Heir to the Cosmos: The Novalight Dynasty
#46
Somewhere in Eversong

“...I am dying...”

The black of the room obscured any true chance of finding detail in the aging elf’s face. His skin was taut, pale. Green eyes were the only illumination, casting shadows across his face as fel twisted and broiled within. A dry tongue licked dryer lips. They smack together as a he takes a shallow breath; It is the sound of sand, trickling through an hourglass. Hoarse, harsh, inevitable.

He sits on a bench, as black as the lightless air around him, elbows pressed against his legs. Despite his complexion, muscles ripple beneath a baggy prison uniform. There is only time for self improvement in the dank cell. No books, no paper. Only a body and a mind. A hand raises to pull a flake of skin from beneath his eye, letting it fall to the ground. He blinks, eyes straining as the figure outside his door shifts. The light is visible as it moves into the cell, cutting a swath through the darkness. It is a spotlight into hell, illuminating now the features of the elf within.

Renorien stands, pressing his hands to the door. He leans, as to get a better look out of the slot, his only contact with the outside world, “And... I am counting on -you- to make sure I don’t. I need... Out.”

The elf leans forward to make eye contact with the man in the cell. He frowns, speaking low, “I will do what I can.” He nods, “So much in the family is changing. Our allies are swaying to the new regime. "

Reno only has enough space in the slot to let one eye shine through, the green eye carefully observing the man in front of him, “And you... How are you? All is well, my son?” His eyes shift, looking at a guard that walks past in the corridor behind him.

The younger man shakes his head, “I’ve been managing, but mother has seen better days.”

The green glow behind the cell door’s slot vanished for a moment, as it’s occupant grates something against the wall. The eye returns, “Has she..? If it’s life threatening... Take funds from my account, and see to her.”

“She’ll be alright. I’ve been looking over her healing myself.”

Renorien runs a hand through shaggy black hair, unkempt and wild, “Good boy... Family is all we have. Remember that...” He sighs, “...Our disputes within bring me no joy.”

His son nods, “Yes father... It’s a shame you’re in here. It’s a shame you aren’t Nova like grandfather wanted.”

Clearing his throat, Reno turns his head away from the door. It turns into a cough after several moments, before his gaze returns to Sayla, “Fate is a fickle thing... My chance has come and gone however. You, though...” His fingers clasp at the slot, sitcking through. His eye barely manages to see through now, “You will make a superb Nova, my young Sayla.”

“I’d try my best to honour your name father.”

“Of course you will my son. Of course you will...” Reno stands, green eyes pulling away. The steps carry him toward the back of the cell, finding himself back in his former seat. His voice takes a slight echo this far into the cell.

Sayla nods, “Is there anything you want me to do? Someone to talk to?” He looks into the room through the slot.

Renorien rubs his throat, chin lifting as he tilts his head, “Mmm... No, not at the moment. The plan will continue however. Three days time, I think it is...” He looks at the faint scratches on his wall, marking each day he has been confined to the cell, nodding to himself in affirmation.

Sayla nods, “Until?”

“Until someone contacts you... Find your way to my old home in Eversong, Sayla. You will find him in the courtyard.”

He shifts before the door, “Yes sir. As you say.”

Renorien returns to setting his elbows on his legs, staring out of the slot before him, “Then we shall meet again soon. Outside of these prison walls...”

“I will return to the city, and await your messenger.” He turns, heading for the exit of the prison. His father nods, the gesture lost behind the massive steel doors.
"Every gun..."

Zariel lays in the elvish couch, beside him an end table with a smoking device resting on the surface. His therapist sitting beside the young elf's head calmly in a chair, writing something down on a sheet of parchment. Lace curtains cover the doorway as the room appears to be modeled in sophisticated elven design. The elf's auburn hair shimmers in the arcane light illuminating the room, idle trails of smoke leaking from his mouth as he exhales. He lays comfortably in a shirt, tie and business slacks. "So How have you been, Zariel?" The older elf asks, sitting beside him. "I hear things are improving for the family. That's always good to hear." The arcane light shining against the bookcases on either side as the young elf reponds. "Bad...and wonderful." The old elf surveys Zariel for sarcasm he furrows his brow as he doesn't find any. "What do you mean, Young Nova?" He adjusts his glasses by raising the bridge with his finger, green light flowing through the lenses.

"Well..." Zariel shakes his head, he takes another smoke. "My father was attacked by a construct in the image of my brother. The creator is the brother of the one who trains me. My family wants him dead and my teacher obviously doesn't. Its a bothersome conflict, also have to deal with Elihanara Seregon who I still don't trust or like. But due to politics, I must." He exhales as smoke flows out of his mouth, the therapist nods watching the elf reclining and speaking. He frowns at the mention of the name 'Seregon' and waits for Zariel to continue. "Also...Having to deal with paper work of opening a business is frustrating. Oh! And now I have to figure out how were going to fund another induction ceremony. Tch! I have to help lead with my siblings and two have never been Nova before. Its going to be crazy, I'll have my hands full in the future." He says sighing calmly. He continues smoking he doesn't appear angry. The old elf blinks slowly finding this suspicious. "And?" Zariel smiles. "And it's alright... Because...I'm not alone this time." His smile grows. "I have my family back....Its all I've -ever- wanted. I love them so much." He continues smoking smiling with his eyes closed. One clear bead of water rolls from each eye down to his chin. The old elf smiles surprised to see the once bitter elf twisted by revenge touched by the warmth of love. "My father and mother have returned, and... All my siblings have been appointed to rule as Nova in their own right. I've been caught up in so much fighting, so much chaos that I never got to stop and realize how important everyone was. I can't really tell them how I feel but...I've been so happy. Even Alteryia has been showing more signs of caring about us." The old elf seems to be smiling widely himself naturally just by being in Zariel's presence. "I know of your siblings but never have heard you speak about them. Tell me more."

"Alright."

Xanthe Novalight: The Butterfly Nova

Xanthe and I are very close, because being the youngest we had to look out for ourselves. We get crap because we're 'spoiled' but we still look out for ourselves just fine. Well I do.....Well I try! Xanthe has the ability to walk into a room and make friends with -anyone-, perhaps it is a good thing she's the public Nova. There are problems to being a social butterfly though, especially dealing with different circles. A lot of people like to adhere to old traditions, something my baby sister is not about. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I admire her ability to just be herself, something I just can't do all the time. I used to talk to Tulip about that, just wanting to be myself instead of a title. Maybe with my siblings around I'll be able to do that. Xanthe also is against killing, which makes sense because you -should- be against killing. Lets be honest though, our family is pretty frequent in the business of death. Its good that the public head would never want to kill anyone though, because if she gets blood on her hands its bad for business.

Its frustrating because sometimes I think she isn't taking this serious, that she doesn't care. She doesn't even appear to be paying attention sometimes, and I get mad at her for it. Its heart breaking to see her cry, but I'd rather be the one to toughen her up then someone else. I thought I saw Alteryia die....I....I'm just glad she's back. Xanthe is special because there's no one in the family like her. They say I act like dad sometimes, Thalion -looks- like Dad but acts kind of like mom. Alteryia looks just like Mom but acts kind of like dad too. Xanthe is her own and wonderful to be around, I just hope politics doesn't take her taint. I hope no one aims for her in the business, members of our family or otherwise. Thalion will protect her though, and I know I will. They're all I got. Xanthe and I will be working on the Four Suns project. We will be trying to help our reputation that I tarnished by opening up a few businesses over Azeroth starting in Silvermoon if they take off. Since I'm in charge of finance and Xanthe in charge of public relations we'll be seeing a lot of each other which is fine with me. Singerius Highstride returned and told us of some unfortunate dealings with Elihanara's cousin Daze Seregon. Despite them he said he'd help us, and Xanthe improve. Even Reigen seems to be coming out of her slump which makes me even happier. She's finally going to follow her dream despite all she's been through. I'm going to see to it she succeeds.

Even though me and Xanthe had an argument we'll be okay, because I've been keeping a close eye on her and I've noticed somethings that let me know we're going to be alright. Sometimes Xanthe can seem a little....out there. But she's talented, -very- talented. Her tracking and skills as a huntress are very good. Oh! She did take after someone, Father. He was a Farstrider, she isn't but she has impressive huntress talents. I guess I take after mom, being a magi. I think Xanthe is like a Butterfly, beautiful, graceful and innocent; I just think she has yet to leave her cocoon. I am anxious for the day were she leaves us in awe.

Out in the fields of Eversong a young magi walks through the patchy shadows provided by the leaves above. The dragonhawks glide through the air like kites as the choir of birds sin.g to the eternal sun. Zariel was headed to his newest business project, The Four Suns Inn. The inn was named the Four Suns after he and his three siblings were promoted to Nova. Each Nova overseeing a jurisdiction of Leadership. Xanthe was in charge of public affairs, image and reputation. Zariel was in charge of finances, business operations, philanthropy and profitable transactions, Thalion oversaw everything that needed to remain in the shadows; assassinations, drugs, murder or anything else that would tarnish the image of the family. Alteryia was in charge of armaments, defenses and the military strategy and organization of the family. Together they were pretty formidable and this invigorated Zariel. He had a time where he was cold, filled with vengeance and hate but only due to his loneliness. Years later he had developed more confidence, and friends who believed in him.

The Four Suns Inn's grand opening was a success and a head into the right direction. The lounge was filled with aristocrats, politicians, commoners, and scholars a like. They shared laughs, stories and names over fine wine and authentic food. Reigen Dawnsend was preparing to follow her dream once more, to be a magistrix. Finally her long friendship with the Novalights were paying off, as there were many there to network with. The lights were dim and a thin haze of smoke filled the air as everyone's comforts were met. The Inn was furnished well taking no cuts in expense, with waiters and waitresses dressed neatly attended to costumers. Enchanted instruments in the corner play subtle notes weaving between the meshed voices of mixed conversations. The auburn had stopped for a second smiling to the patrons, as the harp slowly plucked itself in the corner.

"Who's that?"

Zariel Amaru Novalight: The Phoenix Nova

The young elf has been through a lot and now has been reborn with the return of his siblings. He's been accused of having a relationship with a human, treason, murder, and three counts of assault but has managed to remain free even opening a new Inn with his siblings. During his term as a Nova he was perceived as well wishing, nice yet inadequate. He lacked the confidence of his father and leadership skills. Since this time he has had his life on the line many times, traveled the world and trained with his adviser, Reigen Dawnsend. He finally completed his first step towards learning a new spell. During his travels he learned to cast under duress which led him to use mana efficiently. Zariel had become concerned for Reigen because of the issue with her brother. Sanguis had went against his word and one of his constructs attacked Jidaeo at the estate. The construct was in the image of his brother Thalion.

A construct of Elihanara attacked Zariel and Annabelle presumably for a sample of his blood. Sanguis was getting out of hand and was elusive as ever. A construct of Annabelle Greene was noted to have fled to Ironforge after the deaths of three members of the Cosmos Cult. Diel'vani, Annabelle and Zariel discussed the possibilities and the numerous problems they already faced. He agreed to send members of his court to observe the construct while Annabelle tended to other matters. Sanguis had avoided all save for Diel'vani Novalight. Before telling his own members he met with Reigen outside of Azshara and told her he wished to return the favor. Long ago Reigen made a choice to try to change Jidaeo, instead of kill him like Zariel wanted. Diel'vani told Reigen two locations that Sanguis was located. He gave her the option on how to handle it, but advised her to move quickly as others would find out soon.

Spoiler:

From the ashes of Zariel's doubt and failures he felt cleansed, with an ambition burning like a sun. An old friend of the family had returned, and at first wished to remain neutral be decided to help upon Zariel's request. Singerius Highstride, a friend of Jidaeo's who worked in both councils he helped change the entire image of the family. He had been missing since the day before the banquet massacre and was labatomized by Dazennar Seregon. Daze's actions were his own and were found out by one of the Seregon operatives who reported it to Lady Elihanara. The Seregon family entered The Four Suns Inn to discuss the two traitors from their house. As others mingled sharing drinks, laughter and words the Thalion and Zariel headed upstairs with Elrohir to discuss in private their dealings with The House of Silverfang, Sanguis Sunfire, and Dazennar Seregon. They will work together in finding Sanguis, yet Elrohir insists his family will take care of Dazennar. Zariel sits smugly in his chair as they leave, he lights a cigar listening to the idle music of the instruments. The wings of the Phoenix blaze anew.

Sanguis has had many try to foil his experiments. Many sent in white cloaks wander to close to the pit of the serpent and end up chained, and drowned. Some tortured and others made into the constructs they wished to stop. Sanguis had started out in modest science, however once he stumbled across the Novalight research he felt compelled, he even rushed the process by mixing the research in what has been dubbed the 'Skin Thieves' incident. Sanguis began to lay low after his warning from his half sister Reigen. Things began to swell into more problems but he was so close to completing his goal. To bring his father back. He was very close, indeed. His actions have rippled a chain of events that will keep things in motion even long after his capture.

Thalion Novalight, the eldest of the siblings trailed Zariel to an abandoned church in Tirisfal where he just by chance met the mimic of his adviser Reigen Dawnsend. With Thalion the three discussed the morals of the experiment, and its effect on the constructs. They suffered being in between life and death, reality and fiction. They had no place, and it ached within some of them. Zariel however saw their exsistance having a practical function, whether it be to help those cope with lost ones who could no longer be resurrected or serve as someone who needs to be somewhere the living can't be. Thalion and the construct of Reigen agreed all the research had to be destroyed and Sanguis Sunfire killed. Sanguis was the architect behind The Sholazar Massacre, and the death of Agorine Novalight amongst countless others. Zariel wished to end his life personally but out of Respect for Reigen he awaited her interaction. However time was running out, and the Novalights were becoming impatient, specifically one of the Elders of the family; Jidaeo Novalight.

He was also tracking Reigen, when he took over his father's research he wished to manufacture a perfect soldier, obedient and deadly. He decided to make one in the image of one of the most ferocious killers he had the pleasure to work with. Reigen. Since Sanguis had created one he wished to take it for himself and re-inscribe command into it. The construct had escaped until he found it once more with his son Thalion. Zariel had left just previously due to a heated argument that he, Thalion and Reigen's mimic got into over the morality of the project. Zariel still believed in its usefulness and wished to keep the information for future reference.

Jidaeo had the construct imapled to the ground with his sword. He was prepared to take the construct in as it pleaded for freedom. Thalion struck his father, to send the construct free. Jidaeo surprised fought a battle on two fronts succesfully until the construct slipped away for good. He sheathed his sword watching the construct run away. "....Don't return to the estate." He said grimly, as Thalion sighed. "Guess this is it then.." He said as he ran off. The hunt for Thalion Novalight had begun....

The Novalight Dynasty: The Rise of the Four Suns

The Grand Fissure

To attack a seated member in the family, is a taboo, one mostly punished by imprisonment or Death depending on severity. The Four Nova and members of the Elder Council are off limits unless unjustly provoked. This has been the way of the family since conception and the way of any organization; Protect the leaders. Thalion's travels lead him to Winterspring, where he stumbled across Annabelle Greene and his younger brother Zariel Novalight. The two discussed their differences and acknowledged their differing opinions. Their journey took them to Nagrand to look at ruins in the area to open a business. Xanthe joined them as well, the four were bonding until Jidaeo showed up shortly before their cousin Kyresa Novalight.

The situation eventually lead into a split, over the apprehension of Thalion Novalight. On one side stood Thalion Novalight, his youngest sibling Xanthe Novalight and to Zariel's disappointment; Annabelle Greene. On the other side stood Kyresa Novalight, The Elder council seat member Jidaeo Novalight and Thalion's own brother Zariel. The battle was quite long and intense due to the circumstances, no one wanted to really harm the other but due to the conviction of their belief they pressed on. Annabelle remained only as support to Thalion's side, not attacking but healing. Zariel openly attacked his brother still holding resentment about their conversation about Alteryia. Xanthe managed to break free from Kyresa's hold and ran after her father tackling the elf to the ground. Thalion took this moment to flee, jumping off the island towards the evils surrounding Oshu'gun below.

Zariel angered but still not wanting to see his brother die, ran off behind him jumping off as well as if in pursuit. He and his brother landed on Kyresa's wyveryn and glided away. They regrouped in Shattrath and decided on a plan. Thalion was to stay low key at Kyresa's house while Novalight agents would no doubt be looking for him. Zariel decided to head to Northrend to seek council from the King of the Sage Court and his Grand Uncle; Diel'vani Novalight. Their plan now was to end Sanguis and his constructs on their own to solve this divide. Time was running short and patience wearing thin.

-Over Seven Hundred years ago

A female Quel'dorei held her new born baby, as one single strand of black hair fell from its bald head down it's face. The crying baby swats at it, as the two loving parents watch from above. "Our first child. I can't believe it, he's finally here." The blonde elf says, as she stands beside the golden crib. Her hands delicately on the sides. The father watches as well, a smile cemented on his lips. He brushes hair from his face with his thumb looking down to the baby. "My son." He smiles softly. "I pray you never hold the burdens I have, if we are fortunate to have other children, you must look after them. You must lead them down the right path, away from darkness. If it is unavoidable you must wade in the shadow for them. You must be their shield, their weapon and protect them even against me." The elf says seriously looking to the child, unaware of the words. Cerice looks to her husband concerned, but doesn't say anything as he continues. "Our family isn't the nicest family, but we love each other in our own way. But I love you, and your mother very much. We have this estate all to ourselves, and our family that will grow. They won't understand why you do what you have to. But..." Jidaeo places his head on the edge of the crib, dark hair falling down just above the baby. He stops crying and attempts to reach for the ponytail swaying above him. The baby begins to giggle causing Cerice to smile, but she looks to Jidaeo. "Please...protect them. If something happens to me, your mother or our family....I...I need you to be the strongest....Forgive me for placing this burden on you."

The Novalight Dynasty: The Rise of the Four Suns

Thalion Novalight: The Goliath Nova

As the baby grew he began to look more and more like his father. Something Jidaeo was always proud of, even his wife Cerice was happy to see the resemblance, but she never forgot the speech her husband gave their child. It felt as if he cursed the boy to carry the burdens of their family. She didn't speak about it but she never forgot it, over the years Thalion grew to the point he and Jidaeo were often mistaken for each other. The two were close and worry only struck Cerice after the birth of her next child, Alteryia Novalight. Thalion without word from his father was protective of Alteryia as a child, and even more so of his baby brother Zariel when he was born a century or so after Alteryia. By the time Zariel was an adult Thalion had already been doing his own thing. He often times was away from the family, which concerned Cerice and Jidaeo.

More centuries passed, and the world was what it had become. The Lich King had spread war, the family had been afflicted heavily and the Novalights had become a blood thirsty machine which profited off of death, drugs and manipulation of the law. Alteryia had been presumed dead, and young Zariel had lost his mind after he lost his sister. Xanthe was to be protected and sheltered from the violence and their protector was no where to be found. Cerice and Jidaeo had been afflicted with the curse of the Lich King and could no longer show their children the love and compassion they held so long ago. Thalion had returned eventually as his own lifestyle of murder and gold caught up with him. He yearned to protect his family and returned to find them in disarray. With the suggestion of his younger sister he became one of the Four Nova to help turn the family around and lead them onto the right path. He had waded in the shadows for too long, but would do so again to keep his family out of the dark flames. He began having conflicts with his younger brother, who gave him a hard time due to his past trade being a whisper blade assassin.

Through the issues with Sanguis and patching up the war with the Seregon, Thalion tried his best to fit in and lead his siblings. They were reluctant to open up to him since he was gone for most of their lives, save for Xanthe who met her eldest brother for the first time when he returned. Thalion's job was thankless and often times forgotten, and with the family after his head it was assumed it would be forgotten forever. However Xanthe negotiated with her father an alternative to Thalion's sentence. The elder council already agreed changing leaders so soon would be bad for business, Thalion would be apprehended if the head of Sanguis Sunfire was acquired and brought to the council for his crimes. In spite of the hardships he faced, he still wore a smile and kept his head up. The duty of the eldest sibling weighed on him, but he had the strength of a Goliath.

Quote:Two young elves run through the fields of Eversong years ago. The air filled with the scent of burning flesh and the sounds of thousands of agonizing screams. The scourge was headed to Silvermoon, lead by the Prince of Lordaeron. The elves dart between the trees, shadows to animals fleeing in the opposite direction. The smashing of trees falling, and the sound of their advancement. "We have to turn around!" The male elf called. The female elf darted a littler further and crouched behind a tree. "I'm going to look for him..." she replied peering into the slaughter before her. Her ears lowered after a while. "He's not here." She slowly rose, and jumped off. "Zariel...Turn around. You're going to get us ca-" She was interupted by her own scream. A slash to her back sent her blood jumping behind her. She stumbled forward and collapsed on the ground. Behind her stood a skeleton finishing the arc of a sword swing. His hollow head staring into Zariel, he was in a surreal Nightmare, he began blinking. As the skeleton walked over her and towards him.

Behind the lumbering figure the wounded female elf staggers to her feet. A mini explosion occurs on the back of the skeleton. It's bones spread to pieces flying past Zariel. "Run! Zariel. They probably heard that!" The female says, her palms aimed towards the grass where the skeleton once stood. The groans of the ghouls started to flow to their ears. She turned around exhaling. "Zariel. Go....Now!" She ran off. (Excerpt from Act II).

Alteryia Blightblood: The Hollow Nova

Before she died she found her true love, the two had wed unbeknownst to her family. She died unfortunately shortly after. Alteryia was always praised for looking just like her mother, stunning and beautiful blonde hair. Although she was definitely her father's daughter. Just as Thalion favored his father he was similar to Cerice in personality. She was ressurected cursed with the plague of the Lich King. Like many in her family, her father, mother, and aunt to name a few. Some believed it was due to Jidaeo's father breaking the taboo. The family was cursed now, this was their punishment. Alteryia didn't believe such nonsense, this was the way the world worked.

At first she wanted little to do with her family, she returned years ago speaking with her father and youngest brother Zariel. She was aware how her loss effected him but she denied the emotion to show him she cared. Over the years the brainwashing of the family began to surface in her psyche....or perhaps she started to care for her family, remembering who she was. No one knew for certain but she returned and fought for the family with unwavering tenacity. It was Alteryia who met her father and came up with her own plan to save Zariel. She trained under her great aunt Agorine and planned to kill her, herself if she made another move against Zariel. She wished to gain her trust to be elected Nova. She would hold the seat until Zariel was fit to lead once more. Nothing ever goes as planned however, Agorine was murdered by Sanguis Sunfire.

Alteryia also came up with the idea to keep the siblings together, to break another taboo and have four leaders, four Novas to make sure the family stayed on the right path. The checks and balances of either would help make sure no one deviated too far. A shame that who Alteryia was may never resurface, leaving her with a hollow shell of who she once was. She makes the best of it and protects her siblings ferociously...

A rat skitters from the shadows of the stone corridors, thick cob webs reach between the arched passageways in an intricate design. Six inches of water lining the bottom of the cavern causing the splashing of idle creatures in the water echoing over the moans of wounded slaves. It had been over a month now, the once clean cut elf was now ragged in a cell because of his back talk. He was tricked by a forsaken in the Barrens. He was on his way to make his first move to helping his father when he was captured. He was now a slave, but wouldn't see an auction plate due to his attitude. His dirty blonde hair layered with real dirt clung to his face. He was alone, no one would be coming for him. No one would be coming for his father. "I failed you sir...I am so sorry."

The Novalight Dynasty: The Rise of the Four Suns

Trickling Corruption

The cell was littered with bones and corpses of old slaves, insects had their way with the rotting flesh. Sayla'veli Novalight kept his eyes focused on the corridor that seemed to be endless from his place in the cell. He needed a way out of the bars, passed the over-seers and a way over the shark infested waters. His situation truly was hopless and he began to think he would rot in the cell forever. He ate what they gave him although it tasted awful compared to what he was accustomed to, he worried about out living his captors. Would they leave him in there?

Sayla'veli was born during the time his grandfather was Nova. His grandfather had been following in the footsteps of his sister, Agorine Novalight. Sayla and Renorien both admired him and tried to appease him, although they both were aware of his interest in Jidaeo and his two children at the time; Thalion and Alteryia. He saw how it angered and shamed his father but his father still held his pride and still proved to be quite the force. Sayla respected his father with everything he was, and vowed to bring honor to such an elf.

A year ago, while Zariel was away during his term, Renorien Novalight was arrested for Trafficking Demon Blood, Extortion, aggravated assault and racketeering. Because of this the family tried to dismiss this negative publicity and kept their focus on positive ventures. Renorien and Sayla'veli felt neglected; betrayed. Still Renorien encouraged Sayla to take his shot at becoming the Nova, a dream Renorien wanted for himself. During this time and up until Agorine became Interim-Nova she had been working with Renorien's son. Shaping him into the 'perfect Novalight candidate' she called it. Her death came as a shock to Sayla, since she was one of the members who really acknowledged his father's talents and she was on the elder council.

With his father in jail, his elder support dead and himself a slave trapped all was lost. Until a flickering light danced on the metal bars in front of him. He looked down the hall blinking in surprise, a green sphere burning in lime fire was hovering down the path. He shook his head in disbelief until he saw the large red cat like iris staring him in the face. The two stared at each other silently. Instinctively he spoke to it. "Help me." The eye disappeared.

-Many Millenia ago-

The snow crunched under their steps, they ran quickly in vain. Their blood trail was to obvious and neither had the means to cover their tracks. A child with a puppy could find them now, let alone three rangers. Arrows soared into the air stopping in front of them both. The snow crunched at the impact as the two Quel'dorei bled out into the snow. A male with dark hair and a female with blonde. She was in worse condition huffing thin puffs of condensed carbon-dioxide to stay alive.

The elf turned around, black hair dripping in front of his blue eyes. The elves were quickly approaching. "Railynn. Can you hear me? You need to get out of here sweet heart." He shakes his head. "I'm sorry I gave birth to you in this world, although I never -ever- regret you my child" he says slowly chattering his teeth in the cold, he crawls over to her in the snow. "This world is very dark....Very cold even with the eternal sun. It...seems that our longevity has only given us a larger threshold for pain. The ability to see torment to lengths that no soul should see." He looks up seeing hawkstriders approaching. He looks to his daughter, she's still and skin cold. His lip quivers as he muffles a groan then weeps.

He slowly begins crawling to the bushes, dripping blood as snow flutters down aimlessly. The three rangers nonchalantly approach the two dying elves, their stoic expressions reveal their concern. "There you are..." A red haired elf says raising his chin. The dark haired elf continues talking to his daughter. "But I'm fortunate....all is not lost. I...I'm far from a good person, and neither is your mother. But we made you...You're my hope...My wil-" An arrow sinks into his leg as the other elves laugh. He calls out to the sky, barely holding onto his life. Everything flashing before his eyes and going dark. He collapses, still breathing shakily finally numbing to the cold.

"What's the point!? Why live if we're just going to die in war? And if war is the only answer why live? Why the torment? The hatred? I know I'm not perfect but its as if you don't want to make things better. Its easier to live how we are instead of change for the better." He opens his eyes crawling. "Save my daughter, -please- she's just a young elf. She doesn't know the corruption our world will bring.

One of the rangers looks around unsure, as the other two watch callously. "You try to take over our family...And even change our name, effecting our legacy? This is the end of the Novalights, fool. Especially you...Jidaeo."

Two elves sit high atop a tower, icy winds biting and tugging at their hair and cloaks. The temperature unoticed by the elves, as they speak low in Thalassian. Arcs of light flash and run between the clouds exposing their illuminating bones for only a moment. One elf's skin was dried, seemingly composed of grey leather burried under his cloak of hair white like untouched snow. The other elf was his opposite, healthy tan skin and deep auburn hair. His eyes burning green opposed to the other elf''s blue. The young elf's face suddenly twisted in frustration as he observed a similar tower in the distance.

"What bothers you my son?"

"They Lied to us....They lied to us about -everything-."

"Who lied about what?"

The young elf took a slow breath, unclenching his fists in his cloak. Slowly he turned his head, flickering in the lightning storm, "I wasn't supposed to tell you...But..they lied to us about our Ancestor." The almost eternally stoic knight quickly turned to his son, his leathery skin stretching to pour more blue runic light from his sockets. "...Uncle Diel'vani told me, The story is true...But He also did a lot of bad things. He turned on his best friends, killed a lot of people. At the end...he deserved to die." The young elf looked up to his father, a worried look in his eyes. He had rested his harboring hatred for his father years ago. He understood him. The death knight shook his head, speechless. His gaze never left the younger elf, the wind relentlessly pulled their hair and cloaks, as if they were a flame of hair, flesh and fabric.

Zariel continued. "He..Deserved to die father, and many who knew him didn't see him as a hero...However. He didn't deserve to die the way he did." Jidaeo's stared to Zariel sinking in turmoil, he for once was happy emotion didn't rush from him easily. His ancestor in his mind was perfect, from the stories, the brainwashing, all the torment he went over because he carried his name.....And they lied? Conflicted he listened to the words of his youngest son, despertely stoic. "When he married into the House that became The Novalight Shin'ari. They didn't like him because he was of common blood. Then they hated his daughter Railyn because she changed the name over. They decided it was unfit and sent their own to kill their own." Zariel shakes his head. "Sound familiar? Our ancestor wasn't their blood but they had no problem killing Railyn either. -That- is a characteristic of The family before our ancestor. What I don't know is... When they died, or -where- there died. They might not have even been killed by the family, but I think they were eventually. Also another lie...Supposedly Railynn didn't want anyone to have the name Jidaeo out of respect. But the -council- hated him so -they- made it taboo and went along with the new name because too much negativity was attached to who they were. They also were embracing a....New Light." Zariel turns away looking over the tower.

The death knight extended his gloved hands from his sleeves and placed them on his head, He had felt foolish, and doubted if it all was worth it. Did he have to be ostracized for his name? If it wasn't for the Lich King he would've been killed by his own father. "...Father." Zariel said softly. Jidaeo looked up snapping out from his dissent into dreadful thoughts. "....We're going to change this family. Thalion, Xanthe, Alteryia and I will do it. He left the truth somewhere on this planet. A few useful items and clues to things he was searching for before his death. Uncle Diel'vani has passed his search to me. I will hunt until I die and pass it onto my child if I do not succeed." Zariel says staring at his father seriously. Jidaeo frowns seening burdens being passed into the family. "I am immortal, I'll search." He brushes white hair from his face with his thumb and blinks slowly towards his son. "...We can handle this, I need you to take care of a....Redis Taylor." The death knight arcs a brow slowly. "....But..There is one last thing I have to tell you."

"...It's about Anna..."

Spoiler:
Another flashback into the life of the original Jidaeo Novalight (Obviously settings (Woltk Era) and class (DK) changed accordingly to fit the time correctly. Quel'dorei and all that. I can't edit it nor would I if I could, you guys get the point. Imagination. ahem

The snow and ice glazed the ground and leaves of the trees. The wind had left the area leaving everything still. The setting sun, and arcane glow causing specks of ice on the snow to shine like glitter. Members of the Dawn of Nova guarded the building of their Quel'dorei leader and his daughter. The family he belonged to had finally decide to execute them both. He was unafraid, he hadn't been the same since he had to kill his brother, the tragedy he had been through and the death of his child's mother. It caused him to crack earlier before, turning on his second in command and even an old friend who he killed. He brushed his hair from his face with his thumb slowly observing his daughter. Light from arcane lanterns flickered in the room, slowly seeping out into the cold beyond the archway. He smiled taking a look at his daughter, it might be his last. She looked nothing like them, Her hair was not black like his, or brunette like her mothers. It was blonde, almost golden; pure. Both of her parents had been far from pure. Good intentions twisted in a crazy world. He had started the Light of Nova to help his nation. A people he loved more than himself, he made a slight impact and changed the lives of those around him. Those outside where loyal, and respected him even after his turmoil. He was fortunate but he felt his time was near. His daughter looked up to him breaking into a smile. "Father just come with me, we don't need this fam-" He shook his head. "This is our Family. Fight for it, live and lets cleanse this evil house. It is too late for me I am too tainted to help you." She shook her head quickly, nesting it in his chest. Warm tears slid down the contours of her cheeks as she sniffled.

And his name was...Jidaeo

"Railyn, I love you. But There a few things I want you to do... Okay?"

"Yes...Anything Father."

He nodded to a white crystal skull on the table. Its gloss almost made it look like milk surrounded in unfractured ice. "Take the Vanasi Issilius, The two blades, and that amulet. Hide them. Then head to my library, look upstairs for a red book. Read it. Then you'll know what to do. We have to change this family....But I won't be able to do it in my lifetime." She shook her head once more burring into her father's chest. "But why? Why sacrif-" He cut her off with a calm, soft voice. "Because I love you, Because I love your mother, and I love our people." He smiled placing a hand on her head stroking her golden hair. "If we start running from corruption now....We'll never stop." He continues hugging her as a voice from outside is heard. "Nova, a scout just reported. They're coming. We should get moving." He nodded looking to the Quel'dorei. He nodded and stepped back from his daughter. "Vynitha." He called out casually as a Quel'dorei female walked into the room. "Yes Nova?" His gaze left his daughter, and focused on the newcomer. "It is time." Vynitha's hands began to crackle with arcane as she spoke an incantation low into the room. She assumed the form of Railyn looking identical to his daughter. She then extended her hands after moments the air began to ripple like a heat mirage. Railynn observed her father as she gathered the things he told her to get. She watched him as he prepared for the family that was coming. She felt helpless. "Ms. Railyn" The mage said to her, looking identical. Railyn shook her head stunned for a second and nodded to them both. She walked through the portal as Nova and the others walked to their hawkstriders in the biting cold.

They rode quickly kicking back snow behind the talons of the Hawkstriders. They were being tracked by rangers, Nova knew he wasn't going to last long. His last hope was with his daughter and the artifacts he found.

On an old folded parchment speckled with splotches of discoloration. Once hidden between the pages of a red book in an abandoned tower, a library for an elf who lived long ago. Thalassian text written quickly almost illegible,

"To Whom It May Concern,

If you are reading this, than either you share the same views as my father or got incredibly lucky in choosing a book to read. Either way I will award you with what I've seen. I am Railyn Hamari Novalight, first Nova of the Novalight Shin'ari. A title and change I made in honor of my father, a hero in my eyes. Last year, my mother passed away. I guess our elders felt we were 'unchecked'. My father sent me away with his items in order to right these wrongs against us. To unveil the truth. My family is out to kill us. Before this family took my father's name They were greedy, vain and callous to those who didn't fit the image. They smiled with rotten cores, their alliance was to themselves.

My father saw in my mother, something he had never saw in any elven female and loved her. He had four items that he used to protect himself. The vanasi Issilius - a crystal skull hidden in the forests of Eversong. The edge of the Falcon, hidden in a red forest. The Edge of the Phoenix, hidden in the ruins of a swamp, and the Amulet of the Sun, which I will take to my grave. I do not know where I will be buried. My soul will never rest due to the turmoil I was born into, If you disturb my corpse, be prepared to change this family. My father wasn't perfect, as no one is. But I changed the name because I took pride in who he was, what he stood for before this world changed him, like it changes us all. Remember to never get so caught up in yourself that you are too busy to care for those who care for you. If you live alone...you die alone.

If the Council still exists, look for the member who's immediate family has always been on the council. Their branch is the source of the corruption. You can try talking, but I doubt they will change their minds. They are the reason for the in-house tutoring, the brainwashing of 'putting the family before an individual.' If you are a Novalight you have probably suffered from this. My father saw my mother suffer from this. Do not watch your children suffer from this. How to Fight It? Expose them. Be different...Embrace who you are, and still be proud to be a Novalight. Others will follow your strength.

Please...Avenge us. Save yourselves.

I love you,

Railyn Hamari Novalight

The elf sits quietly at a camp fire in Feralas. Due to his previous journeying he can take care of himself in the wild. He has read Railyn's ancient note over and over again. Each time her desperation bites at the pit of his stomach. As if she wrote directly to him from thousands of years before. His hood covers his face as he looks down to the note, the light from the fire flickering over his cloaked body.

"Tch..."

The Heir to the Cosmos 2: The Novalight Civil War

The Point of No Return

Three old elves sit calmly on seats lined in velvet and silk. These elves were of the Council of the Novalight Shin'ari. The council was formed for the original family before the introduction of the original Jidaeo Novalight and his daughter. This ideal and structure continued for milennia to follow keeping only a few elves in the know. Until a few months ago the only one on the council who knew of the truth was Vetai'ryn Novalight. One who remained away from the public light, but manipulated from the shadows as all of those in his direct family members had for generations. Railyn Hamari Novalight and Jidaeo Novalight both named after the dreaded ancestors were not present. The elves smoked from hookahs slowly, as the air became dense with tobacco. "How do you feel about the family's progress?" Vetai'ryn asked the others.

"I don't believe they take us seriously, now. Our family is lead by naive children." The other elf nods. "Yes, they give us a bad name. It has been years since we were ruthless and revered." The elf spoke as smoke plumed from his mouth. The other elf continued. "I agree, scouts say they're scattered acting of their own accord. They believe they are up to something." The elder elf closed his eyes, as smoke drifted from his nostrils. "You know what it is don't you?" The elves look to Vetai. "It's -his- family...Everyone in his family or allied with it is getting in the way. We just need to wipe out the immediate family sectioned away from the main estate. The others will fall in line. Its the only way to keep the Novalight Family safe. Trust me."

The watched him warily but nodded. "Release -them-." Felnir looked Tamarien then to Vetai. "Are you sure? Tialis' crimes are still pending and...The other is only concerned with Renori-" Vetai'ryn raises a hand. "It is fine, those two naturally have vendettas against Jidaeo's family, and the four Nova. They also cause a bit of trouble. Its the most opportune move." The other elves nod slowly at first. A female elf parts through the lace curtains bowing. "Forgive me my elders... I have news, About the Four Suns."

Revelations

The young elf kneels in the soft dirt in a brand new robe. He presses his fingers on the ground and bows his head. The shrine reads. "To all the Valiant Heroes, Friends, Families and Loved ones lost in the Banquet Tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Zariel visits this grave often, ever since that day. He speaks to it softly. "I'm sorry I haven't returned to you in a while. Things are changing. Some of you died protecting a family that didn't exist. A family that was an illusion one without respect or decency, only strong on a foundation of greed, murder and deceit. I am going to bring back the family that you envisioned. The one our Ancestor wished to see, the one -everyone- should wish to see. Instead of our allies helping us, its finally time we return the favor. I will need to regroup my friends and hope I haven't burnt any bridges. I will look for the artifacts but first I need to talk to the only person who can help me. This time it is all or nothing. My siblings and I will not be holding back. Long live the True Novalight Shin'ari."

The Heir to the Cosmos 2: The Novalight Civil War

High atop the endless tundra of Northrend stood two ancient elves, twisted by the politics and the ways of the world. Rarely ever able to speak as they are, without titles or socities getting in the way. A nephew and an Uncle, thats all they were. Almost father and son, inseperable. The wind pulled their hair now both whitened by the life they've led. The howling wind whispering to their ears, Its okay, ease your souls. The death knight closed his eyes, for a moment he wasn't a father, he wasn't a husband, nor a knight of the Ebon Blade but a lost child seeking the council of one whom he trusted and loved his whole life. His uncle.

"...Uncle Diel'vani. I don't know what to do. I've pushed those I care for away, and I may have endangered the rest." The Death knight's fists clenched tightly by his sides, the wind still rushing over his body. His skin numb to the touch, yet his hair waves with the vitality he is unable to show. "I thought... I thought I was doing the everything the way our Ancestor wanted us to do. Instead I've become everything he hated. I have been ostracized for my name, judged, and hated just because I shared his name. In turn I have manipulated my friends, my children, my family...Killed many. I am unfit for the name, Jidaeo Novalight." He hangs his head heavily, even in death those were hard words for him to say. If he produced tears they would flow freely, once again he was thankful he was numb to such emotion.

Diel'vani observed the elf, even though he was taller, and phyiscally different he always envisioned Jidaeo as the earnest young elf standing at against the storm with round cheeks. He smiled, yet sighing in sorrow. "...Jidaeo." Diel'vani began, wrinkles defining his age in his elven face. "...Our ancestor wasn't perfect either. He turned on the Dawn of Nova and tried to kill his second in command. He succeeded in killing her friend, and the lover of his eventual wife. His story has as much tragedy as your own. You and your wife have bore his will into your four children. They are free spirits in a family whose weight is overwhelming." Diel'vani wipes something from his glowing green eyes. "I killed my own brother Jidaeo, your father. I am no saint either. We try our best for today, we cannot fix our past. Only learn from it."

Jidaeo finally opens his eyes. "...I think the Council is going to make a move against my children. One three occasions when Railyn and I approached the council the three of them were already mid-discussion. One which would never continue while we were there. I can't say anything for certain but I also caught wind that....Tialis is free." Jidaeo stared coldly over the edge. "What?!" Diel'vani looked to his nephew quickly. "Are you sure?! They let Agorine's son go?" He asked surprised. "It was a matter of paying the gold..." Jidaeo added. The wind continued to howl, but this time it wept.

"The Queen of the Osa court told me not to intervene with Redis Taylor due to his abilities as a Necromancer, and something else changed within him. However Cerice went after him and... I haven't heard back from her either. If he takes her away from me.... " Diel'vani looked to his nephew surprised, "He won't." Diel'vani interjected, yet frowned as he could tell his matured nephew wasn't buying it. "So what are you going to do then, Jiddy?" Diel'vani asked, the same look of worry on his face, the reason for the creases in his smooth elven skin. "...I don't know."

Spoiler:

"Fight for them. This is what you sacrificed yourself for isn't it? To be able to fight for your children, your wife, your friends, your family, and your beliefs. The darkness has changed you, but I see more in you than I see in some of the other knights of the Ebon Blade. If you hold anguish of your past forge a new future. Show your friends and family that your concerned."

A cloaked figure sits at a table inside the inn residing in Hearthglen. The small flame atop a candle waves to him, the rustling of parchment is heard as he turns the page. Dark gloved hands peeking out of large sleeves cradling the old text. The hood is low, and covers even more of his face as he looks down towards the book. A thin silk mask covering his exposed lips, hiding the dead flesh from the world. It had been raining, the dancing of the dropplets were heard on the roof, as the doors to the inn rushed open so did the sound of the rainfall. Jidaeo slowly rotated his head, drifting his gaze from his book to the elven male donned in a red cloak. He was Durion, an advisor to Nova Xanthe.

Jidaeo only knew of the elf due to his position on the elder council, he was starting to become suspicious of his family. He knew they were up to something but for quite some time no action was made. He still had his duties as a Tormentor Knight of the Ebon Blade to keep an eye out for trouble in Hearthglen. Days prior a troop of Death Knights consisting of Dread Commander Itheros Blackheart, Tormentor Knight Jidaeo Novalight, His apprentice Lucian and a member of his family's Noble Guard Dandy assisted Executor Jared Richter and members of the Black Harvest. They deduced the chain of command was corrupted in the city, and with the corpses of spies it was confirmed. The Knight still was troubled about his missing wife, and the lives of his children who could possibly in danger for seeking the truth. For wishing to do the right thing.

"M'lord.. I have News for you.. It is about your Son."

The Heir to the Cosmos 2: The Novalight Civil War

-18 hours before-

In the jungles of Stranglethorn a camp fire stood between to elves, brothers. A lot was on there mind, their mother was missing and the worst was assumed. Their family that they were fighting for wished to kill them due to non-conforming. Relatively young, Zariel had just began to see life away from being bound by the chains of nobility, the weight of their actions and representation. Not having the freedom to be an individual, they wanted to change that. The breeze from the bay stirred trees and ferns even this deep into the jungle. The two elves discussed the burdens on their minds under the calls of the birds. The two had been traveling off and on ever since their discovery of the Blade of the Phoenix. It was a heavy blade with many mysteries, the sword shimmered with multiple colors like the tails of the mythical birds. Alteryia was chosen to wield this blade, there were two other itmes left. Their locations being discussed and observed.

Crouched in the ferns watching them closely was their older cousin, sent by the council. He had violated one of their codes and was detained under the grounds of the estate his existance proving to be too shameful. He was greatful they changed their minds, his name was Tialis Novalight Jr, He was the son of Agorine Novalight he was sent here to kill Zariel Amaru. He pressed a hand into the dirt slowly closing his eyes, as the large white tiger beside him crept up closer to their campsight. Once posistioned Tialis placed a leather mask over his face, his most prized asset and ran towards Zariel with feline swiftness. He leaped from the soft dirt, landing on the halved log of wood being used as a bench. He extended his arms to either side clenching his fist as a pair of long blades extended from brass knuckles. Zariel turned as the masked elf landed on the bench he sat on, confused he hesitated for one moment and became a victim to the slashes. They were fast leaving shreaded fabric, splashes of blood and light bouncing off his blades from the sun. Zariel was knocked back landing in the dirt wavering. His wounds were leaking freely. "You all deserved this," The masked elf spoke, green eyes burning through the openings. Thalion immediately locked an arrow into his bow, Tialis' back was towards him. Tialis called for his tiger's reinforcement a tad slow, as an arrow grazed his arm deeply. His own blood leaked from his claws mixed with Zariel's. The large tiger had clawed Thalion sending him sliding to the side.

Tialis' focus was the young Magi who was struggling to get up, his shreaded tuxedo shirt, ruby red. The young elf was in excrutiating pain, Tialis marinated in his expression before leaping out to slash him. To his surprise the elf managed to raise a dome of arcane, sending the blue energy rippling over him in an eliptical shape. Thalion darted behind his cousin attempting to stab him in his back, as the limber elf jumped away as he approached. Zariel's shield disapated as he struggled to get to his feet once more. Thalion and Tialis had stood in a standoff, the masked elf called off the tiger to observe. In this moment of anticipation he threw a dart to Zariel's neck causing him to collapse and loose consciousness. Thalion ran at him with impressive speed jumping in the air to land a kick to the hunter's chest sending him flying back as well. He kipped up, remaining crouched on the balls of his toes, hunched over in preperation before the two exchanged metal attacks for momments ending in a stalemate. Then it began to rain.

Unexpectedly, Tialis dashed towards a wide bucket and jumped on the lip of the container causing the far side to raise up due to a tetor totter effect, when the other side reached its peak, he jumped from the lower side high enough to vault off of the highest side and leapt over the tent. He ran into the ferns and quickly scaled a tree using his claws and boots leaving Thalion confused on the elf's location. As the rain fell so did a volley of arrows, Thalion deflected most of then with his blades but one sunk into his shoulder he called out, dripping blood stumbling. Tialis watched his cousin with hatred as he staggered in the rain, his other cousin dying yards further out. He pulled back a poison tipped arrow and released it sinking into the same shoulder dropping Thalion on the spot. Pleased with his view, he used his claws to slide down the tree, tearing up bark before flipping softly to the ground. Thalion however, was a Goliath and had a stronger will than most gave him credit, wounded and poisoned he lunged at his attacker, stabbing him in the gut and slashing his chest, before the poison's effect became too strong.

The rain fall had tickled the young dying elf awake, he rolled over still wounded. His face shifted in horror as the masked elf was standing infront of a kneeling Thalion. Two arrows from his shoulder reached for the heavens as his blood burrowed into the sand for the twisted Nether bellow. "Thal- Thalion! NOO!!!" Zariel called out, his throat was tightening as well as his stomach sank. He wanted to protect his family but once again failed, just like Alteryia. Thalion turned around to his brother's voice, black hair madded to his face by sweat and blood. He called out to his younger sibling with blood running between his teeth. "ZARIEL! GO! NOW!" It wasn't often Thalion shouted a direct command, this was serious and it scared the young elf. He quickly began conjuring a spell of teleportation sobbing. Tialis was in control of the situation, and slowly looked to Zariel surprised, he quickly extended his claw into Thalion's throat causing him to fall back coughing and gurgling on his own blood. He raised his fist in defiance, as he struggled to hold onto his body, shaking and spouting blood and red foam. It was then his arm fell, lifeless and Thalion Novalight was no more but a memory and a corpse. "NOOOOO Please!!" Zariel begged desperately. "THALIO-" He was cut off as he was rushed to Dalaran.

"Thalion Novalight, The Goliath Nova has been killed, M'lord."

Below the forests of Duskwood, lies a series of catacombs. Most used for those studying things society doesn't openly accept, some escaping the law, others just too far lost to realize their path in darkness. This was where Cerice had been all this time, her attack on the Necromancer Redis Taylor had ultimately failed, they underestimated the human and she paid for it. After her defeat she was placed in a ritual, and the fel-sworn Necromancer took control of the noble elf, making her an undead juggernaut loyal to his command. While her family searched for her, she remained unable to see them, killing and protecting the human she sought to kill. The human that attacked the family in search of Annabelle Greene.

Spoiler:

Redis already had a guard, she didn't hold up too well against Cerice but better than one would've assumed, Cerice was then sent to a group as a token of good faith for business in the future. It was then she was ordered to obey a new master until death. A human female known only as 'Faceless'

The Heir to the Cosmos 2: The Novalight Civil War
The Reunion

After Thalion's death Tialis took the body anonymously to the Estate. The body was put on ice, and kept in a casket in preparation for the funeral they would have for the Nova. The family for some reason had already decided not to ressurect the young elf, which was found odd by a few but never talked about on the grounds of the Estate. The chamber rested low below the main estate, around the area of the family holding cells, where they kept members such as Tialis for breaking the rules, too dangerous for exile and too useful to kill. Thalion's remains rested in the casket undisturbed until he was retrieved. Air twisting in the dark room like a heat mirage until an elf in a white cloak appeared, he was a member of Diel'vani's Sage Court. Gently he opened the casket and took the body up North to where his King would resurrect the young elf himself.

The young elf was kidnapped from the safest location his Uncle could place him, and sent as one of the victims of the Faceless. He endured in the caged court room with others from the world he didn't know. He was dealing with ressurection sickness and having trouble coping before the guards came in and started to behave unruly. One guard he recognized, one who began to convulse and leak black blood when she saw him. His Mother, after all the searching fate had put the two in the same location. Both against their will. Cerice's memory of her son, and conviction to keep him safe rattled the spell, giving her a little more free-will than she had previously. The following week was hectic, as she had no control over her body still if anyone especially Thalion went against the rules. Her body would strike them down just as quick as she would anything else.

Time was slow, agonizing and she began to lose her grasp on her will once more falling more and more into obedience to the Faceless. Fortunately the human died freeing her of those bonds. She needed to break the spell so she sought after an elven Necromancer she worked with during her time with the Faceless, named Astus. She couldn't find him, but she found her daughter Xanthe at the Crossroads who was delighted to find her Minn'da. Cerice had been missing for quite some time and everything had been finally coming together. After Thalion's death, Zariel informed Xanthe and others of his brother's death. They mourned and tried to adapt, but Zariel blamed himself for the loss of his brother and took it quite hard. Xanthe seemed to be in a state of disbelief and as soon as she came to terms with it, Cerice explained to her that she saw her son alive, recently. This confused Xanthe further.

Spoiler:

Still unaware of Cerice or Thalion's situation, Zariel left to go tend to the Phoenix Dawn re-stocking the ship, and fixing anything that needed to be repaired. He found out where the next artifact was, and was going to get everything ready to sail to Silvergale Isle. While Zariel was away working on business, Jidaeo had heard news his wife was found, and Thalion had returned to Hearthglen where he confirmed the information about Cerice.
