Welcome in the community?
#16
A lot of people said a lot of nice things for you! Before I read this thread, I didn't know almost anything about you, but now I see that you're a cool guy, otherwise no one would have said the stuff above. My hellos/byes/etc also get ignored quite often... don't sweat it, mate! We need nice guys like you! Every community does! :)

The people that we knew when we first started aren't going to necessarily be the ones that are around six months from now. As older members lose interest (or find new interests) and new people join, there will be a shift in the feel of the community and even our focuses and goals. This is natural; it's part of life!

I guess I really don't take the natural part of life that well then, probably never have now that I'm looking back at it. However, I do take the response to heart and will have something to think about for the next days/weeks/whenever. On some other note, this feeling may or may not have been strengthened by the recent Real Life issues going on, which I won't go into details about but should be solved soon enough.

Quote:My questions and helloes get ignored all the time. Doesn't upset me.
What doesn't upset you, obviously does upset someone else here. If it was for a week, no worries.. But two weeks really made me flip a coin and raise a "What's going on thought?", regardless, I'm glad to see I'm far from the only one. I am of the personal believe that at least greeting someone makes him/her feel welcome, nobody expects you to have a full conversation with that person, but the little things are what make a warm community.

Though, I do appreciate everyone's input here. I purposely haven't checked here in since I wrote it to let my mood settle down some more, focus on work and take this thread with a little bit more energy and stability within myself.

Quote:And that is the thing...

Even I have issues trying to get in the community. Though you think yours is obvious...Have you checked out mine?

Just shrug it off and get back to RP. :B It is what I do.
From my perspective, it was rather obvious but perhaps that only was in direction to myself. I wasn't actually aware that others may or may not face the same problems, which might have come over as rather selfish. For that, I apologise.

Quote:Let me tell you something that I have to tell myself every day, and sometimes I still don't believe it:

It's all inside your head, man.
I probably should say that to myself more, honestly.

Thanks guys, really. I needed this, now I can continue to slap myself in the face due to this thread, get AM180's saying tattooed on my arm and look at it whenever feeling lonely or actually down. I guess the sheep comparison was a rather right one, their fine when nothing changes and the grass grows, if the weather turns they start "Mee'ing" all about the place. (Ironically, in Chinese star signs I am a metal sheep and apparently the most over-emotional and feminine of all the star signs..)

Consider the question answered, GM's can move/delete this thread as I doubt it's of any real relevance to the entire server, so locking it would just spam the search function. I've copied the responses down, whenever I feel stupid I'll just look on the note file.

Thanks again, to the players as much as to the GMs keeping it open for me. I -really- appreciate it.

We will search again for that light.
Hold it close, between our arms,
Listen again, to the priestess her charms.

Yeah. it's hard to feel welcome, to any community. But then again I play very little compared to most here. It's not that I dont want to, just not enough time. I suppose it's the biggest issue is when you do try to be part of things, you fail miserably. At least that's what happened to me. It's not a big deal really when you think about it.

I assume it's due to the number of people on the server when I'm on. Usually around 8 isnt that much, and when they're hard to find places... Ie: Stormwind city, or Outlands or somewhere in Northrend. I cant very well walk there with a level 50 horde.

What I do is, check the site map where people are. Go hang with my character there, make some emotes. Usually someone will approach and much hilarity will ensue from conversations, fights and etc. Granted story related stuff might be more fun, but.. Maybe something will happen, maybe one of the random encouters wiill inspire me to run something. Maybe nothing happens.

It all comes down to a simplisttic selfish idea that we should, in my opnion ahear to:

As long as I'm having fun I'll be playing, and dont try to ruin others fun.
If it's not fun for you, do something else for a while. Come back another day.

Sidenote:
Not sure what it means but, my chinese starsigns paint me as a fire-rat.
Lower the flags, a good man has passed.
He has reached the last of frontiers.
Lower the flags, down to half-mast.
For again the world has taken a turn for the worse.
