Patching up...? Realmlist...?

Hey there, I'm really new to this server, and I'm having a slight problem. I've read a lot of the instructional threads on how to connect to the server, but the thing is, I'm not technically savvy at all. I've noticed that a lot of the threads will say "patch up to the current version" and yeah, that makes sense, but I have no idea how. What icon do I click on in the WoW folder? How do I make it stop at the right patch?

Also, in some threads it will say that I should open the realmlist file in notepad and change certain words in order to connect to the server, yet other threads will not even mention this and talk about downloading another realmlist file and renaming them. Do I do both? Which method is more effective?

Sorry, this is all new to me and it's just really confusing. But hopefully I'll learn fast, lol. Thanks!

Okay, I'll start with what I know, your Realmlist thingy. You can either do one of two things, either download the Realmlist from the site or just change your Realmlist which is already there. Personally I do the latter, I just open it up in Notepad and change what needs to be changed, it's a lot easier and takes a lot less time.

This is what mine says right now:

set realmlist coth.game-host.org
set patchlist coth.game-host.org
set realmlistbn ""
set portal us

If you set it to that, the only thing you'll ever need to change is the part which says 'set realmlist coth.game-host.org' seeing as we're kind of changing servers constantly at the moment.

Your patching thing, I'm not too sure but if you change your Realmlist to that with the 'set patchlist coth.game-host.org' you should be able to download the patches normally and get up to the current game version (Which is 3.2.2).
