Why not tattoos?

I, tbh, do not care for tattoo's. I -might- have one character that'll get one, but even then, I don't play that character much anymore.


It might be a fad, but that doesn't mean -everyone- will be going off to buy some. I won't, but I say allow the people that do require the visual aid of it to be able to put tattoos on their peeps.

Heck, I HAVE a character that is a tattooist. She works with glyphs, and tattoo's them onto the skin of people. So yeah i agree, that it might be rare to see people with tattoo's just for the sake of it, but ones with meaning or effects, entirely possible

Glyphs
Glyphs are runes inscribed on an object. As with marks, a glyph can not be inscribed on an object in the possession of an unwilling creature. Glyphs activate immediately upon completion. Again, some inscribes are able to extend the life of a glyph or even to make one permanent.

Marks
Marks are runes inscribed on a creature. The subject must be still, so marks cannot be inscribed on unwilling creatures, however a mark can be inscribed on any helpless creature. Marks generate their effects immediately upon completion. Some inscribes have the ability to delay mark activation or even to make a mark permanent.

Marks are in the realm of the Runemaster, so if those glyphs you're tattooing on people have any purpose other than being purely aesthetic I'm going to have to go out on a limb here and say that that's probably not allowed, but don't quote me on that. And in any case, glyph would be the wrong word for what it is you're tattooing onto people.

Just to say, Runemasters are prestige classes and you have to get it okayed by the GM staff. On top of this, if I remember correctly, the prestige title system is still being worked on and because of that, you cannot apply or claim one.

But I could be wrong, who knows.

Oh, and previously, Runemasters were not allowed to tattoo other people. It gives characters the perks of the prestige class, without doing the work. We actually had a discussion on it a few months back with Kretlol.
