Blood Elf Age.

That's not quite accurate, Hobokitty. The staff will not accept profiles under the minimum ages, regardless of how well written it is, how logical it is, or how it may align with lore. This is our policy.

We realize that certain races reach physical maturity fairly early despite the age constraints (as I have pointed out in the past, Shandris Feathermoon participated in the War of the Ancients at the age of sixteen as a physical adult, even though we require kal'dorei to be at least 300 in order to be played), but the guidelines are in place and should be followed.

As an aside, I'd like to note that World of Warcraft: The Roleplaying Game makes the same requirements of players and I've always wondered if we drew upon that idea when the system was put in place or if we just happened to operate on the same wavelength. It's a coinky-dink!

Hobokitty Wrote:The only thing that dissapoints me about Sin'dorei age is that "110" is considered an adult. What, do they spend 10 years of their lives in diapers? I've also read that Blood Elves mature at the same rate as humans (ie: they grow to the size of an adult in about 16 - 20 years) but enjoy the long lifespan.

As long as you write something that seems solid and doesn't specifically disagree with lore, I guess it would pass as acceptable.

They actually mature a bit slower physically. Their minds however, have to register an impressively higher amount of wisdom and knowledge before they can be considered mature.

it's like us. We could give majority to a 12/14 years old kid (they can procreate, at least most) and they would yet be so weak in society, due to their lack of training, experience, and knowledge, and the mistakes they'd do from it.

So a Sin'dorei grows into an adult within the 20 - 30 year timespan and then has to spend a further 70-90 years learning? That I can accept quite happily.

The rules and standard regarding them are quite a bit different to what I am used to (well, at least compared to the Guilds on RP servers on Live/Retail that I have applied for in the past) but still quite lenient. Gonna have to peek at some existing approved characters and get a feel for what's accepted it seems =) No problem.

I beleive the only race that doesn't mature to what would technically, if not socially, be classed as adulthood within 20-30 years are Draenei, who are children for at least 100 or so years at least. But in a society of people who live that long, technical adulthood, as in, coming of age as an adult, would be about right as the age guidelines are, in my opinion :)

You'll want to check out the Blood Elf category on the wiki for profiles approved post-restart and, to a lesser extent, the archival category for blood elf profiles approved prior to the restart. That should give you a nice large number of profiles to review.

Please note, however, that just because a profile has been approved in the past doesn't mean that the exact same details will be approved now! Certain standards may have changed over the past year or two, or we may be less lenient in certain details.
