Macabre Murders near Menethil

Earlier this week travelers traveling up the roads to Menethil Harbour have reported sightings of dismembered corpses. Most corpses were reported to be missing limbs and throughout further inspection concluded that the limbs were purposely removed with a blade. Blood elven corpses have been mysteriously found amongst the pile of corpses, along with humans baring the coat of arms of the Stormwind noble House Trevelyan. Denizens around the area speculate that this is the work of a "trophy collector" or a man-eater.

Ruins of Whitehaven Unreachable?

Traveling priests from the Church of the Holy Light have sent news that the Trevelyan owned settlement cannot be located. Investigators traveling to the settlement's location found themselves marching back towards the path they originally came from without encountering the Trevelyan settlement. Some conclude that the debris was cleared off, while others speculate this is some mysterious form of foul sorcery at play.

The Trevelyan court in Stormwind criticized those speculations as inaccurate and strongly defends the case that the fief still remains under House Trevelyan control and that no order was made to have the debris cleared out.

The Foundation of New Yarthren

Shortly after the collapse of Whitehaven, Lord Yarthren has took the initiative in taking the ruined settlement and rebuilding it into a more prosperous location, New Yarthren he named it. Due to this recent turn of events members of the House Trevelyan court consider this sudden decision to be an outrage and claim that House Yarthren stole land that were never meant to be theirs. Others argue that Lord Yarthren's ruling to be more efficient than Lord Trevelyan's. The debates between the two noble courts have yet to find a proper solution. More on this story as it develops.

Doomsayer meets his Doom!

This morning Stormwind woke to a shocking discovery. The doomsayers on the streets claim it was only the act of a man who wished to silence them from telling the world the truth, but whether or not these criers or apocalypse are truthful or deceitful, it has no difference to the event.

On the regular morning patrols, one of the guards encountered a hooded figure, collapsed against the passage-way between the Old Town and Canals district. Rushing to their aid, the guard soon found out that the man is not only dead, but skinned. From the command center we are told that there are several suspects, and evidence is being examined.

We are asking the locals to report with any information that might bring the culprits to justice. Be warned not to go against the culprits yourselves, for the command center warned that they may be armed and dangerous.

Kloffenstein Lodge Murder

Last week, a prominent member of the Kloffenstein Order. William Kloffenstein, who is directly related to Kaisen von Kloffenstein who is the 'Head Warden' of the Order was assassinated after leaving a meeting with his cousin. Kaisen spoke out about the tragedy last night around midnight in an event.

"It is a great tragedy to me and my family. One of the branches from the tree have been clipped by the killers who have been targetting me as well. Earlier today I have been targeted by an assassin with a pistol. Thankfully the fast reacting Stormwind Guard have taken him before he pulled the trigger. I am very afraid for my life currently. With this I will be out of the city for a week, to help cope with the tragedy which was happened last week. Rest in Peace William."

William was killed with a axe, butchered in front of the architectural landmark in Stormwind. The Man who put an attempt on Kaisen von Kloffenstein has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

The Fall of New Yarthren

Loud noises and an earthquake was felt coming from New Yarthren. The massive Keep which was delegated by Lord Julius Yarthren had "blown apart" earlier this afternoon. His whole garrison and all those within the building perished without a trace. The Lord Yarthren himself is reported to be amongst one of the many casualties.

During the explosion the peasants revolted and vengefully murdered Lord Yarthren's demoralized guards in front of the town gates. Speculation regarding this incident appears to be a doing orchestrated by Lord Reginald Trevelyan in order to reclaim his former fief.

Investigation into William Kloffenstein's Death Begins

It was a windy day in the city of Stormwind today, a little bit of rain and cloudiness. A group of Stormwind Investigators and a squadron of guards were around the Crime Scene of the grisly murder of William Kloffenstein, a family member of Kaisen von Kloffenstein who is now out of the city. Investigators claimed they have found a letter in William Kloffensteins jacket, it read...

William Kloffenstein Wrote:

None of the investigators have no clue what this means, many of the investigators speculate that the man was on the edge of insanity before the incident, some reports indicate that William was a mage and some of them think he took up Warlockry. This could be an Eredun message one of them thought, unlikely another one said.

They are trying to contact Kaisen von Kloffenstein for more information regarding the letter. They believe he may play a part in this, and maybe might have some information about the Murder than most of us think.

Report: Demons Harrass Ashenvale Locals

" Discussions are on the rise about the imminent danger for the Kaldorei lands of Ashenvale,
an uprising of demons migrating closer to the elven roads and their civilizations.

It was witnessed by several Outsiders that the supposed demons held responsible are fighting amongst
each other. One would find this behavior for these vile creatures questionable, and suspicions are beginning to circulate
throughout the lands of the Alliance.

The most recent action taken against the demon horde was the rescuing of six held
hostages with one known fatality. An older Kaldorei female had perished during the brutal exchange of blows
that took place while the protectors of the forest attempted to fend them off.

The investigation continues of this unfamiliar outbreak in hopes of learning
why the demons have turned upon one another in these already dangerous times."

Local papers in Goldshire and Northshire have shocked some of the inhabitants, though nowhere near the front page, the story warns travelers and merchants alike to always stay on your guard. Even within the seemingly peaceful forest, beasts and wildlife still roams freely.

The story describes a woman just in her twenties, wearing a mixture of torn brown and grey clothes to have been found dead, east of Goldshire, past the Crystal Lake on the edge of the road. Her wounds were many claw-like gashes on her arms, torso and waist and local authorities stated she has bled to death. The trail of blood led into the forest but due to heavy rainfall erased all trace where this young woman may have been coming from.

The killer is presumed to be a large wolf-like creature, possibly a Worgen but after a quick investigation, no direct evidence was found to support such claims. A citizen within the tavern recognized the woman to be a mage that frequented the Goldshire Tavern, and claimed that the woman was "suspicious and odd" after events that had turned the woman's tongue blue. The citizen went on to call her use of the Arcane to be both "reckless and inconsiderate", but all in all stated that "the woman had a good heart". The paper proceeds to warn travelers on the roads, and that people should not venture deep into the forest without proper preparations. The woman has been buried within the graveyard of the town, her stone left unnamed until identified from reports of the scene.

The King Defaced!

Citizens were in an outrage today as the banks and most shops refused to take their coin and reportedly threatened to call the guards if the citizens did not immediately. What could cause such an outrage? Why would cause banks and shops to refuse money? Defaced coins, according to shopkeepers and bank tellers.

“The coins are worthless,” said one teller at Stormwind's First Bank. “Once the king's face is defaced, they are worthless, and I can't take them. Not to mention that it's against the law to deface them in the first place.” He made it clear that he does not believe any of his usual customers would deface the coins, but he cannot take them for any reason, but repeated him when he said, “I cannot take the coins.”

Reports have cropped up of defaced coins ever since Varian Wrynn had the homeless in Stormwind moved out to Westfall, to the agitation of the farmers. Citizens are in an uproar, and are protesting outside Stormwind's First Bank.

“It's bull!” Cried one citizen who was somewhat calm enough for an interview. “What am I supposed to tell my family? That I can't buy food tonight because the butcher won't take my money?” The citizens are demanding a solution, and this reporter agrees with them.

What will the king do? What will the guard do?

Banditry On The Rise

Citizens of Goldshire and Eastvale report that the roads between the two are no longer safe, as neither civilian nor caravan are protected from the bandits within the forest. The reports, starting from last week, state that the bandits are coming from Southern Elwynn and north of Eastvale.

“Not your typical crimnal scum,” stated one guard who stuck around for a quick interview. “Armed, organized, deadly. Elwynn hasn't been this bad since the Defias Brotherhood was a thorn in Stormwind's side.” Many of the victims of these highwaymen agree, with them demanding an increased presence of the guard on the roads. “Would if we could. They are welcome to join the guard and help us.” The guard answered us when we asked. For now, he has warned citizens to only leave town in groups, and to keep a weapon on you.

The Dalaran Report
"Official Implicated in Black Market Fel Scandal"

By Vetia Duke
Dalaran - Not even Dalaran, which has earned its public face as a place of peace and normalcy, is free of the corruption that has wormed its way across Azeroth cities and towns.

Otto Krek, a Dalaran official in the Department of Relic Recovery, was arrested by members of the Silver Covenant on July 26 on charges of racketeering, sale of illegal substances & Fel Worship. After a tip from anonymous citizens, guards detained the mage and found on his possession vials of Fel blood and stolen relics from Underbelly black market merchants.

Krek made his fame in Dalaran with his public campaigns against Fel users and Demon study. For thirty years the sixty four year old mage strove to pass multiple legislations to strengthen the death penalty for Warlocks.

After his arrest, Dalaran investigators began searching the mage’s home. According to the official investigation report, a shrine dedicated to Fel worship and multiple tomes of warlockry were found in Krek’s apartment alongside a stash of illegally confiscated and stolen Fel & Necromantic artifacts.

Krek could not be reached for comment on these accusations.

Ripples have already begun to run through Dalaran after more evidence of Krek’s two-sides were unearthed.

“It’s a shame,” says Grim Grizzlefix, a Dalaran clerk who served for three years under Krek. “A shame and a sham. The guy makes us all look worse, just by association.”

The Kirin Tor is already preparing a trial for the aging criminal.

“The Kirin Tor are shocked and disappointed in what we have learned. Having someone in your organization that’s involved in such morally reprehensible research and actions is a terrible thing,” says a press release issued by the Kirin Tor. “We have acted swiftly and decisively to strip [Otto Krek] of his position and we will proceed soon with a more thorough investigation and trial.”

More information will be released after the trial is underway.

A Festival for Relief!

In the midst of the strife brought on by banditry, defaced coins, and war it is heartening to see the common people of the Alliance taking it upon themselves to bring relief, aid, and joy to the people.

At the end of this week, August the 2nd, a young Gilnean by the name of Roux Blackwood will be organizing and hosting a fair. Different breads from the cultures of the Alliance will be gathered and offered to sample and share. As well, expect a contest with prizes!

Miss Blackwood would also like the attendees to bring what extra goods they can spare for the plighted people of Westfall. A jar of oil, a basket of flour. After all, the Post asks, what is bread but the staple to share?

Assassination Attempt!

A region-wide manhunt has been called following an attack on a noble banquet, early sources reveal.

Statements from attendants within Lord Marrowmore's estate indicate the event was attacked by would-be assassins - apparently thwarted by the presence of House Thelwind's bodyguards. So far, nobody has been reported dead or severely injured.

Following the escape of two assailants, House Marrowmore's barracks was armed and deployed throughout the Eastern Elwynn Forest region, some reaching as far as the city of Goldshire.

The event was a meeting of many powerful individuals across the kingdoms of Stormwind, Gilneas and Stromgarde. Some of the houses attending included Silversaddle, Winters and Baerth. Predicted to be a calm event until the assault, it remains unknown how the assailants reached the banquet hall, along with any possible motives.

Lord Marrowmore was unavailable for comment, but his martial adviser overseeing the search, Nemus Crowne, told our reporter this:

'Lords and ladies of several different nations were targeted by grace-forsaken traitors - Light burn their eyes - targeted by traitors who dare insult the honourable human kingdoms, the Alliance, and all that they stand for.'

Additionally, attendant Tarson Jithes of the House of Nobles forwarded these words after a statement was requested.

'Rest assured that Stormwind's intelligence services are already well onto the case. We can predict that, following the capture of the ones behind this insane attack, all of Stormwind and beyond will sleep that much easier.'

A bounty of twenty gold coins for either of the escaped brigands has been found officially posted outside Goldshire, as well as the small towns Portley and Darrington within Marrowmore land.

Move him into the sun—
Gently its touch awoke him once,
At home, whispering of fields half-sown.
Always it woke him, even in France,
Until this morning and this snow.
If anything might rouse him now
The kind old sun will know.

Think how it wakes the seeds,—
Woke, once, the clays of a cold star.
Are limbs, so dear-achieved, are sides,
Full-nerved—still warm—too hard to stir?
Was it for this the clay grew tall?
—O what made fatuous sunbeams toil
To break earth’s sleep at all?
