Paychecks
#1
The SSC (Silver Shield Confederation) will be paying its members. Paying, that is, in real in-game gold.

The current salary for members is yet to be decided and (realistic) suggestions are welcome here.

To make this work, I'll need help from a few people. One, I ask that people donate if they like, least I have to grind it all myself. Two, I ask that people please update me regularly on their ties to the Confederation (As in, if you have signed up your guild please send me a PM about it so I can sign you up for the pay roll). Three, that you all be trustworthy.

My general plan for this is to either hire a few treasures in the SSC to distribute the amounts of gold, or to send gold to the guild leaders of the Confederation so that they may then distribute it out among guild members. I'd like to spread out the work of distributing, as it can really eat into your time sending all that mail.

Any ideas? Comments? Suggestions? Post 'em here.

Perhaps you can use that new nifty Gryphonheart Item Creator thingymabobby(I still don't know how to work it myself) to create "checks" that can be cashed in. More tedious but it goes well with realism, then again, if we really wanted that, we'd rather be earning that check IRL. Hehe.

Well, Walluce, Gold is shiny and attainable through long hours of menial labor. I remember checking that article in the Lore section on money in the Warcraft world. Through Diethe's accurate assumption that a Silver is a dollar, I can make a fair and accurate guesstimation that two gold pieces a check would IC be a good price. We all know that mounts and stuff cost like hundreds, so I think it would be nice to share a bit more.

I'm not sure how many players will be involved, and how much they are getting payed might factor in, but if you want to play it safe, more is better. For a full-service salary, maybe 300 gold (Less than a house, more than a horse) would appease the Warcraft Titans of finance and still compensate even well off players on the server?

Edit: I just realized that 300 gold is alot of gold to grind that will be given out freely. Must think on this further. I'll get back to you.

Actually, I've seen a lot more than ever that gems have become the currency of choice for most players. Thus perhaps you should be grinding those cheap, easy to obtain gems and using them as a form of payment? Then again, I don't really like the idea of a real payment at all as it cuts away from your precious RP time.

I'd say stick to gold, as it's a bit easier to deal with. If not, you can always OOCly buy them, or contact Silltes, the gem king. :P

Well, the point of paying them is to give out some extra cash so that they may partake in certain venues such as Shatterspear village or the auction house, more actively. Grunts are given a lump sum of gold for every approved lvl 80 but a little more spending money couldn't hurt them, neither would it hurt the peons.
(As a side note I encourage those with manufacturing skills such as Leatherworking and blacksmithing to post their items on the auction house, instead of selling them to NPC vendors.)

Gems may be an idea, but I'm not entirely sure it would work. I'll think it over more... Any other comments?
