Urusaki's Intro
#1
First and foremost: Tell us about yourself, as a player:
I started role-playing in 2007, playing simple games on the BYOND game engine. In 2009, I discovered World of Warcraft, a delightfully fun game, rich with lore and tons of fun features. After a while of getting used to the game on one of the primary PvE servers, I decided to try an RP server. You can imagine my disappointment upon discovering that most Retail RP servers became simple flood servers for players to use when maintenance kicked in. I love to get in depth with my character, even creating characters with bipolar disorder at some points.

What country do you come from? What is your primary language?:
I am from the United States, born and raised an Indiana boy. I speak English on a regular basis, but I am also fluent in Spanish.

How did you get into Warcraft?:
My infatuation with Warcraft began with Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. I fell in love with the hero aspect of combat, the strategy required, and the ability to customize what I wanted to do. My dad saw my love of the game, and bought me The Frozen Throne expansion pack, which I devoured within a week. Before Warcraft however, I was a Starcraft baby. By this, I mean that I started playing StarCraft when I was very, very, young.

How did you find us? Did anything in particular draw you to the server?:
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a decent RP server. Tonight, out of rage, I simply typed in "wow wotlk RP server," and this is the first thing that popped up. I am hoping to enjoy my time here.

What kinds of roleplay do you enjoy?:
This is a trick question. Any role-player worth a grain of salt loves EVERY aspect of RP. I love when people get in depth with their character background however. It draws me into the world even more.

What is your favorite race/class? Why?:
I first started WoW as a Human Rogue named Vart. It was a randomly generated name, and it made me laugh. My favorite race is probably the Night Elves, due to their ties with nature, and their mysterious ways. It doesn't hurt that my favorite Warcraft character, Illidan, is a Night Elf as well. My favorite class is a 100% even mix between Hunter and Death Knight. I love the Hunter due to the companionship that a pet provides, but the Death Knight give you a sense of strength in solitude.

What are your expectations of this server?:
I am really, really, REALLY, hoping that for once, I find a good server that I can enjoy and role-play on when I can. I am hoping that the rules are actually enforced, and that players are not 100% crazy intense. I enjoy to kid around a lot based on what happens in role-play, but I never let that get in the way of the experience of others. People that are crazy intense discourage having fun.

Out of all of our rules and regulations listed on our server, which appeals to you the most?:
Tolerance. I personally am a homosexual, and nothing in the living world irritates me more than an ignorant troll, seeking nothing more than to destroy the good times of others.

Did you know that we have a Mentor Program? It's entirely voluntary and you as a new player can sign up for it right now in your introduction! Are you interested in signing up to be assigned a Mentor? If so, say so here (Please enter at least "Yes" or "No"):
I have no problem being assigned a mentor. I would prefer it to be honest.

Lastly, tell us a story! It can be short, it can be long; but most importantly, we want to see your work in action. Go!:
Bear in mind this is just an example, not an actual canon story. A sensitive Death Knight? HAH!

Otarun walked through the door, his eyes bright with wonder. <Is this Stormwind Keep? It is so BIG!>. His bliss was quickly interrupted by the return of the glares, the eyes full of hatred, and the unspoken death threats should he make even a single misstep. Another group of people blaming him for his actions. "IT WASN'T MY FAULT!," he almost yelled, non-existent tears welling up in his cold, cold eyes. Only Otarun and the letter he now held in his hands knew that his actions were against his will. <Highlorde Mograine sure was nice though, he didn't look at me like a piece of useless trash>. Finishing his walk up a steadily climbing white stone path, he passed onto carpet. A rich blue carpet bordered with red. <This must be it...>. As he passed through a vast opening, he came eye to eye with Varian Wryyn himself. And the king was glaring daggers.

Is there anything else you would like to add, ask, or otherwise clarify?:
What kind of playerbase does the WotLK server have?

Throm'ka, potential recruit!

You have taken a tremendous step with this submission! You will receive an 'official' response in due time, but meanwhile you may wish to ensure you've reviewed the following:
  • Rules (Remember, ignorance is no excuse in the case of rule-breaking! Don't make the Peon Overseers lash you with the whip any more than necessary!)
  • Policies (There are some policies that may be rather uncommon, so if you have not yet checked them then spare a moment to do so!)

Some extra reading that may be of use:
Soon, you should receive a reply to your submission from one of the Peon Overseers informing you of whether you are a suitable candidate for Peonship. Be patient! Just review the above information and a response will come before you know it! As an aside, I think Peon Urusaki has an... er... 'interesting' ring to it, eh?

Welcome, Urusaki!

Now, I first want to say that the WotlK server around here was wonderful, and served us beautifully for many years... But it is now a thing of the past. We are now primarily a Cataclysm server, in policy and community.

That being said, don't be discouraged! We actually have good, sane worgen characters here, (I know retail can be scary at times. >.>) and in general, the rules around here are very consistently enforced. But its not about enforcing rules here, its about fostering the right attitude- we expect a lot from our users (detailed character profiles, limited character power, constant OoC respect) but we try to give them all the tools they need to do so.

As for tolerance relating to your sexual orientation, it really isn't going to be a problem here. I myself recently discovered that Grakor, one of the two Administrators of our community, is gay, as made clear in a recent server post. And really, I find that to be great- he had no need to hide nor advertise it. Its just part of who he is. We have a variety of users on the LGBTQA spectrum, and though our characters can share biases ICly, the rule of respect still applies, and if something makes you uncomfortable, please discuss it with the participating players OoCly.

Back on the topic of Warcraft, we have some pretty good DK characters around, though I'm always excited to see users whose opinions on the Night Elves are informed most strongly by Warcraft 3. I have to admit, they don't quite get as much attention on this server (I dare say, less than the surprisingly popular dwarves) but there are still plenty of opportunities for them to RP. Again, the well-played worgen around here would probably be a great place to start as a good place for Nelf characters.

If you haven't had a chance yet to do so, I strongly advise that you read over the Rules and Policies posted above by Overseer Krotok. With that said, I would also like to direct you to the Account Management page, where you can create your in-game account. Please use the same login information that you have used for the forums. You do not have to submit a character profile in order to begin roleplaying, but if you are waiting for the client to download or want to get a jump on earning your Gruntship, you can get started writing your profile Here.

As for getting settled into the server proper, I would suggest reading Reigen's New Player Guide. It lists useful commands, portal locations, Grunt information and more, all neatly collected in one post. To get connected to the community outside the client, continue browsing the forums and/or take a look at this thread to learn how to join our Skype group.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask them here or contact any of the GMs and Forum Helpers found Here.
