First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:

Para-RP experienced, I have been role playing for almost 10 years now, I'm not the best, and I've over the years have RP'ed less and less so the more I learn, the less I know. I've role played on forums, games, you name it. I'm a pretty laid back person and I enjoy role playing with level headed people who can give and take.


What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:

I am born in the U.S, but I speak Russian as my first language, English my second although I'm proudly fluent in both, reading, writing and listening. I can also speak some Polish and Ukrainian but you won't get much from that out of me other than street talk.


How did you get into Warcraft?:

I originally played Warcraft II and enjoyed the game but what really got me into the Warcraft universe was the release of Warcraft III. Ever since then I've always been a fan of the lore and just in general the artistic style of the world.


How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:

I found this server while browsing lists via Google. A couple weeks ago I got back into retail and realized how much I actually missed being apart of the actual World of Warcraft and decided to give private servers a shot and see if I could fine a good one. I saw this server come up and it seems to take itself more seriously.


What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

Serious role play, I mean it. I can take a joke or two and some light and funny moments but I've grown tired of dry role play. This is World of Warcraft, keyword is the word war. War is scary, frightening and dangerous. People make jokes while plagues genocide there own homelands, wars break out and loved ones perish. Stories are no longer darker or have gore, something that I believe should happen. Warrior's laugh at the deaths of his own friends. Mages play with magic like it's just some sort of toy, completing disregarding any consequence to it. Hunters catch animals like it's as easy as going to Pet's Mart. Undead seem to giggle and laugh at being damned for eternity. I honestly can't take characters seriously, I have not seen one powerful character in any Warcraft server.


What is your favorite race/class? Why?:

I do not have one, but I do have a bias to play as Humans, they are my favorite race. Go figure right?


What are your expectations of this server?:

I hope this server can stick for the most part with the lore, or do it's best to stay with the lore with Warcraft. I do wish that there can be flexibility and stories made that players and the community can do and that there is a somewhat dynamic and changing world that is also player driven within moderation.


Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

I can't give you a favorite rule but regarding the rules themselves and my opinions of them. I'd say they are pretty blunt and very straight forward. Sensitive people need not apply.

Hello StormCrawler, and welcome to COTH!

If you haven’t already, please do make sure to double-check the rules and policies so you’re for sure familiar to the server’s expectations! If you have further questions, I recommend giving this guide a read, as it contains a lot of helpful information for players who are new to the server. Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to register your in-game account in the Account Management page using the same information you registered your forum name under. As for downloading the correct client and other things that you need to do in order to connect, I recommend giving this a read, as I found it very helpful myself when we made the switch to Cataclysm.

As for making your first character, there are a lot of helpful articles and guides for you to read up on in case you don’t fully understand the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips for making a character and for when you’re writing your first profile, such as scale and height.

When you get your account created, make sure to /join Chat and /join Barrens in-game for if you have any questions not answered in the forums. Additionally, if you have skype and want to connect to the community there, we have an official skype group. For more information, read this thread. Really interesting thoughts here. I think that since the game as it's played in the mainstream plays everything off as entertainment the general approach lacks sensitivity to violence and the horrors of war. A lot of people throw around the idea of escapism in regards to this approach but I've always found it kind of funny since a lot of gruesome human realities are right in your face. That being said, there's nothing preventing you from bringing a strong sense of reality to the fantasy world depicted in WoW - and CotH is certainly a welcoming environment for that kind of RP.

Don't worry about this. We have an OOC zone (GM Island) where you can play around and figure them all out with the help of other players that might happen to be loitering there.
