A Roaring Farewell

The Harbor of Stormwind has long seen ships of many kinds out and in. In the past twenty years of tenuous peace, these harbors have seen only ships of cargo and traveling transport. But with the recent events all across the world, this harbor now sees ships of war and ships carrying battalions of soldiers off to far-away battlefields, where they may do battle in the name of their kings.

Yet again a battalion of soldiers sets off for their duty to the people of the Alliance and their king, Varian Wrynn. And yet again they are met in the harbor by their commanders, who shall give them a fond farewell to whatever hells they may enter during their times of service.

One such farewell is marked by specific sorrow as well as hope. The Lionhearts and several other battalions of Stormwind prepare to make sail for the fabled Twilight Highlands, a place where it is said that the land itself will rise up to do battle with the men and women of the Alliance. In honor of such a sacrifice of time and lives in the future, the commander of these men and women of the Alliance has put out an advertisement for a small, honorable tournament to celebrate the farewell given to these brave soldiers of Stormwind.

Sir Dalikan Godford, Commander of the Alliance, Leader of the Order of the Lion Hearted, Knight of the Silver Hand, of Stormwind, of Lordaeron, and of Theramore, extends to all citizens of the Alliance an invitation to come and enjoy the festivities, and grant the brave men and women their blessings and farewells. The farewell address will begin with a short speech and prayer by Sir Godford, followed by the tournament itself, whereupon the victor will be granted a stipend of coin from the Commander’s personal treasury as well as a smith’s order for the crafting of a weapon of the victor’s choosing of any metal easily accessible to the selected smith. After presenting the reward to the victor, Sir Godford will give a farewell address to his men, their families in attendance, and the people of Stormwind that seek to watch the festivities.

The tournament and farewell address will be held on Thursday, the first day of the eighth month in the Stormwind Harbor. Those wishing to participate in the tournament may send in their names to Sir Dalikan Godford before the date of the tournament, who will arrange the brackets of the tournament. If there are still spots to fill on the date of the tournament, any who attend are given chance to enter into the empty spots. The tournament is restricted to eight participants.

May the Light bless all, and Long Live the King!

(OOC Jazz

So, there’s gonna be this cool tournament on Thursday, August 1st, 2013 at 1:00 PM server time in Stormwind Harbor. Sadly, it’s only for Alliance. Sorry, Hordies! Any Alliance race is welcome to participate, despite what their alignment might be (just don’t go summoning infernals to rain down on ships and you’ll be good). To participate in the pre-arranged brackets, just toss me a whisper in-game on Dalikan or one of my other characters, or PM me on the forum, or hit me up on Skype. Combat rules will be decided between participants upon time of dueling. IC Healing will be provided incase it’s needed post-duel, however this is not an excuse to severely cripple your opponent. Remember, it may be a fight, but you’re still in Stormwind. Hope to see y’all there, and this will be the first of many events based on the Alliance story in the Twilight Highlands.

By word of mouth concerning the upcoming farewell tourney, it can be learned that the Lord Taves Marrowmore has pledged a handsome reward to the victor of the tourney, both as a courtesy of House Marrowmore and to show the Lord's personal support for the brave men and women within the Alliance Army! Also, Lionhearted soldiers are passing through towns announcing the need for participants in the tournament.
