After rping for over an hour I clicked the x to shut the game. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but at least one screen shot of earlier play? Let me explain my question.
When I shut the game at least one (maybe at least 3 or 4) shots of play from over an hour before (me sitting at a table earlier) flashed in the window before the game closed. I was wondering, is this a normal thing? I just happened to be looking closely at the screen when this happened.

I only mention this because I realized that the current Blizzard news is appearing on the side of the login screen. So the game must still have some connection to Blizzard. I'm not sure what's going on, but, I just see random, (screen shots?) pop up that I didn't take (and that are not saved) and I'm wondering, is this a normal game thing, or does the game send other info to Blizzard too?

Right before patch 2.0.12 hit during the 1.12 time, Blizzard was just getting hit with it's first million dedicated subscribers. During that specific time some individuals discovered how to mask or to clone the ftp protocol Blizzard uses when connection to their client. After 2.0, they introduced a sub mask routine to where they can send viable news bulletins as well as scan for any illegal programs you have open and running in your process' while wow is active. I.e.- Glider, Two-Box Reprise, and other misc programs. You will notice they send the scan results after your open your wow client when you see the "Authenticating Scan, Sending non-pertinent information to game server" during the connection phase. But no, Blizzard does not necessarily receive that information still as you are off their server. Although it is not impossible either, as the second line in your Realmlist is not just for the Launcher and patching but the open source for their FTP as well.

But then again this may just be speculation, as I've not had to worry about said programs or the hiding of such programs from Blizzard for many a year.
