DunnZ's Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:

Howdy! My name is Daniel, and I am currently 20 years old. I've been a gamer for a good 10 years, starting off by playing Starcraft 1 against bots all day. With time, I started playing all kinds of games, mostly having a taste for FPS games where I'd consider myself above average!

Although I can't say I'm that good at MMO's, I've been playing a variety of those aswell, mostly WoW – I began playing when it was still in Vanilla.

My first encounter with Roleplay in-game was in Half-Life 2: Deathmatch actually, before the time of Garrys Mod. I'd guess I was around 14 years old, maybe. It was pretty tough at the time but eventually I improved, like my vocabulary. After that I've been roleplaying alot at Garrys Mod, ranging from Half-Life 2 to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. roleplay, and to be honest, at it's peak I've never had so much fun. I've yet to roleplay in WoW though, but I have high hopes.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:

Born and living in Sweden, ergo Swedish is my primpary language.

How did you get into Warcraft?:

I first discovered Warcraft when I played Warcraft 3 and Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne several years ago, which I played alot at the time.

After that, I started playing WoW back in Vanilla lika a maniac, my first character being a Tauren Druid called Dromedaren, but I never actually managed to level up to 60 before TBC came out. Once it did though, my room practically became a man-cave. I've been following the expansions ever since, playing back and forth.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:

A couple of days ago I sat down and decided that I wanted to get into some roleplay again. I was trying to find a promising Community offering serious WoW roleplay on a private server – and this is where I ended up – and after looking looking over the community as a whole and the rules and what it had to offer - I am impressed. I quickly let my friend Ruffnek know, and here we are!

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

As long as I am comfortable with the roleplay, which I mostly am when I don't have to be outright cruel and evil, I find myself able to adapt and enjoy just about any kind of roleplay and situation. The immersion that mostly comes from one-on-one or a small group RP brings something special to the table, though. Be it combat or some friendly chatter in a tavern.

So aye, just being plain evil(doing something against someone unprovoked) IC just feels wrong for me OOC, alas I always end up playing nice, that's probably a departement I will have to improve with.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:

I've always liked Night-Elves the most, because of their mysticism and history - They are among one of the oldest known of races. The fact that their past still haunts them and made them change their ways completely is rather intriguing. My favourite class? Hunters, Druids and Paladins have always been close to heart. While Night-Elves can't be Paladins, Hunters and Druid has always seemed perfectly suited for a Night-Elf too. Hunters have the Ability to be close with the beings of nature as well, even if the name suggests otherwise.

What are your expectations of this server?:

First and foremost: To have a good time, and to meet new people, possibly friends aswell! I've seen way to many communities with mostly trolls, drama and disrespect, so I truly hope this is a place to set a standard.

Some interesting and fun roleplay is a big desire aswell. It's been too long now since I've had some of that!

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

While I like the rules in their entirety, the Humility rule is something that is so true and some people tend to forget not just in-game. Sometimes it's simply other people's time to be in the center, that's when you got to realise it and give 'em some space, it's not always about you.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

Garreth woke up to the smoldering noices of wood on fire. Was his house on fire? "What had happened to cause this?" He thought, pushing away some small debris that had fallen on him while he was passed out.

Coughing loudly, Garreth was quick to dive to the floor to try and get away from all the smoke gathering inside. After managing to crawl his way out of the bedroom, he could only fret as smoke and fallen debris hindered him from finding a way out.

"Is this the end?" Garreth wondered, still not able to find a way out. "Over here!" someone suddenly shouted. Rapidly crawling towards where the sound came from, Garreth found himself looking at the obvious figure of a female. Upon noticing Garreth, she quickly grabbed him by the hand, almost dragging Garreth in her direction. Standing up to be able to keep up, he could feel his consciousness waver. The last thing he sees before faiting is what seems like an open hole in the wall.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

Nuh-uh, everything is clear! I hope to become something more than a stranger around here in the future, and get to know you all!

Hey there! Welcome to Conquest of the Horde, DunnZ!

Thanks for sharing that story with me, and I hope you and your friend will find our server to be a good fit for your roleplaying needs!

I'd suggest giving the server rules and policies a few look-overs, to get an idea of what our rules and expectations are.

All over the forums, we've got all sorts of articles and guides for quick-reading just in case you're not too familiar with the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips when you're creating a character.

Once you're in-game, I suggest doing /join Chat (for OOC talk) and /join Barrens (for silly banter)! If you have any questions at all, you can ask me or any other Forum Helper or GM. Asking around in-game works as well, should you not be on the forums at the time!

As soon as you get everything figured out and you're lurking around in-game, you should type in .help to see what kind of commands you can use to help you set up before roleplaying. You can spawn your own gear in, open your bank from anywhere, and unlock every flight location.

I promise, this introduction did not just jump through half of the subforums in the introductions forum before settling here. *Coughs*

We hope you enjoy your stay here!
