Desert Mouse Introduction
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:

As a player I will be friendly to anyone that crosses my path and helpful to those who need it. I love to be a bit goofy at times when playing with friends and I cant help but try to liven up the mood when things get too boring or dull.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I'm originally from Cuba and my primary language is English but I do know Spanish.

How did you get into Warcraft?:

Back when I was just a tiny thirteen year old boy I saw the trailers for the burning crusade, I thought "Holy frijoles, what the fudge is that?" and I continued over to You Tube and watched machinima after machinima of World of Warcraft. After a few weeks of begging and mundane chores I had finally convinced my mom to buy me the original game and the expansion.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:

I've always loved to role play but everyone knows that role playing in an actual World of Warcraft server is like making a huge sign that says "Freaks over here, make fun of us." So I looked for a way to find a proper place to role play and here I am.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

I absolutely love to role play in a military fashion; Structure, ranks, lords, kings, nobility, etc. I also do love a bit of romance. Come to think of it I never actually ventured away from these types of role playing

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:

I always seems to go back to being a Blood Elf, I love the way the look and their type of architecture. The Blood Elf architecture comes off to me as being very civilized and royal, of which I simply adore.
As for race, it would be a bit tricky for me to decide because I am torn between the dark powers of the warlocks and the knightly ways of the warrior and paladins. And then theres a death knight, i have a love for them because they sort of combine a warlock and a warrior . If i had to choose I would eventually pick a death knight.

What are your expectations of this server?:

I'm expecting a server with friendly people and very engaging role play.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

"Public character channels, such as /say, /emotes and /yell should be in character", this rule appeals to me the most because ever since I started playing World of Warcraft i've always wanted to be fully immersed in the universe I was participating in. I feel as if this rule will fully drive that immersion, especially since this is my first time playing in a private server.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):

Yes, I would absolutely love to have a mentor. Someone to show me the ropes and take me under their wing.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

When I was a junior in high school I had a strange event happen to me at midnight. My mother and I had just finished having a fairly intense argument about some insignificant subject, I brushed it off as "Just another one of those days", I watched television for a good few minutes and headed off to sleep. I drifted off and began what I thought would be a good nights sleep. I awoke at an unknown time but it was incredibly dark inside of my room. I had fallen asleep back side down, my head was facing to the right. I noticed that there was something odd with my environment, I proceeded to scan my room with only my eyeballs. I could only scan what was in direct sight of me, meaning that I couldn't see anything up to the ceiling or towards my chest. I tried to move slightly but found myself mystified because I could hardly move any of my body. Abruptly a deep and concerning voice began to talk in front of my face over my chest. I could not see it as my eyes strained to look towards the talking. The voice talked in an unfamiliar language of what seemed to be a mix of Latin and German. I became furious, my hands wriggled as they tried to form a fist, my lips curled as I was filling up with anger and fear. It continued to speak in a professional tone and as it did I then found myself waking up the next morning with confusion and left over fear. I couldn't comprehend what had just happened and I wasn't sure if it was a dream or not. What I do know was that it was truly the most horrifying experience I have ever had.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon DesertMouse has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Welcome to CotH, @"DesertMouse"!

I totally read DessertMouse at first. Mmm, dessert.

Yeah I can see how much I take for granted only using the /s /e /y for IC interactions. Sometimes a new player will join us and I can't help but to reactively cringe when they make a spelling correction in /s instead of group chat or the General channel. I think if you really appreciate that, you'll feel right at home*.

*Disclaimer: The OOC area on GM Island is some sort of hazy mix of OOCness and IC point of views. If that doesn't make sense then we've got something in common.

Since Since @"Overseer Krotok" listed off the basics, I'd like to point you to a newbie guide that can also help ease you in. Even before your client is finished downloading, you can (and should!) register your in-game account in this Account Management page. Make sure you use the same information that you registered your forum name under. If you're feeling up to it, you can begin writing out a character profile using this template. There are many helpful articles and guides both on the wiki and forums.

If you have any problems or questions, feel free to contact any of the fancy colored staff members!
The true test of his choice lies forward.
