Introduction of Thought

First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
As a roleplayer, I've actually started writing in WoW. That, however, didn't last for too long. Most of my experience has come from forum/instant messaging and tabletop stuff.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm comin' from the US, east coast to be specific, and write in English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I had always been a massive fan of fantasy, so I started playing WoW towards the end of the good ol' days of vanilla. I did take a fairly long break from the game after the end of WotLK, so joining here will be my first Cataclysm experiences!

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:I was searching for a new place to roleplay within and peeked around for a Warcraft-centric place; finding a dedicated server was a bit of surprise.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
It's hard to say a single, specific type of roleplay. Anything that allows me to be creative with my character is what I enjoy.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Again, it's tough to narrow down a specific. I've a love of the old Horde races, Orcs being my favorite while Trolls coming in as a close second, and I'd always thought the Draenei to be an interesting people. Humans are incredibly versatile in the roles and archetypes they can be played as. And I forgot Goblins.. Goblins, definitely them. I love their energy and attitude

Druids have been among my favorite since I first played one within D&D. Most faith based classes/characters, too; shaman and priests, primarily.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Just hopin' for a place to have some fun and meet new people.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Funnily enough, probably the introduction system. It probably helps keeping out any of the troll-y sort.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
Maybe? What would that entail? :o

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
"Jesus, you're getting fat.."
"Hey!"
Snickering under his breath, Adrian takes a few playful blows against his shoulders as Talia delivers in retaliation for such indignant words! Piggyback-riding him, her arms come back to rest over his shoulders as she enjoyed the queenly treatment.
"You're really lucky I keep my word, y'know?"
The only response issued to him comes as a soft, tune humming out from the sprightly young girl. Precocious as ever, Talia swings her legs out before gently kicking his sides to spur on her steed. "Giddyup!"
The sound of Adrian's sneakers padding along the sidewalk soon after begin escalating, sending Talia jostling his back."Your big butt's coming down as soon as we get there!"

(Something short on the spot. I feel silly.)

The mentor program exists for a number of reasons. Mentors are used to answer questions that they can't find information on (admittedly, information can be difficult to find due to there being so much of it spread throughout the forum), but more importantly, they can also be there to show new players the ropes of RP in game. This could mean an introduction to how RP is generated on the server, helping new players come to a better understanding about warcraft lore, or perhaps even how to RP in general if the player is new to it. But if I'm to be honest, the big benefit here is that the mentor serves as a link to the active population, and can do a lot to help in getting to know the other players that you'll likely see a lot of in the future.

Does that answer help you come to a decision about signing up?

Yep! And I'd make that a yes to the question, in that case.

Hello, Thought, and welcome to COTH!

If you haven’t already, please do make sure to double-check the rules and policies so you’re for sure familiar to the server’s expectations! If you have further questions, I recommend giving this guide a read, as it contains a lot of helpful information for players who are new to the server. Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to register your in-game account in the Account Management page using the same information you registered your forum name under. As for downloading the correct client and other things that you need to do in order to connect, I recommend giving this a read, as I found it very helpful myself when we made the switch to Cataclysm.

As for making your first character, there are a lot of helpful articles and guides for you to read up on in case you don’t fully understand the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips for making a character and for when you’re writing your first profile, such as scale and height.

When you get your account created, make sure to /join Chat and /join Barrens in-game for if you have any questions not answered in the forums. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance, and I’ll give if a reply as soon as I can! And if not me, any Overseer, GM, or Forum Helper.

Old Horde races are very much appreciated on this server, if you haven't guessed by the name. There are a lot of folks here who are dedicated to the races that fit the descriptor (one is vibrating above my post). I'm one of them! Who also likes Goblins, because Goblins are awesome.

You seem very open-minded to a lot of things, and that will become rewarding once you're able to hop into the server and join in on the RP, because we have a lot of different types of it.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your stay!

~Geo

P.S. I admire your username choice.
