Introduction!
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I've played Diablo 2 and Warcraft three since I first touched a computer. I got on World of Warcraft very late, about four years ago. I loved it at first but then it quickly got out of hand, losing all the epicness of the warcraft lore and replacing it with dps and gear limits and rough times getting in raids. I hated this and it somehow lead to me playing half of the time on the retail roleplaying servers. The fun that could be had as a low level troll dressed in rags in silvermoon city was incredible! My adventures didn't last long because I quit playing altogether just after Cataclysm was released. I've been looking to get back into the roleplaying again and stumbling upon CoTH seems to have been the perfect catalyst.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm from Sweden, and swedish is my primary language. I speak okay english and half-ass german too!

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Bought Warcraft three when I was very young, probably the first game I ever played. I've always been a fan of the characters and the lore, often forgetting about the actual gameplay whilst focusing too hard on the stories portrayed in game.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I just stumbled upon it really, what made me stay at first was the first page saying "You are EXPECTED to roleplay" and the overall seriousness surrounding the server. This gave me the expectation of the same feeling of adventure and epicness that I thought were long lost when playing retail on non-roleplaying servers.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I'm not really a very experienced roleplayer. I'm only really accustomed to being part of a group/guild, stalking around cities and being a pawn in whatever grand scheme the one I followed had in mind. The roleplaying fights in hidden areas where others wouldn't see or disturb always made me tingle and are still one of my favorite parts of it. But I don't think I'm experienced enough to pick favorites.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
If i'd have to pick one it would be blood elf, I always loved being the outcast screwup race that didn't even want to stop using magic after almost destroying all of Azeroth. Their lore also always seemed to be the most interesting, I loved them being power-hungry to a fault and the whole feeling of always wanting vengeance due to being almost destroyed as a race by the amani trolls and the scourge.

This also made me love the forsaken by way of Lady Sylvanas, the one blood elf with the most need for revenge (against Arthas and the scourge) and the scariest one.

My favourite classes are hunter and warrior. The hunter was always my favourite when roleplaying because of how fun tracking, following and hunting down people was.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Friendly roleplaying with higher standards than on the retail roleplaying servers.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
The expectation to roleplay and the respect. In retail servers you easily just run around and don't really roleplay if you don't do it with friends or a group. Being expected to do it gives a responsibility to be a part of the Warcraft universe and not just being in character when you see fit.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
No, I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to playing and to sign up for a mentor while not being able to be consistent with playing would not be fair to that person.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Initiation:
To prove ones value in combat had never been weird to the troll. Tracking his victim in the Ghostlands, not far enough from the dead scar for his scent not to be masked by the smell of death. But murdering one of his own faction, for the sake of proving that he is worthy? This was all very new for him. What would his Orc friends think of this betrayal for the sake of proving his usefulness to his newfound master? Shaking his head, he knew that it didn't matter anymore. He had accepted his fate and was willing to serve, whatever the cost.
He was so caught up in his thoughts that he almost revealed himself to his victim. His master had told him to slay a female blood elf. She would have discovered her follower if it hadn't been for fighting off a pack of lynx with her magic.

"Oh kittens, are you scared of a little fire?" She added after setting a few nearby trees alight with a ball of flame.

Her taunting and cockiness would be her undoing, for she had dropped her guard and wasn't on edge as any traveller should be in the Ghostlands. The perfect opportunity had arisen, he would not fail his master.
"I'm sorry" The troll whispered in his native tongue as he sent out his own lynx behind her.

The sight of the lynx pouncing and ripping the unsuspecting blood elf to shreds would come back to haunt the troll for years to come.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Nope
WHERE YOU AT GEORGES?!

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon svempagunnar has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Welcome to CotH!

First, be sure to check out our servers rules and policies, just so you're well-versed on the foundation of the server. The server has a wealth of information at the Articles/Guides section of the forums, and I would highly suggest you consult at least one or two guides when you start a new character. We have a full download for the Cataclysm game folder for both Mac and PC available.

In-game, there are purple portals scattered about. The primary OOC area is under Neutral Hubs, and is named "GM Island". This is where people loiter between roleplaying. I would also suggest that you /join chat and /join barrens once you get in-game, as we tend to prefer keeping LFG open for people looking for roleplay. We also have a few commands of note available to all players. Firstly is .lo rp <item>. This command will show all spawn-able RP items that match the criteria of the name. Then, you take the six numbers next to the item and add them to .add <000000>. This armor is wearable, but holds the same armor restrictions as it would on retail (I.E., we don't have Priests in Plate). We also have the .scale command, which functions from between .9 and 1.1, changing your in-game size.

Another Swede? Good to hear. IIRC, our local @Loxmardin is from a Nordic country. I'm not going to insinuate which one in case I'm wrong, but there is that. And don't worry about the respect for roleplaying rule -- the lines between IC and OOC are heavily enforced, and I like to think that everyone is here for one cause, to roleplay.

Regardless, welcome to CotH!
