Introduction (Kodak)
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:

21 years old, male, and have been since I was five years old. Originally, I started out into action/adventure games, but later branched out into a multitude of gaming categories. Roleplaying came at a much later time, around 12-ish. But it was more of just making up stories as I went along in RPG games as well as strategy games that allowed me to name and or edit units. I eventually got my start on RPing with others across several programs, BYOND being one of them. I still enjoying roleplaying, but recently haven't found a place where I can make my stay and enjoy my time.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:

I'm from the United States, my primary language is english. Although, I'm also trying to learn spanish but as of yet, have decided to hold off on that for a bit.

How did you get into Warcraft?:

A while back, I had some interest in it when a childhood friend of mine introduced me to the Warcraft gaming. At first, I didn't know there'd be an MMO on the game until a little later after they launched, announcing that they did trials. After that, I'd say I had an on and off relation regarding WoW as a whole.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:

A friend of mine in a skype RP group recommended this, I figured 'Sure why not? We can't find any other competent places so might as well do this.'

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:

I enjoy a wide variety of roleplay. Whether it's casual conversation, intense fighting, or even the occasional training. I can switch up from light, medium, to heavy roleplay when ever it's suited and generally don't mind between the three.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:

I'd say the orcs. They're a strong and nomadic tribe that just want a place of their own. Unfortunately, they have a tough time sharing with the other races and just want things to be kept orc'ky, you know? All the blood, violence, and occasional fun that only orcs can enjoy.
What are your expectations of this server?:

My expectations are kept low, mostly due to past experiences in other RP venues. But still, I doubt this server will fall short of any of my expectations.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:

I'd say the ressurection/Grand exit rule. It's nice to know that this server is willing to handle something that people think will just be done all willy-nilly. If you're going to do a great sacrifice, you're doing it because it's the right thing to do IC-wise. Not because it'll be all fine and dandy next morning with everyone celebrating your ressurection with a cake and ice cream party.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):

No thanks, I got the general gist of things down.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:

The scorching heat blared itself over the desert, the grains of sand each becoming like a clump of coal that burned at the soles of his leather boots. Trudging through the horrid sand, he needed to trek across in order to find water, to survive this nightmare. Tattered cloth clung to his body, barely protecting him from the solar rays that seared into his chocolate colored skin. Jaded eyes with a verdant gaze stared outwards, brows furrowed, lips quivering as they had long cracked from being parched.

He was alone. For miles, sand upon sand, hills made from it lined up all around himself. His senses began to grow dull, unable to feel the pain in the soles of his feet no longer, bodily awareness becoming irrelevant, slumped onto his knees before the endless ocean of sand. There was no end of it in sight, succumbing to his lack of energy, plopping face first into the desert flooring. Life fleeting, slipping from his grasp as a hand stretches out towards his vision. A vision of a lake, lush green grass and a palm tree dangling over head.

A sudden force seemed to propel the lost wanderer, the sensation of sand gliding underneath his skin causing him to keep his eyes open for a little while longer. Something caught a hold of his arm, some being with the silhouette of a human. Dragged by the lake, left near the edge as the cooling waters touched his skin. Life sprang forth in his body, diving right in with his feeble energy. Replenishing himself, the wanderer soaked in the lake's rejuvenating liquids. However, once his enjoyment of the water was over, the wanderer noticed the mysterious stranger was no where to be seen.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
Nope, that's all I got.

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon KodakKodiak has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Hello KodakKodiak, and welcome to COTH!

If you haven’t already, please do make sure to double-check the rules and policies so you’re for sure familiar to the server’s expectations! If you have further questions, I recommend giving this guide a read, as it contains a lot of helpful information for players who are new to the server. Also, if you haven’t already, make sure to register your in-game account in the Account Management page using the same information you registered your forum name under. As for downloading the correct client and other things that you need to do in order to connect, I recommend giving this a read, as I found it very helpful myself when we made the switch to Cataclysm.

As for making your first character, there are a lot of helpful articles and guides for you to read up on in case you don’t fully understand the lore. The wiki also contains helpful tips for making a character and for when you’re writing your first profile, such as scale and height.

When you get your account created, make sure to /join Chat and /join Barrens in-game for if you have any questions not answered in the forums. Additionally, if you have skype and want to connect to the community there, we have an official skype group. For more information, read this thread. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance, and I’ll give if a reply as soon as I can! And if not me, any Overseer, GM, or Forum Helper.

Mmm yes, if that's a vision quest in your story then I really like your interpretation of it.

May you by chance be connected to those other guys that joined the server tonight? Byond is site I've seen mentioned. How is that site anyways? Never tried it out.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your stay!
