Verdigree's Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Well, I would have to start with the fact that I'm 16 year old guy that lives in Australia, and that I've grown up around video games my entire life.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm from New Zealand, Land of the Long White Cloud, or Middle Earth as some may say.
My main language is English, but I know a smidgen of Maori and Italian and can greet someone in Swedish.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
As a kid I used to always play the original RTS games of Warcraft, Orcs and Humans and such. Being around my Dad and his brother who also played the games too immersed me into the world. World of Warcraft came around and went straight into playing that (although at the time I had no clue as to what I was doing).

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I'm really into roleplaying, yet I found that the Blizzard RP servers were a bit too doused in ERP, rather than RP in general. I looked up private RP servers and now here I am.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Any sort of roleplay has its advantages and its disadvantages.
For example, LARPing allows you to fulfill your roleplay fantasies in the real world and it gives you some exercise. However, it also has to potential to get you injured.
Therefore I wouldn't be able to chose a specific roleplay type as my favourite, I just try everything.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I always had a huge interest in native/tribal cultures, which is why I've always loved tauren and trolls.
Tauren, the race that radiates the free spirit and connection with nature, just like the Native Americans.
Or the trolls, whose ruggedness and tribal society remind me of the o-so-familiar Pacific tribes and the (not-so-familiar) tribes of the Caribbean.
Another large interest of mine is nature, in particular the biotic factors, so naturally (no pun intended) I love druids and hunters; To have the companionship of a beast always at your side, or to be one with the beast itself. These classes compliment the races nicely too, as they both races are strongly affiliated with the worlds around them.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I expect the server to be full of people who are all connected together in at least one sense: they like roleplaying. Of course, if they didn't then it would be weird for them to be on the server, however it binds all the players to the one goal of just having some fun.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Maturity, by far. The stereotype of the internet and online gaming is the countless masses of immature slug-brains that give each other petty insults and slurs.
Being a 16 year old I'm aware of what others my age are like online, and therefore like to distance myself from the stereotype of my peers.
If an online community is to survive it must do so without the pettiness and openly obnoxiousness that entails with immature members.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor?:
No, not until I read the question.
I think I would be able to handle myself, but I assume that I can ask for and be assigned a mentor afterwards if I changed my mind.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Awh, do I have to? :(

"Ahm tellin' ya mon!" exclaimed the troll "It's like he oop an' vanish'd!"
The large, tawny-furred tauren next to the troll gave a derisive snort, with an accompanied flick of his tail.
"That's impossible, before now the tracks he's left looks like been blundering around more than kodo in an alchemy store, so much more that even I could tell where he was going, and I'm not even the hunter here!"
"Yeah, well if you could'a see dem before, can you see dem now?"
Sighing, the tauren looked down to see, to his surprise, that yes, the tracks had stopped suddenly, as if the dwarf had suddenly vanished.
"Where's he gone then?" exclaimed the tauren, becoming even more annoyed that after trekking for days in pursuit of the escaped prisoner (who had only escaped because a particular someone with tusks had fallen asleep on duty) that the trail had run abruptly cold.
"Ah dunno, you's supposed to be da smart one, Kumajo" the troll retorted, standing up straight and stretching himself out from his crouching position, scrunching his green and white tattooed face as a muscle or two cracked in protest.
"Hey, we wouldn't even be in this situation if you hadn't fallen asleep, Tanjin" Kumajo snapped back, clenching his fists.
"'Ow can I help Zurugo bein' so warm an' fuzzy when I be so cold an' tired?" Tanjin replied, holding one hand up defensively whilst the other went to the black gorilla next to him.
Kumajo exhaled heavily, closing his eyes, grasping his three braids with one hand and turning his head to the ground
"Did you make sure you took everything useful from him?"
"Sure" Tanjin shrugged "Evryting 'cept his clothes, some food an' a dingy lil' whistle"
The tauren's head snapped up, a swirling rage appearing in his eyes.
"A whistle? You mean like the ones that we use to call mounts?!"
Tanjin adopted a thoughtful look, scratching his head whilst looking back at the tracks.
"Ah hadn't thought o' dat"
Shaking his heading, Kumajo pointed west.
"If we hurry we might make it back to Bloodhoof by night, we aren't going to be able to get that dwarf now and we are supposed to go to Thunderbluff in any case" he sighed defeatedly, using his whistle to call his grey and green-spotted kodo.
"Wat about Taurajo?" Tanjin asked whilst climbing on the emerald raptor he had called.
"I'm not going to stay there. Too many looters and spirits of my people" Kumajo replied, before mumbling a few words in Taurahe and nudging his kodo onwards.
"Good, ah was lookin' forward to da Inn in Bludhoof anyway" Tanjin said, unstringing his bow as he followed his friend.
Both friends raced towards their destination, the setting sun guiding the way for the two leather-clad members of the Horde.

(Trying to write for a troll is a pain in the ass)

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Not that I really know of, give me something you need clarifying and I'll gladly do so. :D

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon Verdigree has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?
