AdellRazh's Introduction
#1
I am awful at naming threads. I'm so very sorry.

First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Hrmm. Well, backstory first. I started playing WoW when I was 12-ish, maybe 13? Back, way back in vanilla. Recommended by a friend to a PvP server (Frostmourne, IIRC). It was awful. My poor druid died immediately. I was also terrible at the game, sos nothing ever amounted of that. Gave up the ghost, started a new character on a new server.

That server was Moonguard. I was not aware of the significance of "RP" at the time.

The character in question was a troll hunter, can't remember her name, but I picked up on (and was awful at) roleplaying. I continued to suck until the launch of WotLK, at which point I dragged my butt to 80 and learned how to play. I also figured out roleplaying and how to not be a jerk. Mostly. Still working on that last part.

So hears the low down:
I am an incredibly good healer. Like, frightfully competent. Was. Porbably a bit rusty now.

I enjoy learning new things! Also, I'm astonishingly prone to making horrible mistakes, usually offending someone and then swearing a life debt ala wookies to win them over.

I'm a bit of a nerd, bit of a gamer, but I've never been immersed in any community in a proper fashion. Like, Nerd community, Gamer community. I've had my share of forum communities, and once ran a guild. It was the best, silliest guild. I may recreate it here.

Other stuff: I'm a DM, mainly running Pathfinder and Fate and Nemesis. Tabletop, me hearties. I'm also Ace, but yes I am okay with ERPing with you.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
Canada! And English. Do I need to put something else here? I'm not sure what to say.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
A friend, sorta. Don't remember his name. We met and associated only in summer camp, and have never and will never meet again.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
A Google search and my being horribly poor, in that order. Also your community isn't composed of hateful bigots. The reason I stuck around RP servers to begin with was how friendly the community is, even in my more PvE-oriented years. I enjoy a constructive and accepting community. Hatefulness, even "playful" hatefulness, gets right up my goat.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I'm very flippant... is that the word? Nah, silly's better.
I'm very silly in how I go about things, and don't tend to take things seriously. I'm the goofball through and through, and even my serious BATMANS characters are pretty ridiculous.

I don't like hijacking storylines or being the center of attention, but holier-than-thou self-certain jerks what think roleplay is more about telling serious emotional stories than having fun kinda deserve to be knocked down a peg.

I've done my share of proper storytelling, but I've had fun doing it and I've made sure everyone else has enjoyed their time as well. When there's a fight, make it a spectacle, when there's calm, crack a few jokes.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Eeeeuuuuugh, this is hard.

I like the night elves because they're xenophobic and hostile and strange. But Blizz screwed up, and now they're bland.

I like the orcs because they're trapped in a war between the fires of their demon-blood and the promises they've made to their new home, but Blizz screwed it up. They're still pretty great. Just... ugh.

Gnomes are silly and fun, and I enjoy silly and fun. It's a shame not enough people give them the credit they deserve.

Humans, worgen, tauren, draenei, goblins, and dwarves do not interest me at all, with one exception. One character exception. One fellow. He was great.

Classwise, Druid and Mage are my true and only loves. One turns into things and the other shoots fire out of their minds. Need I say more?

What are your expectations of this server?:
People are not terrible to each other. Horrible hateful things (excepting in character, maybe) don't happen. My expectations are not terribly harsh, really. People being nice to each other, at least out of character.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Knowing when to quit. I once fought a "blood elf what was mentally locked to a bronze dragon and could time time time time." I think that sums it up quite well.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
Not really. I know my way around roleplaying, and have mentored people to be better in the past, though I'm not patient enough to be a teacher full-time. That said, I also don't judge people their shortcomings, I have too many and that would be ironic.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

Quote:"Let's start with a story."

The old man set the lantern down. The metal clattered against the wooden table, causing the flame to flicker and send light dancing across the walls of the hollowed out tree that was the town's library. Around him gathered the children, none older than ten, each looking up to the man in anticipation.

He chuckled, and continued, "This is a story of a dark and terrible man, and those that followed him."

"They called him the Capricorn."

-

It was Sunday, either the first or last day of the week. Veridian had never really been sure of how it was organized. Honestly, the night elf didn't even think it mattered. But still. Sunday.

He was sitting on a tree stump near the edge of a cliff, staring into the middle distance and pretending to be thoughtful. Though still clad in the red and black plate that was his calling card, he had managed to find exactly the position in which to be comfortable. His "Sword of Justice" a two-pronged hunk of metal that Capri had called a paladin favorite, rested on his lap.

Though a warrior himself, Veri had never been much for sticking to class guidelines. He liked the sword. It was large and unexpected. He'd punched a troll to get it, after all.

Supposedly, Veri was waiting for the guild leader's return. There was an island of trolls hidden in the mists beyond Stranglethorne Veri was looking in its direction now, in fact, sat on the edge of the jungle. Capri was supposed to have returned several hours ago. At this point either negotiations were going swimmingly or there were a lot less trolls in the world.

There was a light brush of sand and foliage and there he was. The Capricorn, either through invisibility or shear stoic patience, standing beside Veridian with his arms cupped gently behind his back, clothed in the same dark grey uniform as ever.

So rapid was the Capricorn's approach it took a minute for the familiar smell of ash to enter Veridian's nostrils. The tall, dark skinned human carried it about him like a badge of office. Appropriate, Veri supposed.

The Capricorn's clothing was worn, old, covered in burns and sears. His skin, bare at his arms and hands and neck, laced with scars from a thousand sources, most of them self inflicted or willingly taken. All of him showed his age. Veri guessed he maybe a hundred years old, not old for a night elf, but ancient by human standards. Still, he was corded with muscled, thin and taut and agile.

The only exception was the hat. The Hatness, most of the guild had dubbed it. A satin-black fedora, flat and sagged but perfect. Untouched to an astonishing degree. The guild debated that, too. Was the Hatness' unmarred visage the produce of its master's magic or its own?

Capri cleared his throat, speaking in the deep, hoarse tones of someone who'd spent too long around smoke. His voice would have carried a terrific volume before it had been marred, or if he had his throat healed.

"You have enjoyed the sunlight, then?" Short, as always.

"Quite." Veri pushed himself to his feet, "Are we heading back now?"

"Yes. It has been long enough."

The two turned away from the beach, vanishing into the underbrush.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Ace means asexual.

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon AdellRazh has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?
