Yesterday evening too, I'm not quite sure why but. While I was in Booty Bay, an undead 'Royal Apotechary Forsaken' in.. T10 Warlock I think. Definately a high tier set. Walked around casually.

I wasn't sure what to say about it due to not really having interacted with him IC. But still, the set looks pretty terrifying for in a tavern. Aside from that. Also seen a Troll Rogue in Bloodfang a while ago. I'm bad with names, I would specify them if I remember. But my swiss-cheese memory is failing. And besides.. Calling names would be rather rude.

Even if they can back up why they're wearing the armor. It still doesn't seem reasonable to me to wear it in a neutral place like Booty Bay.

Well...That Warlock gear is basicly just rags, so i'm not sure if it's so bad. A forsaken may want to cover themselves anyway.

Just saying.

People should wear whatever they want to wear. Someone like to be hidden, some may be shy, someone wants to be tough, someone wants to stand out from the others. So what if they wear full plate? Booty Bay for example, is a main travel point from Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor. That means that they might be IC'ly waiting for the boat (it would take days for the boat to reach Eastern Kingdoms from Kalimdor, IC'ly).

My point is, let people wear what they feel like wearing. It's a pirate port, basically. I don't see how the bruisers would react on someone hiding under a hood, since the port is a pirate port. It might rain outside and they're wearing a hood. Maybe when they IC'ly left from their homes it was raining and they didn't bother to take it off when it stopped, maybe it's still raining when they arrive BB? People got reasons to wear a hood. Maybe someone is looking for them and they're hide under the hood?

I say it again, for the third time in this post: Let people wear whatever they feel like wearing.
What can I do you for?

Wear what you want, sure, but IMO, be smart about it if you're trying to be darker/shadey unless you've got numbers/strength/security to back dressing the way you do. If you want people to look at your characters and go "That's a scary man" or "That guy is a badass" be sure to able to back it if you're looking for trouble (I don't mean just 1 man either, if you're in Booty Bay, do not expect many people with honor codes). If you don't want people to draw attention to your character, dress normally in public.

tl;dr Common sense

I would say that the neutral towns are different, but not that different. The point is, that if you want to conceal your identity, you have something to hide. Having something to hide is suspicious and being suspicious brings you to more attention.

Also, if you need to conceal your identity, you've committed something that requires you to.

Thus making you bad for business.

Point taken, however. I still find the mask rather creepy. The one looking a little like those Doctors wore during the plague.

Oddly enough, for me, I don't mind so much when Undead walk around in armour that looks to be glorifying evil, adorned with sculls and purple and black and the like, as that's just what they are, and they are the only race that would likely show it as something to be proud of rather than ashamed. Plus, when your a zombie, keeping up friendly appearances is most likely a pretty low priority for you. I also react less to seeing blood elves in flashy over the top armour, cause that's part of their culture, making yourself to look out impressive and garish, particularly in shades of red and gold.

Times when it does irk me a little is, say, when you see a tauren walk around in super shiny flashy armour, cause its just...I cant ever picture them doing it. Same with night elves, and, to a lesser extent, humans. Though, to be fair, I virtually never see a tauren or night elf walking around in over the top armour. Generally seems to be limited to blood elves and humans if i'm being totally honest.

Anyway, point being, I'm all for people wearing what they like, but don't act surprised if my characters snigger, point, mock, or just look plain confused when you walk around a casual area looking like you couldn't decide if your going to a battlefield or a carnival ^^. And don't expect them to be happy-smiley if you wear huge spikey black armour covered in skulls ;)

Alright. I guess those are all valid points and I was a little quick to speak my mind a little bit ago. Apoligies for that. :p It's true that it really depends on the character and what about him/her makes them wear it.

I'll just keep it with casual, if not somewhat fancy robes for Karin. :D
On that matter then. Any opposition against commenting on other characters their gear? Or is that getting too the 'feedback' topic so far? Kind of curious what people think of Karin's dress style so far. :O

I actually have a gnome that keeps herself hooded and every part of her covered. No one's expressed suspicion yet which is good, seeing how she has a sort of skin condition that makes her overly sensitive to the light.

Someone -did- tell me I wasn't allowed to dress like that in Stormwind though, even though the hood is part of a priest set.

Jus' sayin'. Booty Bay is a cartel city. Cartel hates pirates. I digress, I agree with you. If a warlock wants to be publicly lynched, so be it.

...Booty Bay is run by pirates, and Ratchet gives amnesty to any privateers who pay the stiff docking fees for as long as they remain in city limits.

I'm just saying, what I know in this regard makes me wary of what you just wrote.

Really? I thought cartel =/= pirates? I'm just saying because I'm pretty sure the Cartel doesn't like pirates because they are rowdy and blegh. And how is BB run by pirates?

The Cartel doesn't like pirates that steal from -them-. Everyone else seems to be fine.

The cartell are pirates as they profiteer of people, are known for criminal activities, and their leader wears a pirate hat with the jolly rodger on it. They also happen to own a port and a small fleet of ships which are presumably pirate vessels.
