I want to know if dragons can keep hoards of treasure, as in a really greedy rogue black dragon living in a cave somewhere. I want to know because some "Slay the Dragon" RP would be really cool.

Why would they? They are guardians of this world? They defend these artifacts FROM us. So we do not hurt ourselves.

It's not necessarily unheard of. Sapphiron guarded a hoard of treasure in Northrend in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne... before Arthas killed him and raised him as a frost wyrm, of course. So yes, I don't see why we couldn't have a "Slay the Dragon" roleplay.
