New channel to link items

The topic's subject speaks for itself.
I'd like to see a new channel maybe called "Link" or something where we link various items we'd like to send to players or ask or have them Ctrl+Click them or things like that.
Not everyone enjoys hanging around the BarrensChat as it can get pretty spammy at times and I would definitelly like to not join and leave everytime I want to link an item.

I would be all for this, if linking was more common.
Barrens does get spammy, but instead of a channel solely for linking; I think it would be more cohesive to have a general Trade channel for the entire server instead.
Otherwise making a channel for linking alone would just be arbitrarily adding a single-purpose channel, when we have several of those already.

This has been brought up before. The main problem I see with it is if you don't like the spam in barrens, what makes you think you'll like it any better here? Well, you won't, item spam is spam, even if the channel is specifically for it. And to that end you'll only ever be in the channel when you want to present things. If everyone acts this way then they would only ever go in to offer items, then leave not long after, as they don't want to be spammed by everyone else.

In the end, you get a channel that has little use as only a few people would actually spend the time to stay in it full time. I suggest instead making a private channel for random conversation, not for items. Invite some friends and chat well away from the barrens item spam.

You could always /whisper it to them or vice versa or even invite them into a party.

Yeah sure, a general trade channel sounds fine. We can link items there and people can ask others to link their professions for roleplaying purposes.

I didn't mean that BarrensChat gets spammy with people linking a lot of items. I meant with different conversations that I would rather not watch. So in order to stay away from these, either I leave the channel or create a new tab that doesn't include the BarrensChat channel. Either way, I'll be cut off from it.

You whisper an item to 25 people, I'd rather just say it once on a channel. Much easier if you ask me.

A: BarrensChat and ONLY BarrensChat. All other IC and OOC channels should not be spammed.

If you don't like your chat window being spammed, don't join BarrensChat. If someone wants to link an item for the "lol" factor, that would be the place to do it. If it's for actual discussion, I think the Trade channel makes sense.

Qaza, I have read the Chat FAQs. You did not understand me, my post was not meant to complain that the BarrensChat is full of spam. Do whatever you want there, that's what the name says. I clearly stated that I would like a place to link items and in the same time to not be on the BarrensChat.
And linking, I did not mean.. "hey guise lulz check this pwnzor item", I actually meant for roleplay. People are looking for gear that they don't always come across. I'd like to link what I find somewhere so they can see and pick whatever they need.
And I thought Trade was only for my specific faction (Alliance/Horde), am I wrong?

It's perfectly acceptable (To me at least) to link items in Chat if you're just trying to give it away or asking someone for it. If you do it a LOT that's a bad thing, but once in a while is totally fine (If it's RP relevant, that's what Chat is for!).

I like the idea of a trade thing too, because I have chat tabs that don't include Barrens due to large convos in there that spam my window. But I don't want to miss items I might want/need. A general Trade would be nice for this.
