Introduction

First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I've been roleplaying in WC3 for a few years. I'm able to add depth to my roleplays, and I can adapt to any situation that I'm thrown into. I'm not too familiar with Warcraft lore. I know the basics, but I'm far from an historian. Immersion is my goal.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I live in the United States and speak English.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
I got into Warcraft through my brother when the WoW was just getting huge. He was around for the glorious week-long battlegrounds and raids and told of the spectacle that is Warcraft. I faded from WoW after WotLK and took up WC3. I'm back and ready.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
I found you guys on Google. :P

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
I enjoy all kinds of roleplay. I favor diplomacy and realistic faction roleplays, but I'm up for anything. The only kind of roleplays I do not like are anime and ERP.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I like Tauren. They're the first race I played and they will always be the best. They're strong, yet gentle. It's just perfect. As for class, I like druids. It's a very diverse class with a lot of potential.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I expect a great community of people who have come together for something amazing: roleplay.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
I like the respect rules. It's very good to see a server enforcing such a simple concept that makes such a huge difference. Respect is key to a good roleplay.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
Sure, why not? It'll be good to have somebody to help me get established on here.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Brushing aside a thin branch to make way for his prying eyes, Ka'lik gripped his bow tighter. The caravan was scheduled to come through today, and after weeks of planning and days of waiting, he was more than ready to reap his reward. Below him stretched a small clearing alongside a narrow cobblestone road. This had been the most preferable spot to lay ambush. He had just lay his bow down when the distant clatter of hooves on rough stone met his ear. With no more than a curt nod, all seven of his men were in position and aimed at the road. The trap was set.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
I look forward to joining you all.

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon Kalik has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Hello Kalik, and welcome to COTH!

If you haven’t already, please do make sure to double-check the rules and policies so you’re for sure familiar to the server’s expectations! If you have further questions, I recommend giving this guide a read, as it contains a lot of helpful information for players who are new to the server. Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to register your in-game account in the Account Management page using the same information you registered your forum name under. As for downloading the correct client and other things that you need to do in order to connect, I recommend giving this a read, as I found it very helpful myself when we made the switch to Cataclysm.

As for making your first character, there are a lot of helpful articles and guides for you to read up on in case you don’t fully understand the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips for making a character and for when you’re writing your first profile, such as scale and height.

When you get your account created, make sure to /join Chat and /join Barrens in-game for if you have any questions not answered in the forums. Additionally, if you have skype and want to connect to the community there, we have an official skype group. For more information, read this thread. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance, and I’ll give if a reply as soon as I can! And if not me, any Overseer, GM, or Forum Helper.

If you like Tauren and Druids, you'll be happy to hear that we've got a lot of activity happening in Hyjal that you can have a druid take part in. Tauren are great, and it's always great to welcome a Tauren player into the fold.

I have to ask, what kind of RP do you consider 'diplomatic RP' in the WoW setting? It's not a usual answer but I'd like to be able to guide you in the right direction to find that kind of RP if it's your thing.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your stay!

By diplomatic roleplay, I was referring to something quite common in WC3, Age of Empires, and other RTS games in which you assume the position as leader of some sort of group and act out diplomatic situations such as treaties, trade, war, etc.

Hmm, well we don't allow players to have leaders of really large factions, but we do have noble houses, which can interact in diplomatic ways if the players running them are up to it. Basically they can have a number of the same problems that require diplomacy, only on a smaller scale.

I don't really expect, nor particularly want, to have any diplomatic roleplay going on here. I just enjoy it now and again. Thank you for the direction, though!
