First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
Hola, I'm Toaster. I'm a lover of lit, a bona-fide procrastinator, and an English teacher living in the chilly north of Spain. My life is to write, and I've been writing from the day I learned that when words are put together, a mountain-ton of ridiculous things tend to happy.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I was born in England, and I am a native speaker.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I started with Warcraft 3. My neighbour had the game, and I bloody loved the thing. Then, I discovered WoW before its release. The hype-battle was between WoW and LoTRO. Of course, WoW was released first, so I ended up getting it. Now, here I am.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
Roleplay. I can't get enough of it. The official servers were limiting. Google search became my friend. I've lurked the forums here many times before, but I've never gotten round to posting an introduction. Until today.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I enjoy character building, adventure and touching upon the less-explored aspects of Azeroth. I'm not a fan of RP with a heavy emphasis on Plot with a capital P, and combat. Combat most of all. I avoid it as much as I can (combat against other players).

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
Ouch. That's a hard one. With Horde it's a three-way battle between the trolls, goblins and undead. It would be four if ogres were a playable race. And kobolds. As for class, I have a soft spot for hunters.

What are your expectations of this server?:
Excellent RP and interesting people.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Humility. I like to think it fits perfectly with my style of RP. That is, I enjoy being part of the crowd, rather than on the stage (it means less plot-heavy stuff, after all).

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
Sure, why not.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

(Some extract from something I'm working on.)

The lift descended, descended, descended into that black space of London, and the world seemed less real the further it went and Andre questioned himself, really, really questioned himself on why he became this person, this need to follow Vi: a complete, dangerous stranger.

The lift juddered to a stop. “Here we are. Enjoy your night, little Vi.”

“I will,” she grinned. Vi brushed the hair from her face and pushed the door open with a great show with the sole of her boot. They stepped into a grand atrium. Looking up, Andre saw the many stars and skies, some incomparable trick of light. A stream of people, in wild jungle dresses and bright eyes behind opera masks. Pillars descended upwards; wall-lights moving indistinguishably; jacket-men striding through the stage-floor on long, swale-like legs. Animal masks; pale masks; show masks; death masks – many masks. Vi grabbed hold of Andre’s fingers, and threaded him through the jam to the bar: the long, swathe of bar like a clean-cut with a barber’s knife; all the drinks lined like good soldiers on silver shelves.

The lion behind the bar sidled up between them, on the other side, and his teeth gleamed blue in the dim light. Vi leaned over and shouted for two cokes and vodka, and the lion twisted on his heels and spread his claws over the bottles, swiping with expert reaction for the correct tendon of vodka. Vodka and coke poured into plastic cups, spilling over the sides and forming invisible stains on the bar surface; the cup turning cold and cool. She paid with a tenner, and the lion grinned his animalistic satisfaction. She turned to me, faced me with her drink, and touched my drink to mine. I smiled my thanks, still unable to understand the situation I was in, if I was in a situation at all. I wasn’t dreaming, of that I was certain, because dreams hold unreality by the scruff of the neck and dangle it slight out of view. Here, the unreality, was in plain, violent sight, like a grotesque aubergine floating in the soup. She tilted towards me; I felt the cold side of her cup nestle against my wrist. “I have to tell you something, and it’s very important you listen to me.”

“I’m all ears,” I said back.

“This is a very dangerous place.”

“Then why did you bring me?”

“Because I like you.”

“Oh,” he said. He was a little surprised, but the scope of the place sort of dwarfed that feeling. The lion down the bar (that was also surprising: why were they the only one buying drinks?) was chatting with a hippo in a tutu. Wasn’t that familiar? He hoped it was only costume. It all seemed very real. “I like you too.”

“That’s nice – just listen. We’re going to have a good time, and then you’re going to go home. That’s all, that’s it. Don’t ask questions about this place: especially someone other than me. Understand?”

“Sure, I guess. Who are you, anyway, really?”

“I’m Vi, you know that.”

“But who ARE you?”

“A question for another time.” She was close. She drank. Andre drank.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
None that I can think of at the moment!

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon Toaster has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Could you expand on this? What about humility makes you appreciate it so?

Mainly, it suits my RP style. Spotlights make me nervous. Edited that bit in the application for a tad bit more info. :)

Let me be the first to formally welcome to CotH, @"Toaster"!

Yes, the spotlight is hot and burns my weak flesh. I'll be over here.. in the shadows.

Since Since @"Overseer Krotok" listed off the basics, I'd like to point you to a newbie guide that can also help ease you in. Even before your client is finished downloading, you can (and should!) register your in-game account in this Account Management page. Make sure you use the same information that you registered your forum name under. If you're feeling up to it, you can begin writing out a character profile using this template. There are many helpful articles and guides both on the wiki and forums.

I'm sure you've seen by now, we have a nice roster of custom-model characters already running amuck in our roleplay. While these are only available to Grunts+, I do hope you'll stick around and apply for an Ogre or Kobold. It would be great to see more Horde supporters!

If you come up with any problems or questions, feel free to contact any of the fancy colored staff members!
