First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:

I'm a dude who occasionally likes to become emotionally invested in my game once I get bored of Starcraft or PvP. I've been roleplaying for years and years, gaming for longer.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:

I come from Scotland. I also understand some high school level German.

How did you get into Warcraft?:

I first got into Warcraft by playing WCIII: The Frozen Throne - everybody has this game on their classics list - years ago. I've been playing it and WoW ever since, though I was never particularly a fan of the retail experience. I read the books, too.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:

I actually came upon CoTH forever ago but got sidetracked, playing on a variety of different servers. The draw for me right now is activity more than anything, as the server communities I used to play on have broken down and I find myself looking for something more reliable.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

I consider myself flexible in the roleplay experience department but particularly enjoy the immersion you can find in one-on-one scenarios. This is the opportunity for you and the other player to really flesh out and explore each other's characters in a way that's not usually possible in larger groups. That said, there's a lot to be said for a bunch of players who have a really cool and cohesive group dynamic.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:

I was an orc (and troll) roleplayer for a long time, and couldn't comfortably place my favourite race/class combo on anything but the orc warrior. I usually play human for the diversity it offers, but my heart is in the Horde.

What are your expectations of this server?:

My expectations are fairly limited given my tendency for being abrasive when it comes to most roleplayers, but last time I was here there were more than a few exceptionally good players and that's what i'm looking to find.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

CoTH's tolerance policy appeals to me because it implies zero tolerance towards homophobia, misogyny et al. which are rampant things in the gaming community that a person comes to a sever like this in order to relax from - at least, this is my interest. I find this kind of oppressive shit intolerable and it's especially welcoming for me to know that the sentiment is shared across the board.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

Blood thundered around the warrior's skull as if seeking to drown his senses, the throbbing agony of his muscles balanced only by the putrid stench of a thousand corpses. Blistered feet constantly slipped, fell, righted themselves, instinct prevailing over agency in a fruitless effort to find purchase on soil awash with seas of the dead. Drunk with fatigue, Logar's battleaxe was already lost; falling from grasp in a battle that had taken a dozen of his brothers, it already seemed a lifetime ago - some strange eon where his thoughts were yet his own, where the blood that strangled his vision had not yet plagued him. He knew he could not hold on: his screaming muscles, as shaky as a newborn's, were on the verge of failure. Organs that had served thousands of moons of war would shut down. His ancestors awaited him. In his mind's eye Kaldra was already there, her breastplate shining as if newly forged, his daughter Daga holding the spear that had slain the Great Boar --

"Lok'tar ogar!"

A scream from a thousand mouths wrenched the warrior back to reality, his eyes snapping open to a great mane of hair sprawling across a gargantuan body, its green flesh slick with sweat, the pounding of its charge like that of the war drums of the Kodo-rider of so many campaigns past. It was Korgad. As if responding to this moment of clarity, Logar felt himself throw back his head, torso convulsing violently, all thoughts banished as he let loose a cry to tear the sky asunder -- and there, in the sky, he could have sworn he saw the face of his mate staring down at him, even as the arrow tore through his torso and set the lifeblood draining from his veins. He was on his knees now, neck still poised to the sky, but Kaldra was gone. He stared at the black clouds great and threatening that stretched across a bloodshot sky and felt peaceful. His gaze became level in time to see Korgad decapitated by a blade larger than he was, his brother's head sailing through the air. The deathly gaze of the creature that had felled him turned to where Logar had knelt, knee deep in the dead - but he was not there, and in his place stood the fluttering banner of the Horde, a gnarled green fist gripping the haft of its pommel.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

Regardless of your experience with roleplaying or the skill you may or may not have (or think you have!), feel free to interact with me in-game. If there's anything that sucks, it's people who have stagefright in a roleplaying scene. Beer

Hello there, Apostasy! Welcome to Conquest of the Horde!

Remember to register your in-game account in the Account Management page with the exact information you registered your forum name under.

As per standard approval procedure, I'm going to link you to a few nice places that it certainly doesn't hurt if you double-check and make yourself extra familiar with. These are the Rules and Policies, as well as the FAQs. They've got a bunch of vital information in them.

Without further ado, welcome to the server and I hope we'll see you around!

Happy RPing!

Love,
GM Loxmardin
