"Warrior Mages" or w/e you choose to call them

Are we allowed to roll a mage who is trained in both melee and magic? Like, a Scarlet Battle Mage, but not Scarlet?

Actually quite a few mages take it upon themselves to take up the art of fighting with a sword or a staff, battlemages like to focus on enchantments that enhance their slaying abilities, scarlet battlemages for example imbue theirs with fire. Yes you can be a warmage, battlemage, whatever you choose to call it. Just remember they don't march into battle with armor. ^^

Alrighty, cool! Thanks for the info! And also: do they use both a sword and a staff? Is that possible OOC? or do they just use either/or?

Some use both a sword and staff, there are multiple "held in off hand" items that show up either as small canes or as staves. There is also an offhand item that looks like a mace if your char would use that sort of weapon.

Ehh, he'd be more tempted to use a longsword and a staff, rather than mace and staff. Can you name some of these weapons for me, though, so I may take note of them?
