Curious about a few things
#1
So while I sit around waiting for my Introduction post to be approved, I figured I'd post up a few little questions I've had popping up in my brainbox. Tongue

First off is the matter of EXP rates. I noticed that you cannot level past 50 without an approved character profile. I'm not too concerned about that as I went and wrote up a detailed character profile for my first character to post as soon as I get the ability to. But is the whole experience of leveling still kept pretty blizz-like? Or did EXP rates get a boost anywhere? I ask because I read about approved characters having the option to be boosted to 80, so I'm trying to decide if I want to take the time to level or if it'll be too much of a hassle and I should boost when I manage to get approved. Plus it seems most private servers love to boost the EXP rates and sometimes I found that annoying because you'll out-level all your quests and gear in no time flat.

I was also curious about the obtaining of RP items, or transmog gear. In Live WoW, I had a friend help me run through old BC raids in order to get the set pieces I wanted for my shaman. But here I noticed you have some kind of command system that lets you pull items within a particular range. So I was wanting to get a feel for how the community manages to select their RP gear. Do you look up the numbers and pull from the commands mostly? Or are there some things you'll go out and try to get via drops?

Beyond all that, I'm mostly just curious if there are any dungeons, quests, or other content that's not working properly and I should avoid when I get in. Wouldn't want to go wandering in somewhere that's broken and get glitched out.

Now I shall go back to waiting eagerly to see if my Introduction gets approved soon! :D

With the introduction of Cataclysm, all characters start at level 60 and you can't go higher than unless approved.

As for RP items, you can use the .lo rp (insert item name) command to look up an item and then use .add (itemID) to add it.

Most dungeons do work, some with extensive triggers don't. Quests tend to be broken however.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive. I'm not afraid of dying. Everyone has their time. Life never favored weakness.

Welcome to the pride!

Kind of disappointed that so much of the PVE content isn't functional. But I guess that's why the item command system is in place.

Appreciate you clarifying some of that for me though.

Usually your character level as no bearing on the RP. That being said, you can go out and raise your factions for nice things. There's a few people who don't mind dungeon delving for old time's sake or to kill some idle time. You'll have to grab some goggles to refresh the character models (unless they have transmogged gear). You can grab those from the big orc on the island or .lo rp nakey

If you're curious, the switch to Cataclysm was purely for RP reasons. We had been on Wrath for (since I started in 2009) some time and the general consensus was to dive right into the new lore/world/worgens.
The true test of his choice lies forward.

You'll find a couple of the areas are pretty barren and others have some more models added. It didn't take me too long to get used to everything. As far as PvE, I've really only run dungeons for reputation and when I'm just OOC chatting with other people on the server and I don't want to stand around GM Island.

Feel free to ask questions in game as well. Players here tend to be pretty nice.
