The Introduction that Wished it was an Introduction

Wink
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Well, I personally like my games from the simulation, strategy (4x, rts, etc), survival, and RPG genres. Examples range from Dwarf Fortress, to Crusader Kings 2.

I consider myself a pretty laid back gamer. I'm in for the fun, thrill, and experience of the game, but I'm out as soon as it becomes a job, something I can't have fun in without having to break my actual immersion.

As far as my personality goes, I love meeting new people and making friends. I like to think that I'm quite nice and outgoing, but I do have my days. Nonetheless, I absolutely hate any sort of drama, and I'm sort of a pushover when it comes to arguments.
What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I come from the United States of America, and I primarily speak English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
Back in 2005 I saw some coverage of WoW that really sparked my interest. So I started into it on my Windows XP Dell, and played like that all the way up into Wrath.
Once Wrath hit I upgraded my computer, and started into a DK. Even now, I'm still hooked on WoW, even though they have decreased things like the difficulty. Admittedly though, as difficulty has dropped, I've slowly moved to RPing than actually raiding and the likes.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I typed in something similar to, "WoW Private RP server". I think what really drew me to this server is the more organized roleplaying. Plus, the fact that from what I've seen, you're character can/does make an actual difference. I mean, you put each person's character onto the wiki. That's just cool.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
Any really. Except for super heavily combat based, with people who don't really like to take hits themselves, whilst I'm taking hits voluntarily. It kind of annoys me.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
My favorite race is Tauren! Tauren are the huge beasts that give off a wonderful tribal feel. They remind me of Native Americans, except for the fact that I think that if a Tauren kicked you, you'd be twenty feet deep in soil.

To me, the coolest class would have to be a Death Knight. They just have this super dark and compelling story. Plus, their armour, abilities, etc are just great! Glowing blue stuff, and the ability to sort of have your own special sword! Lastly, I've read the WoW book on Arthas, and I wholly recommend it...

What are your expectations of this server?:
Well I expect a much more RP geared experience than retail, and less trolls.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Definitely the humility rule. I just think it helps everybody feel apart of something big.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
Well I'd definitely like a mentor, but schedules for me would be sort of a pain, so I'd have to decline. I'd hate to be an annoyance.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

“Jarl Håvard, could you please spare some silver?” a haggard old woman who had approached Håvard asked him. Håvard thought the refusal of help to his people inconceivable.

He smiled, and said, “Of course I can!” Then he thusly handed her a sack of silver coins he had pulled out of his saddlebag. Håvard continued through his town of approximately 1,250 people this way, until he had emptied his saddlebag and the backpack he had. Afterwards, he headed off towards the castle.

As Håvard approached the gates of his castle, he spotted his wife, a elegant woman with long curled brown hair, waiting for him. Håvard quickly leapt off Valiant, his horse, and swept Bera off her feet. Håvard swung Bera around, kissed her, and set her onto on her feet.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

If I wanted to ask or get advice on creating a profile for a character, where would I go to?

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon bloodyax2000 has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Welcome aboard the HMS Conquest of the Horde, @"bloodyax2000"!

Humility is definitely a good trait in any player! After all, you're put in touch with a lot of different people, with a lot of different egos. But if everybody treats each other with a bit of consideration, it does wonders for cooperation.

It appears Krotok has given you all the basics, but I'll take the liberty of linking you this nifty guide for new players. Also, don't forget to register a game account, so you can actually log onto the server. This character template might help you when you write your first profile, but you can also find a lot of help in our Articles & Guides forum, which Kortok mentioned.

Lastly, I'd like to wish you once again a hearty welcome to the server, and good luck! You can direct any questions you've got to our Forum Helpers or Game Masters.

Oh, and by the way, I'm an avid player of Crusader Kings 2. Do you play Scandinavians often? Your story makes me think you do. :)

Yay I'm in!Crazy Is it okay to reply? I'm not really sure, because I haven't seen others reply in their introduction thread. But, I'll reply anyways because leaving that question unanswered will bother me forever.

Yes, I absolutely love playing Scandinavians in Crusader Kings 2. So much, I have yet to play any other. I just simply cannot find myself to play anything other than them.

Haha! I'm just the same! My proudest achievements are "accidentally" conquering the Kingdom of Norway from Haraldr Fairhair when I just wanted the Faeroe Islands, and stealing the Empire of Scandinavia out of the hands of the Swedish royal house by clever abuse of elective succession and assassination! :P

And these threads usually don't grow very long, but a post or two doesn't hurt at all. You're certainly not forbidden. :)

By Armok, I do love your choice of favorite games.

Oftentimes, a person's favorite media tend to have an impact on how good their writing is simply because we are usually driven to create more of what we enjoy. So, something with an expansive, complex world, engaging story or cast of characters, or particularly expansive set of mechanics tends to lead to more interesting people and plots than say, your average CoD fan.

Nevertheless, nothing is set in stone, and it's quite a fun experience to see what people decide to come up with. Tauren/DK is certainly a rarer-seen combination.
