Moonglade And Nighthaven: Who can go?
#1
Okay, kiddos!

A heated discussion arose today as we brought up the topic..."Who really would be allowed within Moonglade and Nighthaven."

Quote:Less harmony is enjoyed with the forest's more dangerous denizens. Satyrs - cursed, deranged night elves - also lurk here and plague the night elves' solitude frequently. Some furbolgs, driven feral by drinking the foul waters of Felwood, will attack travelers as well. Fierce dire wolves and hippogryphs have also been reported in the area. In addition to these animals are the ancients: sentient trees that act as protectors of the forest. Treants, the smaller tree-men cousins to the ancients, roam the Moonglade. These beings act as fierce protectors of the forest. They do not hesistate to unleash their might upon any who would damage trees or otherwise harm nature.

This is in reference to being within the forest; many animals, ancients and treants attack anyone they feel -would- damage the trees or harm nature.

Quote:The Gold Road once reached all the way to Moonglade, and Nighthaven, but with the corruption of Felwood it became very isolated, as strangers are no longer welcome by the Timbermaw furbolgs. Recently, the peace in Moonglade itself has become threatened, as bizarre creatures from the Nightmare have found a way into a wing of the Stormrage Barrow Dens.

Quote:With the Burning Legion defeated, the Timbermaw furbolgs have recently taken their first, careful steps outside of the safety of Timbermaw Hold. They are wary of all strangers, fearing that they may mistake them for their corrupted brethren and attack. However, the Timbermaw are painfully aware that they will not last on their own; adventurers who seek out Timbermaw Hold in northern Felwood and prove themselves as friends of the Timbermaw will learn that the furbolgs value their friends above all else.

In one source it says that indeed they wouldn't be allowed through, the other than they have to prove themselves. It is -my feeling- that just like the Cenarion Circle, outsiders would have to take years of constant help and dedication to be allowed through, or even considered friends. Anyone else have an opinion please post.

Quote:This city once held the largest concentration of night elves anywhere on Kalimdor. Massive trees, ancients, and many forest beasts fill the surrounding woods. Nighthaven has survived for centuries despite demon and undead attacks, and the night elves protect their home fiercely. They are very cautious of whom they let enter the village. High elves are not allowed under any circumstances, and anyone smelling of arcane power is likewise turned away.

Quote:While visitors may come and go as they please for the most part, they are never allowed near moon wells. In addition, any high elves seen near a moon well are attacked on sight

Now this is the direct tie to you Vallance, (No mean to seem attackish, but this was the reason we moved it to the forums) High elves, like what your character preaches to be trying to be honoring, and the idea of anyone smelling of Arcane power, like Blood Elves do, would -never- be allowed in. Also, if your character was within the forests, it would be most likely...attacked, if not killed by the treants and like because of the way you look. They know what Blood Elves have done and are not going to be happy to see you.

Also! I do understand that they would allow people to go in to there because Lunar Festival but I believe they would still be -very- cautious even during the time of celebration.

Now here is where I want other people to come in. Opinions on this topic are nice, Ioki has stated that there is no way he would be let in, along with several others, but multiple GMs on the topic would be nice to hear.

Those are indeed my opinions, like most of them will be in the forum. Also, the quotes are from wowpedia.org.

P.S. I didn't mean to make it appear as if I was attacking Vallance, it was more or less we were the two discussing it. .../shakes fist! But I could insert your names in there too. . . Kidding!

I have no problem with being named, seeing as it involves me.

It does indeed say that high elves and anyone smelling of arcane magic will be -Turned away-. So I am cool with not going there, But.. I have been everywhere in the Moonglade and I have not seen an ent. Though it is ICly possible. If I am turned away from a city, I don't see how they will want to kill me in the forest. Because I am specifically there to help them and tend to nature.

That might be true, but anyone that the treants or ancients see within the forests that they feel would be there to harm nature, would be killed. Now like you said, ICly there are many more than what we see, so you have to take that into consideration.

Just so you know, any tree in the entire night elf forest can randomly start walking around become a treant. They just need a night elf druid or two to get them riled up!
