Well... I have a question
#1
I read somewhere that if ya dont get vouched, your character gets a ban and a boot out of the server? Is that true?
I know that "It's only a stamp." and "It doesnt really matter." being level 80 or 70 or so. But I think, that it doesnt seem like me to be that huge level. It just doesnt fit my name, my being, or anything. Being a grunt makes people seem higher than the peons. And then people might start RPing with you because you're a grunt, you can vouch. (Atleast, that's what I think).
Im not really interested in getting money, or levels, but then I saw this Topic, where a "guy" said that if you do NOT get vouched, you get the ban. I dont want to get a ban, but I dont want to be lvl80 and have alot of money either, so what do I do not to get banned, and not to get to lvl 80.
I could also write a profile, (which I already did thought, and I failed because I'm not acustomed to these rules yet.) And then not tell a GM I've got a profile, but that would seem like a waste.
Azheron's back in business. For reals.

I think what your reading is if you get your character over level 50 when he's not approved then he gets suspeneded the character that is. And as for the peons coming up to grunts for vouches yes it does happen but not too often most of the grunts can see right through it and won't vouch them.

It's what Tales set. In theory, you -never- need to become a grunt, or get an accepted profile. You simply can't level past 50 or vouch for people, but you won't get banned.

The level 50+ ban is a character ban, and that just lasts until somebody can set you back to level 50. The idea behind it is that characters above level 50 have all been approved by GMs. (Which is also the reason why some people prefer to RP with those people over low level ones.)

We will not ban you for not getting any or too few vouches, the rule that Tales explained is most likely the one you might have misunderstood. What it means however is that if you are found with a character over level 50 and do not fulfill the requirements (being fully vouched and having an approved profile for that character) the toon/character, not your account, will be suspended until you fulfill those requirements.

As for not wanting to get to 80, it´s understandable and some players prefer to level their characters themselves, I believe that if you wish you can simply ask to not get the auto level to 80 after having your profile approved. You won´t recieve any of the special gifts in that case, at least not until you reach 80.

how can you fulfill the requirement for vouches, if your character is banned though?
Also, I will state my opinion on the lvl 50 max thing, and why I find it a bit ridiculous.

No it's not just a stamp. tbh, I dont care to be lvl 1 or 100 or 200. or 80.
What I want to? simple: I want quest items! I hunt quests for items, because to me, RP is not just about story, it's also on a very aesthetic level. Why do you wonder I haul around me three kit of equipement: my "combat" set (which is pretty unfitting and ugly), my "uniform" set (a beautiful set of thalassian armor you can simply buy at the starter place of Blood Elf) and a "normal" set (which includes a sindorei-red and gold trimmed shirt and pants, and a sub set which is a robe)? Yes, to me it feels very satisfactory...

But with a 50 limit, I dare not go further (I am already at 50, on the verge of 51, and only have one vouch... when I tried getting more, I actually got reprimanded for asking...)

Admitetly, I still do need to fix my profile, which is pretty messed up atm... but the vouching system seems truly broken.

I mean, let's say I don't ask - how can you differentiate a new player, from a grunt, but on a low level character? You can't really, now, can't you?
Sorry if it sounds like whining...

Well only your character is suspended. I strongly encourage you to try at least two. One alliance and one horde, this way you'll have more roleplaying opportunities and if by mistake you get one of them suspended, you play the others. Vouches are given to you as a player, not to a specific character.

It's really not ridiculous, the limit was set to level 50 for a reason.
Death Knights can be created at level 55 as far as I know. So the level was set in place to make sure no peons can get them (considering that they -are- special profiles that are available only to grunts).

Also, you can get great items even in lower levels. You really don't need to pass level 50 to have great gear. I remember back when I just got my "gruntage" I began looking for gear make of junk (grey) and uncommon (green) items all under the level 40. I did found them and I did receive a lot of "Hey.. awesome gear you have there!"

And don't worry about it. You're definitelly not the only one against the vouching system. I know I am. It's flawed to the point where "gruntness" is considered a goal. It should not be like that but it's what we have for the moment.

Cheers. ^^

Not banned, suspended.

And there's no rule saying you have to have only one character, nor is there a time bomb ticking on your 50's chest. Stick around a town, talk to people, chat in the /chat channel, so on, so forth.

If you like to quest, make another character of a different race and run around on them! You'll get a whole new set of PvE adventures and not risk the suspension of your 50... as well as thinking about new storylines. I carry around a billion RP outfits myself, and I really enjoy it, too. But I did that at 30 just the same as I'm doing at 80.

The difference between a Grunt and a Peon is, at the technical level, only three posts under your introduction and 80 or levels on any of your approved character profile. But I'm getting a sense you're thinkin' of us like quest mobs that aren't tagged. You shouldn't have to be able to tell a Grunt apart from a Peon at first glance. That's not the point.

I think of Vouches like gifts, or an unexpected appreciation award. They aren't something you're really supposed to ask for, or hunt for. They're offered as a sign of support. Being a Grunt is NOT necessary for RP. It's just something kinda cool.

So, in summary? Explore RPing more, and try to forget about Vouches altogether. They'll come when they come and not before, and the whole reason we're here is to have fun- not stress about the color of our name on the forums. :D
