First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I'm a long time fan of sci-fi and fantasy, having started with the Dragonlance books when I was a teen. As I got older, I naturally migrated towards console and online games. As a family man, I don't always have the time I'd like to devote to playing, but when I do I like to make the most out of it.
What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
The good ol' USA. My primary (and only) language is English with a thick southern accent.
How did you get into Warcraft?:
I bought a new computer several years ago and asked a friend if he had any games I could borrow. As it turns out, one of them was WoW. Burning Crusade had recently come out so that's the expansion I started with. I was instantly hooked and have loved it ever since.
How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I played retail for a few years, but stopped a couple years ago for personal reasons. My interest recently renewed, I started searching for private servers to play on. The thought occured to me, "I wonder if there are any rp servers?", so I did a little research and yours was one a few I found. Yours seemed to be the most serious and that really appealed to me.
What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
While the occasional tavern rp is nice, I much prefer to rp out in the world, especially dungeon runs.
What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
When it comes to race, there are elements of each that I really love, but if I had to pick one, it would probably be Tauren. I love their lore and character models. As for class, my two preferred classes are Priest and Shaman. Priests were fun to run 5 mans on as a healer. Shaman's are a great hybrid class and not too many people I knew played them, making it even more enticing for me. Plus, I like the lore behind shamans as well.
What are your expectations of this server?:
I hope to find a community of friends and fellow lovers of the Warcraft lore, free of drama.
Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
I really like the idea of mutual respect and tolerance, both here on the forums and in game.
Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
While I think it's a great idea, it's not really something I'm interested in.
Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
The old dwarf stared out into the horizon, watching the first rays of sunlight peek over the mountains in the distance. The light began to dance it's way through the tall trees, the shadows skittering away as it came. He knelt down, bringing his worn leather pack around and plopping it down onto the newly fallen snow. Rummaging through the bag, he pulled out a small flask, taking a nip and placing it back inside. Slinging the pack back on his shoulder, he grabbed his rifle from it's resting spot, leaned up against the thick oak he had taken shelter under.
Moving forward, he trudged through the thick snow, picking up the trail of the deer he had been following since shortly before dawn. Several hundred yards later, he at last saw his prey. The old buck stood in a clearing, munching away at the few sprouts that had managed to clear the snow. Seemingly oblivious to the dwarf's presence, he meandered around the clearing looking for new tufts. Seeing his opportunity, the dwarf unslung his rifle and brought it to bear, lining up on the deer, taking careful aim.
Just as he was about to squeeze the trigger, the earth began to violently shake. The shot went off, but the upheaval threw the dwarf back on his hind quarters, the bullet whizzing harmlessly into a nearby tree, the deer running away into the nearby brush. "What in the..." the dwarf muttered as he endured the quake. It seemed to be over as quickly as it came. Regaining his composure, he grabbed his rifle and headed back towards camp.
As he arrived in camp, he began to gather up his supplies for the long trek back into town. Just then, he heard the crunch of sticks and spun around quickly, just in time to see the largest trogg he'd ever seen bearing down on him at full speed. Without much time to react, he let out a bellow just as the trogg was swinging his club down, barely able to block the attack with his rifle. The impact shattered his weapon and he was thrown back towards the camp fire he had just snuffed out. As he hit the ground, the still hot coals scattered in all directions, one of them rolling into his tent and catching fire. Regaining his composure, he narrowly rolled out of the way as the trogg's club came smashing down within inches of his head. The heat of the now engulfed tent beared against his skin as he scrambled to his feet, pulling the dagger out from his belt, then turning to face his foe.
The trogg lunged towards him, swinging his club wildly. The crafty old dwarf managed to side step his attacker at the last second, spinning around behind him and lodging the dagger firmly in the back of the trogg. The creature gurgled in pain and collapsed into the burning tent, sealing his fate. The dwarf could hear others nearby in the woods and prepared for another fight, but none seemed interested in him. After a few minutes, he grabbed his pack and headed towards home. "I've got to warn them" he surmised, "Anvilmar is in danger..."
Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I think most everything has been covered on the forum. I look forward to seeing you all in-game
