Telekinellican's Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Well, there's not too much to be said, honestly. I enjoy numerous types of games, but always find myself drawn to role playing games more than others - probably due to my love of writing and reading stories. I enjoy World of Warcraft mostly for it's lore - not to say I don't like the game itself, but for me... Well, when the RP dies out on one character, that's how I know I'm done playing him.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I was raised in America - and my primary language is English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
My brother played Warcraft Three with a friend when I was young, and I used to enjoy watching him play it. I was so fascinated by it, it wasn't even funny. Then, when he moved on to World of Warcraft some time later, I insisted he let me make a character on his account. I fell in love with the game, and, when I came to love writing and stories more and more, I fell in love with the lore.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
Due to sheer curiosity, I was looking through the Internet to see if there were any private servers dedicated to roleplaying, since that, as I'm sure you, as the reader, can tell, is what I enjoy most about the game. I found Conquest of the Horde as an answer to a question on Yahoo Answers (unfortunately, I can't seem to find the question post anymore). After I saw that, I came to look into it. What truly drew me to the server was that it seems like it's very strong on community... Like the other characters impact each other - which is not something I've found very much of on live servers. It seems very tight-knit. I have to say, I'm fond of that.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Any kind, really... I've gone from a wide range of militaristic, to religious, to... Relatively simple roleplay - it doesn't really matter to me.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Of the playable races, my favorite race/class combination is definitely Orc Shaman. This is so because... Well, they can fit so many roles! From a wise, respected Elder to a feared combatant. Also, the thought of an Orc, after having suffered from fel corruption, returning to his people's native roots of Shamanism is very appealing to me.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I expect to come into a society of... At the least decent roleplayers. After that, I don't quite know what to expect - but a large part of me expects to enjoy it, seeing as all the rules that are set in place to ensure that people could do so.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The more heavy enforcement of player characters who's stories actually make sense in the Warcraft universe appeals to me very much - the thing I get tired of seeing most on live servers is people roleplaying a character out of Final Fantasy.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Garkall gazed out across the lands of Nagrand, taking in the beautiful sights as a slight breeze blew across his face. He'd sigh, gazing behind him to the city of Garadar. He'd set his axe down lightly to the ground as he observed the people move about - all of them Mag'har, the uncorrupted of his people. His attention drifted back to the hills and grass of the land as his hands moved down to rest upon his knees. Gone were the days that his people were but an uncorrupted, simple people - now, what were they? A people burdened with blood lust. Though he, along with many others, had accepted and adapted to his face, would it not be natural for him to long for a life where he did not feel such a primalistic urge within his brain? He'd shake his head in frustration as he laid upon the ground, eyes gazing to the stars. So much had changed within the history of his people... Both their people AND their planet - ripped and torn asunder. Though these might not be memories he had to himself, he could see them in his head - feel their weight pressing upon his shoulders. Times had changed for his people, and, though times move on, he knew it was important to keep the knowledge of his people's past alive - for it is what makes them who they are. That, and no other reason, was why he was where he was now. Since the Horde's return to the Outlands, he had visited the home of his people but a few times - to see who his people once were. A smile came to his face as he thought of this. Though time surely went on, he still, in his roots, was a true Orc just as the Mag'har were. He'd rise to his feet then, and, axe in hand, depart back to the city of Garadar.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Well. Honestly, I can't tell if this server's really... Well, alive or dead. May seem like an idiot, but I don't really know. Also, the current server's patch it 4.3.4a, but there's only a guide to installing into 3.3.5a. So, that has me confused... Other than that, I have no questions.

Hey there! Welcome to Conquest of the Horde, Telekinellican!

I'd suggest giving the server rules and policies a few look-overs, to get an idea of what our rules and expectations are.

All over the forums, we've got all sorts of articles and guides for quick-reading incase you're not too familiar with the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips when you're creating a character.

Once you're in-game, I suggest doing /join Chat (for OOC talk) and /join Barrens (for silly banter)! If you have any questions at all, you can ask me or any other Forum Helper or GM. Asking around in-game works as well, should you not be on the forums at the time!

Thanks for the story, it was a fun read! Well, we're most certainly active, I can assure you. The hiccup with the guide to installing is due to our recent switch from Wrath of the Lich King to Cataclysm. We're still trying to get the little bits of the forums and wiki up to date again. If you notice anything else that may be out of date, please tell us!

As soon as you get everything figured out and you're lurking around in-game, I would suggest typing in .help to see what kind of commands you can use to help you set up before roleplaying. You can spawn your own gear in, open your bank from anywhere, and unlock every flight location.

We hope you enjoy your stay here!

I think it's pronounced "Tel - ee - kin - el - ick - an"! Like "Teli-kin-el-i-can". Think of a telekinetic pelican.
