Typh introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:

I'm something of an old MMO player and an old role player. Around the time I got into WoW the two crossed paths and have been entwined ever since. I like to role play in MMO's along with doing MMO-stuff. WoW has been something of a pleasant surprise with various bits of the lore providing interesting facets to try things, however restrictive.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:

US. I think I can speak english, but with how many times I mispell things I'm not so sure.

How did you get into Warcraft?:

Been playing since Vanilla (Like, December 2004, buying the game on a whim because apparently it was alright even though it was a month old) and quit around the time of Cataclysm because lolCataclysm, although MoP felt like a return to form after fully understanding that it was/is something of a softer-seeming expansion (which doesn't really seem to have been the case, although the ease of the setting was there).

As far as Warcraft proper goes, I was a hardcore raider in some of the top guilds seeing blah blah blah, that's a story so few people can tell it doesn't really matter anymore UNLESS you're trying to find something to tickle that itch (which another game does). I've always been someone who's taken the lore and the happenings of a situation of a character to heart in the game, and ever since my focuses switched more to role playing and work in real life things have, you know, shifted. I've had my fair share of cane-shaking at newer players for not liking the things I like, been seen as an authority for some weird reason in other places, helped build and sustain a community until it could sustain itself...point is I'm well traveled, and I kind of like that.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:

Oddly, I heard about this place many years ago from a friend who had their RP profile rejected (understandably so, due to what they were trying to play, which requires a lot of subtle-ness they weren't presenting, even though they could). Looked into it and decided it wasn't for me, but there was always in the back of my mind. Gravitated back here because that was over half a decade ago and I'm surprised, even gladdened, that this server is still up and running. It shows a dedication I severely underestimated.

So, I'm deciding to jump in this time. If that's okay.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

Any and all. Although I've found combat-based RP to be a chore because, most of the time, neither side wants to lose when they should. Drama is thrown out the window for dick waving and blah blah blah. That being said, it IS very fun when done right and done with the right people, and has lead to some very interesting character defining moments.

To clarify a bit more on "any and all", I do enjoy having a bit of freedom when it comes to lore interpretation. I understand the potential for "special snowflakes" and mary sues (used to be a part of a rifftrax group for that), but I also recognize that some of the more colorful ways of bending lore can lead to very interesting characters that aren't necessarily unique/special/purpleprosewhippywhoo, but have their own distinct spin on how their characters go about their day to day. Treating a universe's lore with respect while doing such is also a good way to keep said characters grounded in reality. To this end that makes me painfully open to suggestions.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:

Harder to say which race/classes I don't like, if I'm not talking about the players of said race/classes (or which classes I don't enjoy playing). For WoW, all of them have a rich backgrounds and my favourites are just those I like to roleplay as.

Like the Blood elf. I initially thought he Blood Elf would be another frilly snooty high elf cut and paste that you usually get with fair skinned elves in medieval settings in games. I was pleasant surprised to read up on their lore and find out they're less frilly and snooty and more of a broken people with a heavy penchant for revenge and an understandable alliegence with other broken people that fight their own corrupted kin as well as trying to shape a better future for themselves (you know, the Horde at their best).

On the other hand there's Worgen. They're a bestial gothic fantasy werewolves with their own rich culture due to being a side of warcraft!humans that still shine through the body of the wolf AS WELL AS having their own view of the world and using what has happened to the to their advantage.

The rest of the races are no different. = 3=

What are your expectations of this server?:

Knowing when to quit. This is a rule I REALLY wish people on live would would live by, youhavenofrickenidea.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

Delve into world and roll with it, more or less. Being a part of a strong going community would be a lovely bonus.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):

Yes. Couldn't hurt.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

"A man walks into a bar, adjusting his belt and walking with a broad sway in his step with a slight bounce on his heels. He says 'ow'."

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Nope.

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon Typh has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Hello there, Typh! Welcome to Conquest of the Horde!

I'm a fan. Your story is short and sweet. ;) I'm intrigued you decided to come looking for us after all this time, and glad all the same that you decided to come join us finally! You seem very cool from your introduction. (And I know right? Knowing When To Quit is a good rule.)

Do you have Skype? If so, you should check out this thread! Feel free to add my Skype (loxmardin) as well, if you want to chat, ask questions or have me add you to the official CotH Skype Group, manually!

Remember to register your in-game account in the Account Management page with the exact information you registered your forum name under. Also, take a look at this announcement about the .LFRP command! It's totally useful!

As per standard approval procedure, I'm going to link you to a few nice places that it certainly doesn't hurt if you double-check and make yourself extra familiar with. These are the Rules and Policies, as well as the FAQs. They've got a bunch of vital information in them. Don't forget to "/join Chat" for general chatter, "/join Barrens" for general randomness and more spammy chatter in-game!

Without further ado, welcome to the server and I hope we'll see you around!

Happy RPing!

Love,
Overseer Loxmardin
