3.The not so talented witch doc. (He makes strange potions that have random affects and accidently turned his brother into a toad.)
4.The petit orc male, he never was the big strong guy most orcs are
5.The stupid rogue, he tries stealth but it never works, he tries to disarm the enemy, and loses his own weapon
6.The apprentice mage, a spellcaster that messes up commonly on anything above the most basic of spells
7.The military gnome, he focuses on killing rather than inventing
8.The dwarf that dislikes alchohal
9.The medium rate fighter that is average in all aspects he just took up a weapon and shield in defense of his lands.
10.The hunter-hunter who cares about nature, I gather pelts and meat and sell them

1. Sure! Great idea!
2. They would easily be seen as mary sues, the whole dark tall stranger hero stereotype.
3. Yup, those should be done.

7. One word: Roobald, though, Blood thirsty Gnomes should be rare. Gnomes are not hungry for might by nature, and if they do become hungry for might and power their friends and family do everything to take his or her power. Sicco Thermaplug would be the best example.
8. Are you serious?
9. Been done a lot, especially in the coalition thing?
10.Wasn't Maeven one of these?

You forgot the pretty elf stereotype though, and the Sarcastic Forsaken.
Mabra Dragonbasher- A battle hungry dwarven lady, hirable for personal protection and for larger tasks requiring violence.

I personally have always embraced the stereotypes.
During my days on retail; I've always seen nothing except those that have played characters solely set to "break the mold", to the degree that you have so many eccentric sorts running about; that any real "tried and true" character notions are a small niche. In that regard, I believe creativity goes two ways:

You have those that continually will try to think beyond the box; and then you have those that will make the most within the constraints of lore, and completely live that up.

I've always fallen into the latter in that respect; and reflect my characters to what one would expect from the class in tow. (Rogues steal and play tricks, fighters drink and fight, shamans are peaceful, loving and serene creatures...) Essentially, what you see is what you get. Much like Disney characters; you know what they are all about before they even open their mouths.

If there is anything I would personally like to see though; are inherently flawed characters. (#5, #6, and #9)
There's nothing that pushes my happy-button more, than ultimately seeing a character that is so laden with imperfections, flaws and shortcomings; to the degree that character's spontaneity breaks the mold by vice and downfall alone.

I'm a Shaman? Really? Huh.

Ah, then you'll want to come visit Gambinka. He may very well be the worst witchdoctor around, he wouldn't know if a potion makes you shrink or grow, or if it gives intelligence or strength. Might be because he never actually showed any real promise while training, but still. =P Also, Wink is hardly the world's most successful inventor. xD
