Quel'Dorei steed
#16
I support this idea. >_> But since I am already a Belfadin, I am already riding a unicorn. :D!

The Quel'Dorei never tortured the Blood Elves.
They simply differed in agreement and went their different ways...which included running eachother through with swords.

Based of of models, blood elf paladins still ride quel'dorei steeds, their summoned charger. There is really nothing that should keep a member of any race from riding another mounts aside from size (in the case of tauren and draenei who obviously need their huge mounts) and a reason. But it only makes sense that a blood elf would be able to use a mount that, assuming logic presides here, wouldn't have just vanished into thin air from silvermoon and the lands around it in which blood elves (Not high elves) still reside. There is no logical reason behind a blood elf not having a quel'dorei steed or any race not being able to ride a certain mount because of a game mechanic for that matter.

All I have to say is that keeping the Quel'Dorei in the name is horrible IC-ly

Well first of all, I just asked for the item..I don't care what it's called lol. But that is besides the point. It still remains that it is was originally a quel'dorei bred creature - though it would logically still be continued to be bred and used by sin'dorei. The Sin'dorei didn't change the name of the farstriders just because they became sin'dorei..they didn't change the name of the sunwell just because they became sin'dorei. They didn't change the name of The Magisters because they became sin'dorei. I highly doubt a high elf would have went up to a high elf breeder of these "Quel'dorei" steeds and been like "Greetings, I would like to purchase a Quel'Dorei steed."... He would go up and say "I would like to buy a steed" because they don't need to specify, since it's the mount common to them - not the horse that humans use and breed. Following with a similar example, a blood elf wouldn't go up to a blood elf breeder and say "I want to buy a sin'dorei steed" he would say "I want to buy a steed" and the breeder would sell him the steed. It's only outside races that might consider it a "Quel'dorei steed" because Quel'dorei are the originators of the breed of horse. Just as they are the (by closest decent of the highbourn), the ones who have Magisters, Farstriders, and creators of the sunwell. Hell, the High elves didn't even rename these factions to show difference between theirs and the sindorei...they still have magisters and farstriders.

So I have to respectfully disagree with you, Danalthar.

I do not want to get into the whole lore debate surrounding it, but add me to the interested crowd, this is my favorite mount in the game, maybe after the white riding talbuk, and I only play Horde on Officials so I never got to use it ;_;

And you have to apply the practical aspects. A unicron (wheee) is far more viable as a long-distance and short-sprint steed than a walking chicken. It is far more stable when riding (chickens bounce up and down, which makes it very difficult to engage in mounted combat) and far more credible lore-wise
