have to type it in to log in!

Remember to register your in-game account in the Account Management page with the exact information you registered your forum name under.

As per standard approval procedure, I'm going to link you to a few nice places that it certainly doesn't hurt if you double-check and make yourself extra familiar with. These are the Rules and Policies, as well as the FAQs. They've got a bunch of vital information in them.

Without further ado, welcome to the server and I hope we'll see you around!

Happy RPing!

Love,
GM Loxmardin
