Im no good at this stuff but this is what I've been thinking and trying to find out lately
Is it possible to open the whisper addon channel to cross faction? or has Blizz made it impossible?
And also, trading with cross faction seems to be hard coded since it was possible prewipe but no longer... :/
At any rate, my main topic for this post is opening the addon channel so that it communicates regardless of faction, if possible. Im currently searching the arcEmu forums for help but I havent yet found nuffin. If any of you have an idea or a definitive answer, please post.

The issue is that cross-faction trades are pretty much impossible now by normal means. Without that, it doesn't matter whether or not the addon channel works or not (which I believe it does, anyhow).

I haven't tried it, but maybe the mail still works? :/
That possibly still doesn't differentiate between factions...I think...

Dammit... I knew that, I understood that... but I still didnt quite really realize it before I wrote this xD
But what about buff use? GHI allows making of some pretty nifty buffs and without the addon channel opened to cross faction, you cant see opposing factions chars buffs

I think you do see cross-faction "buffs", at least we did before 3.1.3.

GHI does not work with mail and Im fairly sure that GHI buffs didnt work even before 3.1.3 as they still dont.
The acemu forum is coming up with nuffin. . . Im gonna keep looking.

I'm fairly sure I saw an Orc's GHI buffs with a Human character. Maybe you should have a test to see if the buffs are visible?

I have done! Thats weird. . . I am absolutely sure that it does not work for me... ally chars cannot see my horde chars GHI buffs.. but it sounds weird if others can? o.O

Ok, Im continuing this post since there has bee new discoveries. . .
GHI buffs do not work for me in cross faction use, nor for many other but some calim that it does, very weird...
Another thing that I've noticed since update is that FlagRSP no longer works for me cross faction. But alliance characters can see my FlagRP info... o.O Very. Weird.
And also, there was a ally char in shatterpear that was able to see Horde chars FlagRSP info.... but.. Not alliance chars info.
Now, I would like to test this a bit. Make an GHI buff item and ask people(especially cross faction folks) if they can see the buff and report here. Same with FlagRSP
