What kind of guild?
#16
Here's a guild concept me and a couple of friends were thinking about, we decided to go with another guild but this is still pretty interesting. If anyone would like to use it, feel free to take advantage of it or any other version you come up with.

Quote:Guild Name: <False Face Society>
[FFS]

Guild Leader: At the very start of the guild there will be no defined leader, we hope to grow organically and let a leader eventually be defined from the relations that form between our characters.

Guild Description: All cities have a dark underbelly and in Dalaran it is darker than most. With the widespread use of the arcane it didn't take long until secret societies and even cults affiliating with demons and the fel popped up, the False Face Society is not your typical mage gathering however, it did in fact not even surface until very recently and that not anywhere close to Dalaran.

But Dalaran did play it's part in forming the Society, it was, until the actions of the Legion and Scourge drove them away, the home of the family placeholder. The placeholder were, or are, a proud family, having ties stretching back to old Arathor and the empire, it was not, however, a very rich family. It never had been, but things had started to change and a fortune was being amassed that could support even the lesser branches of their family tree. Nefistra, back then the head of the family, had decided that it be better to appear noble and rich than be noble but poor. Thus the first investments were made and the family found itself their own dark underbelly to hide.

Gambling dens and fighting pits were formed, soon gold and silver came rolling back and it seemed success was certain and with it came arrogance, something any noble magocrat already possess in abundance. As business proceeded the family started to delve into darker arts in the name of profit and noble greed, not much is known of these things but rumours abound of demons, illegal enchantment, dark concoctions and weapons in various forms of involvement.

It all came to brutal and bloody end with Dalaran's defeat at the hands of the death knight, Arthas, and the demon lord Archimonde. With the destruction of their city and the assumed death of most of the family the placeholder split up, each surviving member finding their own way to survive the plague ravaged lands in the aftermath of the war.

But that was not the end.

In what seems a twist of fate a family reunion took place in the taverns and alleys of Booty Bay, as the smiles faded with reminiscence of olden times they couldn't but agree that they had been cursed with ill-luck in the past. A pact was made then and there, in the gutters of the goblin port, that it would not be allowed to hold them down, that they would take their rightful place at the table of the high born no matter what sacrifices would be forced upon them - thus the False Face Society was born.
All makt åt Tengil, vår befriare!

A) I'm touched.
B) It's already in progress. It really depends on what people actually do post-restart.
Wow. Sometimes I forget the past.

I this idea. Quite alot. If anyone is deciding to pick this up post restart, I'd quite like to help! Because I'm naturally averted to guild leadership/formation.

As for my opinion, something like a mercenary group, orc clan, or any of that other usual type of thing, is something I'd like to see less of. They're just...so...common. Being pretty conformist myself, that might seem a bit ironic. What I'd like to see is something that I couldn't tell you. An idea that isn't obvious. Those are the guilds that tend to create the best, most interesting RP. Mainly, I think, because you don't know what to expect. FFS is a great example (The guild idea directly above me).

And junk.

I actually plan on making a guild of Deathstalkers, who during the Battle of the Undercity had aligned with Sylvannas.

So, they'll be completely loyal to the Dark Lady. I'll also be allowing classes other than rogues into this guild.
Pain is an illusion.

I wanted to make a guild of Con Men, Cheats and Fast Talking rip off artists. They go around the world, to cities, towns and what not doing what they do best...scamming.

I also wanted to give the guild an actual business used as a cover and a place to sell things they no doubt stole off other people (ideas turned to profit and what not).

Errmm..

A brotherhood of knights of some sort.
A mercenary / bounty hunter gang.
And a dark, evil cult religion thing boom bang.

That'd be nice.
Mmh.

I'm hoping that the Sandaxe Company that I just started recently will become bigger, maybe evolve into a Cartel, we shall see.

I'm just getting a feel for how things would work so when I get grunt, I will know what to do.
